The Bantu language of the Xhosa tribe, related to Zulu and spoken by over 7 million people. It is one of the official languages of South Africa.
We spent 7 days on the point. The point is a different world from the City. Every day the same. Every day good waves and good vibes from the Lities. Every day starts with Coffee and Cigarettes and every day ends with Black Labels and a Brai. We slept at 9 and woke at 5. Some days we foraged for mushrooms. Some days we bought the biggest crayfish I’ve ever seen. The point was our home and the Lities were our family and the biggest worry we had was Sharks and rolling the land rover on the track to the point.
It was a blissful existence.

"Every year it's much the same. We come, we ride, we laugh, we cry, we break, we recover, we film, and we make videos. Combine that with the moments in between — our chosen lifestyle that doesn't necessarily lend to the protocols of corporations and establishments — and it's enough to keep us energised year after year.
That's not to say there isn't hierarchy and politics within it all; which is why I enjoy creating this series so much. The only competition is individual with riders often watching their trick on the t-bar to see if it's stomped properly. The crew gets stoked for each other when they get the trick because it means a better collective video. They often push each other — in what seems to be the healthy version of competition — to try something new. This is where I find the most fun in snowboarding.

You kinda have to dig deep to get psyched to go surf because it’s that cold, or way colder than I’m used to surfing in Sydney. Lots of coffee, music and air punches to warm the body up.
We didn’t really get stand up tubes, but fuck I had fun!

The swell was almost too big for the reef, turning a perfect right into a thick double-up monster. The few surfers game enough to put themselves under the lip were rewarded with some amazing tubes. Laurie Towner was one of these guys and got some great waves until he was flogged at the bottom of a huge double-up. The result was a few separated ribs but Laurie was still stoked!

The 2nd stop of the 2017 DC Hit & Run went down in Meribel, France. The inconsistent and troubling weather didn’t stop the field of over 50+ riders from ripping it up all day. Taking place at France’s legendary DC Area 43, the course challenged riders to ride as fast as they can through banked turns, and throw down their best tricks on the 3 judged sections (pipe, rails, and jump). At the end of the day it was Mons Roisland who took home the cash for Men's Pro and best trick with a switch back 1260, Sebbe De Buck coming in second, and Jordan Morse with 3rd. The mysterious “LeBlanc” lead the way in Men’s Open, and Nikelaeva Xenia won for the Women’s Open. Next stop Whistler!

New Zealand’s premiere surf event, The Rip Curl Pro Raglan, kicked off today in two-to-three-foot peelers at Manu Bay in Raglan, North Island – hosting the very best of New Zealand’s homegrown surfing talent, alongside the competitors of the GromSearch International Final.
In between heats, surfers snuck off to drive around the corner – which, in Raglan, is down a dirt road – searching for waves and finding stunning vistas. A part of the GromSearch experience is learning about the country and the land, and learning how to really “travel” while competing.

Snowboarding Shredder Sunny Steele Hits The USA 2018 | Boardworld
14-year-old snowboarder Sunny Steele has a weakness for Maltesers and Nutella, nevertheless, his supportive parents have been nurturing his strengths in boardsports. Sunny loves surfing and skateboarding, however, snowboarding is his true passion. This past season Sunny and his dad travelled to the United States to stack footage in the streets and backcountry, and to train with Mikey Williams Snow. They started off filming in Lake Tahoe and concluded the trip training and competing in Colorado.
Sunny has been clocking up greats results in Australia and abroad, including 1st overall at the New Zealand Nationals and Thredbo Snow Series. Sunny is a well-rounded rider beyond his years, stepping outside of slopestyle and taking his skills into the streets and backcountry. He has dreams of being a professional snowboarder and competing at the X Games and Olympic Games. This season Sunny has been offered a scholarship with Ski and Snowboard Australia.

I borrowed the aesthetic from Science Fiction films and isolated that into something that I hope will stimulate the imagination into its own spacefaring journey.
It so happens that I’m a lazy animator.
Using fractals, I can conjure up entire worlds without having to draw or model anything. These shapes hide in the formulas, they exist in a mathematical reality, all I need to do is explore those worlds and make them reveal themselves. For me, that discovery has become one of the most thrilling aspects of digital filmmaking.

World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2018 | Best of Halfpipe
Misaki Kakubari (JPN) excelled in her halfpipe run, with technical tricks and good amplitude, winning the trophy as 2018 Halfpipe World Rookie Girl Champion, thanks to an amazing run with a frontside 720 melon, cab 360, frontside 540 melon, backside 540 mute and to finish it up a frontside 360 indy. The podium was completed by Iina Puhakka (FIN) and Makayla Kellogg (USA).
In the grom girls category, Mitsuki Ono (JPN) gained the best score of the day in her category with an amazing run: cab 720 stalefish, frontside 540 tail, backside 540 stalefish and a stylish frontside air indy. She was followed by Tessa Maud (USA) and Elena Schütz (SUI).

In 2012, with two world titles under his belt, Mick Fanning asked us for a unique way of recognising his pro achievements.
We agreed, and his Black RC Sticker was born.
To this day, Mick is the only surfer in our pro team history who has earned the right to run the Black Sticker.
As he retired from competition this Easter at the 2018 Rip Curl Pro our elite pro team will honour his legacy by removing the red and running the black during the contest.

Highlights 2018 World Parkour Championships Turkey
The World Parkour Championship in Mardin, Turkey was completed successfully with all the athletes putting on an incredible performance.
The event was held on the 12th and 13th of May in the historic Zinciriye Medresesi, in Mardin, Turkey, where 32 athletes from 14 nationalities competed in Speed and Freestyle categories.
The Speed competition was held on Saturday, followed by the “Alive after Five” Freestyle Elimination category. On Sunday the Freestyle Finals were held which saw 15 top athletes perform their best tricks in front of the crowds.

Joining him on the podium was wildcard, Elias Elhardt (GER-2nd Place) whose trademark playful and flowy style was on full display and fellow Austrian, Thomas Feurstein (AUT-3rd Place) who earned himself a second podium this week after stomping a solid technical run with multiple 360s.

It was a day of firsts for the rookie, Mickael Bimboes (FRA-1st Place) who claimed his first career FWT win and podium thanks to hard-charging big mountain confidence, perfectly stomped airs and a huge must-stick gap jump over the lower couloir, which has never been seen before in a competition on the “Wildseeloder” venue. Kristofer Turdell (SWE-2nd Place) stood on the podium for the second time this week and clinched the 2018 FWT Ski Men championship after stomping a nearly perfect technical run with tons of airtime. The former champion, George Rodney (USA-3rd) was back in form perfectly stomping one of the biggest airs of the day, which landed him back in the winner’s circle.

World Rookie Fest 2018 Snowboarding Highlights
Livigno and Mottolino Snowpark have welcomed over 100 riders from 11 nations for this year DEEJAY Xmasters World Rookie Fest.
Baldur Vilhelmsson (ISL) won Rookie's division bringing Iceland to victory for the second year in a row. finishing ahead Nick Punter (SUI) and Noah Vicktor (GER).
Grom Boys saw William Mathisen (SWE) takew podium with Alessandro Lotorto (SUI) second and Lukas Frischhut (AUT) rounded out the podium as third.
Annika Morgan (GER) landed on the Rookie top spot in front of Iina Puhakka (FIN) and Evelina Taka (FIN)
Grom Girls showed their best: Mia Brookes (GBR) took the first place ahead Elena Schutz (SUI) and Evy Poppe (BEL).

Highlight Ski Mens | Freeride World Tour 2018 | JPN Staged In CAN
Following a day of spectacular season-opening riding yesterday, organizers and athletes successfully restaged the Hakuba, Japan event that was postponed due to difficult snow and weather conditions.
Ivan “Mad” Malakhov (RUS-1st Place) finally got the win that he has long been searching for as he launched one of the biggest airs of the day with an impeccable landing followed by clean, fast skiing. Yann Rausis (SUI-2nd Place) was able to snag second place with a perfect backflip and incredibly fast and smooth skiing throughout the venue. While he skied a similar line to Rausis with an impressive backflip, Kristofer Turdell (SWE-3rd Place) was unable to keep his riding tight enough to place higher.
