Less Content Is Better My previous thinking was that the more articles I publish, the more changes I'll get visitors from Google searches. That is true, however, if your articles overlap with closely related content, it can and will hurt you. With Google, its all about quality, not quantity. Consolidate your content and get rid of out of date articles. 2. Backlinking Trying to create your own backlinks, e.g. through guest posts on other people's websites, will get results for you... but only temporarily. Your page one Google position will not stay there for long. What really matters is if your content is the authority. If it is, then others will backlink to you and you'll stay on page 1 of Google indefinitely. Like this podcast? It's not about you Your business should never be about you. Create your business around the vision and systems processes. The more you remove yourself and are constantly automating your business, the more the business can grow and you can have the money and the lifestyle you want. 3. Hire staff based on attitude and culture fit You can teach your staff how to do the work, but you can't change attitudes. Hire people that are a fit for your business culture. Like this podcast? JLDC 0105: Jessica Rhodes – Starting Your Own Podcast
Considering starting your own podcast? I started my podcast back in 2014 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It wasn't hard to do, in fact, I did it all by myself. Get started on your podcast immediately. Don't wait until you feel that you've got your format down, or that you have a unique message to share, or that your intro music is good enough, blah, blah, blah. In the beginning no one cares. Get started now and you'll develop your podcast as you go along. Starting your own podcast? Keep it simple! Don't go all out and buy an expensive microphone and audio editing equipment. You don't need it. In the beginning the only thing you need is a half-decent mic. You can get one for around $60 and that's all you really need to get started. I still use free audio editing software like Audacity today. Having your own podcast gives you greater control There are not many opportunities to have your own media outlet where you have complete control. With a podcast you are able to communicate with your followers in a unique, personal way... ...and offer that to your guests. This gives you the opportunity to have high-quality guests on your show imparting valuable content that will benefit both you and your listeners. Like this podcast? The first thing that this interview did was reinforce just how powerful the Amazon FBA opportunity is and that it is the best way for people to get started creating a new online business for themselves. Whenever family and friends come to me asking, "what is the best way to make money online?", for the past 18 months I have been telling them to start an Amazon FBA business. The second thing I got out of this interview is that to be successful in business, you need to do things a little different than everyone else. If you're selling the 'same' stuff as your competition, you won't stand out, and if you don't stand out, you'll have to divide the spoils equally with your competitors. By creating physical products that are a little different, especially if they are in some way better than the competition, you'll be a lot more profitable. Like this podcast? Think outside the box with your marketing Don't do what everyone else is doing. Get to understand your client and their market, and then come up with a targeted strategy to reach that specific market. Always be in front of your market. Like this podcast? JLDC 0071: Internet Marketing FAQ – Best Free & Paid Traffic Sources in 2016
Don't waste your hard-earned time and money... ...discover the ONLY free and paid traffic sources you should be using in 2016! Here's a timeline of the topics discussed during the podcast: 0:00 - Introduction 0:45 - Why you shouldn't use EVERY traffic source available 1:30 - PPV (Pay Per View) traffic 3:00 - The 2 PPV networks that I personally use and highly recommend 3:45 - Facebook Advertising 4:45 - Google Adwords and Bing Ads 6:00 - Video marketing, in particular Youtube 7:15 - Podcasting 8:00 - Blogging 9:00 - Repurposing your content 9:45 - Kindle Desktop Publishing 10:15 - Audible audiobooks 10:45 - Udemy courses 11:15 - Facebook pages 11:45 - Pinterest and Instagram 12:15 - Forums 12:45 - Free Google and Facebook Business Listings 13:15 - Why traffic is so important for your business 13:45 - Tracking your traffic with Google Analytics Here’s a transcription of the podcast: What I wanted to talk about today was the best free and paid traffic sources for 2016. These are traffic sources that I highly recommend. Many of them I personally use but I don't use every traffic source available. Sometimes it is not wise to do that. You can't gain traction if you try too many things. But most of these traffic sources I personally do use. Some of these I don't but I know that they do work as they come highly recommended from people that I know that are doing very very well in Internet marketing. Best Paid Traffic Sources for 2016 I'll begin with paid traffic. The reason why I'll start off with paid traffic is because it's very quick and easy, especially if you are starting up, to get traffic. A lot of free traffic generation strategies take time to build up but paid traffic is instant. PPV Networks The first one that comes to my mind and that I personally use is PPV paid traffic, or Pay Per View. This traffic is typically popups that will appear on people's computer that a part of PPV networks, which they allow to appear. Basically you can have your website, i.e. your squeeze page or landing page, literally popup before target people because you can specify when this popup appears. An example of this would be an online florist. They would have their popup to appear when anyone is visiting any website related to florists and flowers. You can even have your popup to appear over competitor sites! Another reason why I like PPV is that you can target specific countries that you want your ad to appear in. PPV advertising is also extremely low cost. We are talking less than 1 cent for your website to actually popup. It’s excellent for optins because you can have, for example, a squeeze page or landing page appear. When it comes to paid traffic there isn’t a better source. There are a lot of different PPV networks out there. I’ve tried many of the best ones, and the ones that I’ve gotten the best results with are: Propel Media (formerly known as Trafficvance) Lead Impact 50onRed Be aware that you’ll need to pony up $1,000 upfront to join Propel Media and LeadImpact. You can use that for your own advertising though. This is a good thing for you, that there is this entry requirement, because it means less competition. Facebook Advertising Another paid traffic source that I highly recommend for 2016 is Facebook Advertising. Facebook Advertising is excellent because you can target any geographic area. This is especially good if you have a local or physical business. You can target specific countries, states, cities, and even post codes. It can also be very low cost if you set up your ads to target your specific audience.
