I can give you the example of one country that develops hydrogen car: Norway in Europe.
This is the Norway HyNor project. Basically, they are going to build a hydrogen highway right in the middle of the Norway from Oslo to Stavanger. Hey, this is not a tiny part but a 350 mile in length highway. Their goal is to set the standard for the whole world to follow about the reality (and necessity) of an alternative fuel cell car. Finance comes from governmental agencies and private sector to set up this project. In addition and this is a good promotion, the Norwegian government offers tax incentives for hydrogen cars since January 2007. This is an ongoing beautiful project. In the US, you have the California hydrogen highway but due to the economic situation, there is some delay as the governor Schwarzenegger had told. We will see that promise.
The first difficulty I want to point is the myth of the car without gas like the hydrogen car. My friends, it’s not a myth anymore. You can still use your “old” car, but you have many options that you can use right now because they are efficient. You can make your car, a hybrid one with water and gas or with electric or even with air. Energy will set you free, and we will love even more hydrogen car.
Finally, I want to point to your attention a short word about Stan Meyer, who was one of the first to invent the foundation of a hydrogen car with water fuel cell. Quickly, the principle is to split the water into 2 molecules: hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then used and brined to generate energy. In 1998, he was poisoned and died. However, we do not know the whole true... However, the hydrogen car is still strong today.

Hydrogen Cars - Damned Secrets about Hydrogen Cars
Hydrogen cars... How they work? But first, let see together some existing hydrogen cars you may find interesting. Some facts and characteristics about popular hydrogen cars will help to see and believe in hydrogen powered cars that use water as the alternative energy for fuel and gas. The heart of the technology is the hydrogen or HHO generator. Today, the good choices are hybrid cars instead of traditional cars with fuel. Honda Hydrogen Cars with the Honda FCX Clarity
Best of all, this car was awarded the 2009 world green car, and I’m ok with that. Honda had done here a great job to develop a fuel cell electric vehicle with a zero-emission and powered fuel cell sedan. I love that car. First, it’s fun to drive: brisk acceleration, sporty handling, and adaptive cruise control. You have the capacities of smooth and powerful electric motor with groundbreaking new fuel cell stack. The astonishing fact but true: ZERO emissions. You can count on a very high level of security too. Among other hydrogen cars, the Union of Concerned Scientists had said “FCX Clarity: There should be a lot more of them on the market, and the sooner the better”.
How it works? The Hydrogen generator produces energy that goes directly to fuel cell stack that generates electricity. Then this electricity is lead to the electric motor to propel the vehicle. And, oh, let’s not forget that you can drive a full 240 mile with it. I will give you more details about Honda's hydrogen cars on other pages of this website.
BMW Hydrogen 7
This vehicle is limited edition. In fact, only 100 vehicles were produced for leading figures from culture, business, politics and media. This is their strategy to promote their technology and to claim that they are the first production ready hydrogen vehicle. However, the major problem is that those hydrogen cars are not very green, for the moment and they use a lot of fuel. Some adjustments are still required.
The Chevy Volt from General Motors
Here are the details: this car “will” be launched in the end of November or in the beginning of 2011 by GM. It should cost around $40,000. The technology: a “plug-in electric vehicle”. It’s not a complete solution because with a full charge of their batteries, you can drive up to 40 miles. Then an internal combustion engine with gasoline creates electricity that can extend the electrical energy of 300 miles. This is for the reference, and as you may suspect it, this is not a hydrogen powered cars. Do you know why the US still wants to use gas?

...First Things, first... Hydrogen cell is like a battery, but it is continually fed with fuel. Here, the fuel comes from the water with its components: hydrogen and oxygen. So, the hydrogen cell converts those molecules into electrical energy. This is the same principle as the electrolysis. I’m telling you that hydrogen cell is silent and very reliable because there is no mechanical part in it but the major problem is the cost. Let me share a secret with you, it's not so expensive these days.
The real problem is: what components are the most efficient and affordable to build hydrogen cell. Commonly, they are also called fuel cell, and you will need many fuel cells to construct your hydrogen generator with water as fuel. This is how this technology works. You have now the big picture on how to make your fuel cell if you do not want to buy one, to a run car on water.
Let’s assume that you want to build your homemade technology. You have two options whatever you are a novice or an engineer, you need plans or a kit for HHO generators (HHO means 2 molecules of Hydrogen and 1 molecule of Oxygen). Then you will have to select the right companies to purchase the right parts. We are not talking about phone battery. It’s a bit more evolved and has nothing to do with Browns gas. Look we are clearly talking about Hydrogen cars.
I suppose you can understand better the central part played by a hydrogen cell now, right?
Of course, you will need more accessories like to enhance the power of your engine with hydrogen booster to pump more production but here is what you have to think for your hydrogen conversion.
Let’s face it, a good working one will cost you around $200 and a full hydrogen cell car around $15,000. However, you have to take a closer look because you will save a lot of money on your gas. For example, you will not have to go frequently to your gas station. And it’s commonly admitted that you can get up to 100% increase in mileage by using this method. Do not go for the full system first, under $1,000 this is not a good deal. I recommend you to build your own hydrogen cell in your garage with friends. You will just have to go to your local hardware shop to get all the parts you need. Believe me, in one weekend you can have your complete HHO cell running and working.

Fuel Cell Car - Secrets of Fast and Top Technology Fuel Cell Car
Fuel cell car and hydrogen car... this example is going to surprise you because a fuel cell car may not be what you think. There are numerous ways to build your fuel cell car. And... Because there are so many different ways to do this, many new “mecano” are totally overwhelmed with water for gas kit, experiment kit, a toy and above all information.
Whatever vehicle you are driving, a car or a SUV, fuel cell car are not all the same, and you should at least know the basic. Are a Chevy Volt, a Toyota Prius, a BMW or a Honda FCX clarity all the same technology? Are they hybrid, electric, biodiesel with ethanol or air car? What are efficient? Do you make a real fuel economy? Can you completely forget the natural gas with a fuel cell car?

You have to carry small tank of liquid hydrogen. And on the contrary, you’ve got what we call hydrogen fuel cell car like my favourite Honda FCX Clarity with hydrogen gas converted by a HHO fuel cell to produce electricity that propels an electric motor. With that in mind, you also have the so-called “Hydrogen Gas Saver” or the hydrogen HHO car or the Hydrogen assisted vehicle. Nevermind, in this case you simply use or add a hydrogen generator to increase your gas mileage. You can gain 50% to 100%.
What this means is that there are some “risks” to drive with tank of hydrogen liquid under your car. This is for the first option. The second option means that you will need to find a hydrogen refilling stations. This is the greatest option by far but today hydrogen stations are not easy to find. You will have to check for them before you leave. But definitely, this is the way to go. And third, make it on your own with fuel cell car kit to increase your mileage easily. You help a little the environment with less dramatic emissions. And on the other hand, you save money on your gas with the practical solution.
If you have a budget and a fuel cell car station go for the Honda FCX clarity, and if you have very little money but still love to drive a hydrogen car, you can make your HHO generator in one weekend with the right plan and with less than $400... You’ll have the opportunity to increase your gas mileage.
Once you've looked over how this technology can benefit you, and how easy it is to use today and more and more in the recent future, I feel confident you'll be back to become the next fan of green power for your car! Finally, for the last option, you really have to know the seven reasons to consider it: it works, it is easy if you follow a detailed plan, you do not need to be a professional, it's affordable, you can test it without damaging your vehicle, you take no risk and again this is not a myth or a legend it really works without breaking any physical law or whatever reasons a skeptic neighbor can give you. Honda Hydrogen - Secret of The Genuine and Awesome Honda Hydrogen
Today, it’s Honda hydrogen at hydrogencar101.com... But I must warn you I’m biased with this short article about Honda hydrogen because I really love the project. And when we speak about Honda hydrogen it is of course about the Honda FCX Clarity and his Home Energy Station. In my opinion, Honda hydrogen is above and beyond all its competitors like: BMW hydrogen, Toyota Hydrogen, GM hydrogen, Chevy Volt or again the Toyota Prius. In 2010, Honda Hydrogen is still (and for long?) above heads and shoulders with its FCX Clarity.
As you will see in a minute, this is a really good car with a performing generator, a smart electric engine, a genius refueling station for plug power without traditional fuel or gas. This is the green car of today, the first serious “water powered car” with HHO. The cost and the price is not a problem for a such bijou. Can you believe you can run your car on water?
How it works?
The system is everything for the Honda Hydrogen FCX. This is the powertrain. We can identify 5 parts. The first is the “Hydrogen Tank” that stores the hydrogen. The second is the “V Flow Cell Stack” that produces the electricity. Number three is the lithium-ion battery that stores the electricity. Number four is the PDU or “Power Drive Unit”. It manages the flow of electricity... and lastly, we’ve got the “Electric Drive Motor” that propels the sedan car.
Everything is well designed and compact. And do not believe it was an easy task. In fact, this is a true innovation. On April 9, 2009, this Honda Clarity was named the 2009 World Green Car.
Can you imagine that the Fuel Cell or the V Glow FX Stack converts the molecules of hydrogen and oxygen from the air into electricity? And without a doubt Honda hydrogen will play a big role in the near future. This is a fuel cell car and more precisely an electric car.
If you have read the homepage, you should have read about the hydrogen highway in Norway and in California. That’s the main reason why this car was launched in California in the mid-2008. But Hydrogen refueling stations are still rare today.
This is not a problem with the Home station and what a wonderful project.
Basically, it generates hydrogen from natural gas and can provide heat and electricity for your home and in the main time, can supply fuel for a hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric car like the Honda Hydrogen FCX. No refuelling station, solution: Home Energy Station. It works and it was tested since 2003 in California. On average, the CO2 emission is 30% lower than common household.
