Podcast Episode's:
BFGC 36 - Fool's Gold
Before the McConaughssance, came the collapse and few films did more than to progress the fall than this poorly received turkey. Cashing in on the chemistry between Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, Fool’s Gold is a half rom com, half action adventure that aims to recapture the spirit of classics like Romancing The Stone. Unfortunately, it didn’t convince audiences particularly well, and infuriated critics. Just perfect for us to investigate if this is a low point in Matt’s illustrious career. But did Ray Winstone accept this role for a Caribbean holiday? Should Malcolm Jamal-Warner aka Theo Huxtable be in more films? And should the accent coach be struck off for their contribution to this film? From the other side of the world Sam recommends a rom com that has a considerably better reputation in this weeks Our Man in Japan segment. Join us as we sit on the beach drinking Red Stripe to see if this romantic adventure is a hidden treasure or a bag of rubbish left on the beach. Disagree with our verdict? BFGC 35 - Olympus Down
When terrorists take over the White House, only one film can save the day, and in our 4th July special we find out which is better Olympus Has Fallen, or White House Down. We start by examining which is better on paper. Whilst we deliberate over their entertainment value, Sam, Our Man in Japan takes the reins and joins US Correspondent Vic for a stateside look at what films they think best represent America. Then it’s back for the definitive conclusion to discover whether Gerard Butler or Charming Tatum is the right man to save the president, and provide the most fun. But would Butler be more intimidating wearing just pants and a cape? Can Tatum Step Up 2: The Plate and bust the right moves on the bad guys? And just why would anyone vote Two-Face for president over Ray Charles? 0.00:00 - 00.17:28 - Better in Theory 0.17.28 - 0.47.39 - Stateside Selections 0.47.39 - End - Better in Practice FYI: Diggstown is also known as Midnight Sting Disagree with our verdict? BFGC 34 - Gods of Egypt
It’s been a while since we’ve had a decent swords, sandals and sorcery movie. Many have tried but, whilst some have come close, all have failed. Gods of Egypt gives Egyptian born Australian director Alex Proyas, purveyor of arch-Goth classics The Crow and Dark City, a go to try and brighten things up. Unfortunately, the reviews were so bad the director took to Facebook in a fit of rage. It has been known for critics to be wrong, and we are just the people to assess whether that is right. But just what has Bryan Brown been up to since Cocktail? Does Chadwick Boseman’s performance bode well for Black Panther? And can anyone teach us how to correctly pronounce Nikolaj Coster-Waldau? Join us as we raft down the Nile to see if this movie is a golden idol, or touristy trinket. If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. Get in touch and let us know: Email: bfgccast@gmail.com Twitter: @bfgcpodcast Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/BFGCPodcast/ iTunes: apple.co/1R4SNZJ

BFGC 33.5 - Guardians of the Wonder Driver
We finally managed to get it working. Sam, Our Man in Japan, linked up with me via Skype, Ben, for an impromptu discussion, mainly about Guardians Vol.2 and trailers that don’t necessarily do their job. It was supposed to be a quick little chat to fill the gap before our Gods of Egypt episode, but it turned into something a bit longer than anticipated. This is the #TeamBFGC way. Please note that sound levels are a bit wonky, because I got the levels wrong when I was recording. There’s some post-production wizadry at play, that might get me kicked out of Hogwarts… but you can be the judge of that. Do you want to hear more like this? BFGC 33 - The Wicker Man 2006
If you were asked to make a list of films that shouldn’t be remade, 70s horror classic The Wicker Man is likely to figure quite highly. In 2006, however, Neil LaBute decided to do just that. Transplanting the story to America, he casts Nicolas Cage as a conflicted copper investing the disappearance of a girl who may, or may not, be his daughter (SPOILERS: it is), from a remote, matriarchal society. What could possibly go wrong? Critical and commercial catastrophe, that’s what. Time to strap in and see whether LaBute and Cage have slaughtered a sacred cow. But what kind of performance will Nic Cage employ? How fast is Christopher Lee spinning in his grave? And will this film put you off eating honey? Join us as we dance around the maypole to see if this remake makes you dance in your pants, or want to sit in a Habitat chair and self-immolate. BFGC 32 - Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow
It has been a long time coming but we can finally bring you our episode on a green-screen pioneer. This retro adventure features zeppelins, giant robots, ray guns and Giovanni Ribisi. What’s not to like? Well… it flopped at the box office, and the director hasn’t made another film since. That certainly seems like a bad omen, but friend of the podcast Dave loves it, so our minds will be kept open. But does Jude lay the law as the titular pilot? Can legendary class act Michael Gambon save the day? And did Foz actually manage to finish the movie? Join us in a sepia hued airship as we find out if the world of tomorrow is an exciting land of wonder, or a post-apocalyptic wasteland of tedium. WARNING: The intro section features some dodgy audio due to a loose microphone connection If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. BFGC 31 - Action Jackson
After years of propping up the biggest action stars of the 80s, Carl Weathers made his bid for solo stardom in Action Jackson. It was a modest success at the time, but not well received by critics. There’s no better time to visit the city of Detroit, where the film is set, for an international edition looking at this lost classic. But was the leading lady cast for any other reason than sheer Vanity? How many action character actors can you spot? And just how does Carl like his ribs? Join me, Sam Your Man in Japan, and special guest co-host Vic, VC from the D, as we find out if Carl can weather the storm to become a leading man or if he’s better left backing the line as a supporting player If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. BNGC #10 18-05-2017
Welcome to Bad News in Good Company, recorded 13 May 2017. We took time before Eurovision on Saturday to record a cheeky little newscast just for you. Amongst the topics of conversation this time are: - Game of Throwback - Marshall Hellboy - Suspiriaicious Minds - Blade Running Out? - Riverdale Verdict And much more. Is there any news you think we’ve missed? Let us know: Email: bfgccast@gmail.com Twitter: @bfgcpodcast Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/BFGCPodcast/ iTunes: apple.co/1R4SNZJ

BFGC 30 - The Avengers (not that one, the 1998 one)
This was, possibly, the most misguided move ever taken by Warner Bros. A full-blooded American interpretation of a quintessentially British show. The Avengers (not that one) boasts the excellent skills of a whole host of talented actors, and Uma Thurman. Critics hated it… audiences stayed away… I surely can’t be that bad. [spoilers] We had to record a little extra, to make up time and add some much needed positivity, giving you an insight into BFGC decision making along the way. But is it possible for Jim Broadbent to give a bad performance? Were Shaun Ryder’s appearances on TFI Friday the reason he was given no dialogue? And has Sean Connery made a worse film than Zardoz? Join us as we joyride in an E-Type Jag and see if this remake is a sturdy Steed, or limp like orange Peel If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. BFGC 29 - Underworld
After 28 episodes of agreement, comes the first film we don’t see eye to eye on. The 2003 action horror flick Underworld, where vampires and werewolves get into rucks. Foz loves the film and has invested in the whole series. But Ben hates the film so much, he couldn’t finish watching it back in the day. It’s a game of 2 halves this week as we each state our pre-existing opinions, then reconvene to see if our minds have been changed. But do fans say it’s good just to excuse the fact that they're perving over Kate Beckinsale in PVC? Are Bill Nighy’s acting chops infallible? And just what did happen to Scott Speedman’s career? Join us we surround ourselves with garlic and silver to see whether Foz is delusional or Ben is a joyless idiot. If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. BFGC 28 - Mindhunters
What happens when you give a clever Agatha Christie style murder mystery to that Finnish purveyor of dumb overblown action Renny Harlin? Mindhunters is the result and the fact it sat on the shelf for 2 years should tell you everything you need to know. Or does it? It’s time to look at this forgotten film for signs of life. But did this film spearhead Val Kilmer’s career revival? Does this movie count towards Jonny Lee Miller’s audition for Elementary? And does Renny Harlin have a talisman in LL Cool J ? Join us at the Cluedo board as we try and unravel the mystery to find out if this is a smart whodunit or stupid whocares. If you’ve seen it, let us know what you think. BFGC 27 - The Phantom
In the weird days of comic book adaptations, before Nolan drained the fun and Marvel found the formula, we have 1996’s The Phantom. It’s a bright, colourful action-packed adventure that was supposed to launch Billy Zane as an A-list superstar. Unfortunately, it opened against Michael Bay’s finest 2.5 hours and there was no way it was going to come off best. It’s 21 years old now, and it’s time to see if time has been kinder than the box office. But did the poor performance mean this film was Kristy’s swansong? Does Treat WIlliams’ perfomance live up to his name? And can any film with James Remar be less than entertaining? Join us in the jungle to see whether this purple clad crime fighter is a swashbuckling superhero or a relic of the past. What do you think? Get in touch and let us know: Email: bfgccast@gmail.com Twitter: @bfgcpodcast Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/BFGCPodcast/ iTunes: apple.co/1R4SNZJ

BFGC 26 - Speed 2
How do you follow up Speed? You know… Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock on a bus that’ll explode if it slows down. Simple. Swap Keanu for the other guy from The Lost Boys and transfer the action to a boat, a vehicle that CAN’T stop. That’s a guaranteed winner, right? History has this down as one of the worst and most pointless sequels in Hollywood history. This year is the 20th anniversary, and it’s the perfect time to revisit this legendary turkey. But did they have to blackmail Sandra Bullock to star in this movie? Were there teeth marks in the scenery from Willem Dafoe’s performance? And how is it possible to be a more wooden actor than Keanu? Join us at the bar on deck 4 to see if this cruise caper has sea legs, or if it should sink without a trace. What do you think? BFGC 25 - Congo
Way down deep, in the middle of the Congo, a scientist, a primatologist and tour guide ate a mango… or did they. This movie is a blatant Michael Crichton cash in, made in the wake of a certain cultural and commercial cretaceous behemoth. The studio definitely wanted a film of Jurassic Monkey proportions. But how was Tim able to Curry favour in order to nab this role? Can Ernie Hudson shake the career ghost that is Winston Zeddemore? And are white Gorillas just another example of cultural appropriation? Join us as we get our shots from the doctor and see if this jungle safari is more a swinging lord of the apes, or a forgotten missing link. What do you think? BFGC 24 - Timecop
In 1994, at the height of his fame, Jean-Claude Van Damme made this blockbusting time travel action caper. He plays the Timecop of the title, who goes AWOL and is left to use all his Kickboxer skills to become a Hard Target. He Dux and dives from the bad guys to avoid Sudden Death in a film that’s definitely not a Knock Off. But given how often he’s played twins, would seeing himself cause a paradox? How does Ferris feel about his former flame hooking up with Jean Claude? And how does a film made in 1994 that goes back in time to 1994 not look like 1994? Join us for the second studio visit from Our Man in Japan, as we discover if this is the work of a legendary split kicker, or if he’s Expendable Too What do you think? BFGC - What We're Watching March 2017
Following on from our Oscars predictions podcast, and the event free ceremony, we reflect on our choices. Then we proceed to have a chat about some of the TV shows we’ve been watching on the various streaming services, and what we’re looking forward to *cough* Iron Fist *cough* Intro: 0:00.00 – 0:01.42 Oscars: 0:01.42 – 0:10.14 Watchlist: 0:10.14 - End Are there any shows you think we should check out? BFGC 23 - Hackers
In the days before Anonymous, Wikileaks and Snowdon, it was down to a bunch of teenagers to take on corporate corruption. Complete with his Trainspotting hairdo, Jonny Lee Miller leads Angelina Jolie and a host of soon-to-be famous faces as the titluar heroes. After more than 20 years, it will be interesting to see if this computerised concoction holds up better than Swordfish. But is Jonny Lee Miller's American accent sick, boy? Did Matthew Lillard's character create the corn flakey brekafast cafe? And would the future married couple have become known as Jongelina if they'd hooked up 10 years later? Join us as we download secret files over a 56k modem (very slowly) and discover if this film can Hack the Planet, or it's merely hacked off. What did you think? BFGC 22 - Swordfish
In one hand you have two X-Men, and a future Avenger, and in the other, Travolta with the most criminal hair and beard combo in film history. Smash them together and you get the action/computer hacking thriller Swordfish. Given that any film that’s computer based is usually out of date by the time it’s released, it’ll be interesting to see how it fares after more than 15 years. But does this film really showcase Halle Berry’s greatest talents? Why didn’t they pay Hugh Jackman an extra $1m for his topless scenes? And is this yet another film that proves why Travolta’s career should have stayed dead? Join us as we boot up our Amstrad CPC464s (with green screen... of course) to see if it joins the ranks of Anonymous or if it should remain unknown. What did you think? BFGC Oscars 2017 Predictions

BFGC 21 - Remo Unarmed And Dangerous
It was the time of larger than life, steroidmungous action stars, armed to the teeth with all kinds of weaponry. One little film tried to buck the trend. Remo Williams needed no weapons, except the special effects make up to turn Cabaret’s Joel Gray into an old Korean man. It flopped on release, but the film has fond memories for its fans. 30 years on, it’s time to revisit this forgotten film. But did they really have to “yellow up” a white actor? Was playing a character with a different skin colour acceptable in the 80s? And is it really racist if it was acceptable at the time? Our Man in Japan joins us in the BFGC studio as we centre our collective chi to find out if this kung-fu master is deadly with fists and feet or disarming and harmless. Like what we’re doing? BFGC Action Movie Special
From Stallone to Snipes, John McLane to Jean Claude, and Chan to Yen, we all love a good action movie. They have existed since the Lumiere bros. tried to drive a train through your eyeballs they have been a mainstay of mainstream movies for decades. The burly, musclebound 80s, brought us the larger than life Arnie and Stallone whereas, the 1990s gave us a more everyman hero in the shape of Bruce Willis and Nic Cage. All the while, Hong Kong did their own thing, and gave us something we hadn’t seen before. These are the films we grew up watching, that shaped our youth and made us the men we are today. Join us, your usual hosts Ben, Foz and Our Man in Japan, alongside guest contributor Dave, as we make the definitive list of the greatest action movies from both the 80s and 90s. Timings: Intro: 0.00:00 – 0.06.44 1980s Picks: 0.06.44 – 00.40.50 Our Man in Japan: 00.40.50 - 54.35 1990s Picks: 00.54.35 – 01.58:01 Wrap Up: 01.58.01 – End Have we missed any films off? BFGC 20 - Point Break 2015
In 1991 Kathryn Bigelow made one of the most beloved buddy bromance movies in the history of cinema. 24 years later, and not even bothering to tie-in to the Silver anniversary, someone decided it deserved the remake treatment. Trading skydiving for squirrel suits and casting not one, but two former Home and Away stars, director Ericson Core hopes to bring a post-millennial spin to a bonefide classic. But do they really hope to improve on, almost, perfection? Will this make Patrick Swayze turn in his grave? And just what kind of accent is Ray Winstone attempting? Join us as we put on wetsuits to see if this remake can hang ten and catch a tube, or if it’s a bogus wipe out. Is this a remake too far? BFGC 19 - Super Turbo Championship Fighting Edition 16-bit Edition: Street Fighter v Mortal Kombat
It was the most dangerous argument of the entire 1990’s. A debate so bitter, it caused friends to fight each other to the death. Which was better Street Fighter 2 or Mortal Kombat. Both released in the UK in 1995, their cinematic incarnations are put to the test. It’s Lambert vs Van Damme in a fight to the finish. Legendary Arcade and Super Nintendo fight ‘em up Street Fighter 2 was so successful, it spawned countless imitators, practically creating a whole gaming genre. Can the man who wrote the gun happy Die Hard and Commando turn in a good fist fight? Should Kylie Minogue have stuck to singing? And will it be a sonic boom, or will it fire a Blanka? Mortal Kombat was a very different kind of fighter from its Japanese counterparts. Switching from hand-drawn sprites to digitised characters, and shot through with dark humour, it was more notorious for its controversial blood and gore fatalities. Could writer/director Paul Anderson deliver a film to satisfy its fans, but appease the parents of its tweeny audience? Will Talisa Soto avoid the curse of the Bond Girl? And will it be an ice shattering Sub Zero, or just sub-standard? Join us as we blow into a cartridge, break out the six button pads to find out if it will be a Perfect Round or a Flawless Victory. Are all video game related movies terrible? Are there any we should do? BFGC 18 - Johnny Mnemonic
This is an action packed Keanu Reeves sci-fi action movie, but unfortunately it’s not that one. Welcome to the cyberpunk world of the future as seen from 1995, with a pre-Matrix Keanu in the title role. William Gibson is well respected as an author and visionary. How does he fare as a screenwriter. But is Ice-T really the greatest rapper turned actor? Was this film an influence on Seaquest DSV? And did 1995 really think fax machines were going to be a viable, future-proof technology? Join us as we take a trip into cyberspace to see if the future’s so bright we gotta wear shades, or this Johnny should’ve got his leg swept. Is this better than The Matrix? BFGC 17 - Sharkfest 2016
Sharks, those deadly denizens of the deep. Are they truly evil, or just misunderstood? Join us as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 21st anniversary of Spielberg’s ground breaking blockbuster and examine the cinematic exploits of the sea’s most savage settlers. We take in the good, the bad and just plain rubbish in an attempt to uncover why sharks endure so much in the movies. Our Man in Japan joins us to give us a flavour of what kind of films they make about the pesky prehistoric piscine in the far East. We finish by comparing, arguably, the 2 biggest Shark movies in the history of cinema. That’s Jaws and Deep Blue Sea if you’re wondering. How many of you thought we were going Sharknado? Timings: Intro and General Sharkiness: 0:00.00 – 00:29.30 Our Man in Japan: 00:29.30 – 00:33.57 Jaws v Deep Blue Sea: 00:33.57 – 1:34.50 Wrap Up: 01:34.50 – End Here are 3 clips from Psycho Shark/Jaws in Japan: https://youtu.be/HtMpg3VyBlg https://youtu.be/iJs0esBfhQg https://youtu.be/C5z_c3NSfNs Let us know what you think the best shark movie is. BFGC - JCVJ & Summer TV
Welcome to the Bad Films in Good Company Podcast, searching for the best things from the worst movies. It’s Amazon Pilot season again and Team BFGC have a have a favour to ask. We want all our listeners to watch and vote for Jean-Claude Van Johnson in this current run. It’s a show where JCVD plays JCVD. Only this Van Damme is also a black ops guy using his international location shoots as cover for his non-acting work. It’s a self-referential, self-deprecating action comedy with JCVD poking fun at himself and is exactly the kind of show we want to see more of. After this heartfelt plea, we go on to have a discussion about other TV shows that we’re currently enjoying, both past and present. What are you watching at the moment? BFGC #16 - Stranger Things
Welcome to Bad Films in Good Company, a weekly movie podcast trying to find the best things, from the worst films. In a packed show we recap some recent news stories inc.: - Dirty Rotten Sex Change - Comedy Calamity - Vorhees a Jolly Good Fellow - Exorcist: Made for TV Version We also pick a trailer of the week, and bring you a report from our international correspondent in a brand new section. Finally we turn things upside down in our spoiler filled review of Stranger Things: Take a splash of Stephen King, a soupcon of Spielberg and the juice of John Carpenter. Mix them up in a bowl and you get Stranger Things, the latest smash-hit TV show from Netflix. Creators the Duffer Brothers have crafted this show as a love letter to early 1980s cinema. Are they able to conjure something with depth or is it simply a case of style over substance. But will this revitalise Winona Ryder’s career? How many children do you actually need for an adventure? And will any 80s filmmakers need to have a word with their lawyers about this show? Join us as we check whether this homage is a blast from the past, or if it should be consigned to history. BFGC #15 - Hudson Hawk
Do you like to swing on a star? Bruce Willis as a cat burglar? How ‘bout a globe-trotting heist caper? If any of these sound appealing, then you’ll be much better off than you are by watching Hudson Hawk. In the first of our ‘In Defence of...’ strand, we pass judgement on this much maligned flop. We examine its flaws and feats and let you know why you should watch it. But is this the pinnacle of Andie McDowell’s career? Should Bruce Willis have retired his singing career? And can you f***in’ believe air bags and a sprinkler system in the back? Join us as we sing a song side by side to see if this Hawk flies free, or if it should be given a life sentence. BFGC-Game Of Thrones-S6 E4 and E5
Back, once again, like a renegade maester, it’s time for a new Bad Thrones in Good Company. After missing a week due to holidays and illness we return with a look back at both episodes 4 & 5. So many things go down in these two, and there is much to discuss. There is a cold wind blowing oop North, drizzle in the rusty Iron Isles and it’s getting Hot in the City across the narrow sea. Are all family reunions in Westeros a miserable affair? Should Ned Stark need to drink his weak lemon drink now? And is chivalry now tainted forever as holding a door causes PTSD? All of this and much, much more in a special double episode. WARNING: This show contains SPOILERS for Game of Thrones up to, and including, Season 6 Episodes 4 and 5. BFGC - Game of Thrones S6 E3
The worst kept secret in Game of Thrones history has been revealed and no one, outside of Westeros, was surprised. Lots of other stuff happened too and, in episode 3, we’ll begin to find out the consequences of those actions. Did Frankenmountain learn his head crushing skills from Troma films? Will the Dothraki spinster camp be more, or less, fun than Butlins in Skegness? And should the Red Woman should market that anti-ageing necklace, with a 4 week lifespan to guarantee additional sales? We take a look at some of the weeks film & TV news, inc.: - Blues Brothers Cartoon? - Fall of the Navigator - Alicia Vikander IS Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - 2 Knights, One Cup – Bale & Malick team for Knight of Cups - Sorkin + Elba x Poker = Awesome We introduce a new segment, Trailer of the Week where we pick the best looking trailer that week. The choice for this episode is The Shallows, starring Blake Lively. Finally, to coincide with the release of the latest instalment of the hit video game series we review the 2005 adaptation, Doom: Controversial computer game Doom, released in 1993, made shooting demons in the face a whole lot of fun. 12 years later, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Karl “The Dredd” Urban in a live action film where they to visit Mars and shoot demons in the face. Will the cast smell what Dwayne is cooking? Can Urban feel a chill in his bones? And does Dexter Fletcher use his Press Gang voice? BFGC - Game of Thrones S6 E2
Following on from the season setting first episode, we are back with our spoiler filled review of Episode 2. There are lots of unanswered questions, as always. Does anyone else switch off during the bits they’re not interested in? Will there be another hilarious fatality? And is Jon Snow really dead, even after being spotted on the streets of Belfast? We attempt to answer none of these in our look at S6: E2 of Game of Thrones WARNING: This show contains SPOILERS for Game of Thrones up to, and including, Season 6 Episode 2. BFGC #12 - American Ninja 2: The Confrontation
The greatest double act in action cinema return for round 2, and we’re not talking Riggs and Murtagh. Michael Dudikoff and Steve James are back as Army Rangers Joe Armstrong and Curtis Jackson. This time they bring their Ninjutsu skills to stop some shady business going down in the Caribbean. But is Dudikoff considerably less sweaty this time? Did they really think that South Africa could double as Jamaica? And will we get down with Steve James’ boogieing? Ben and Foz break out the smoke bombs to see if Ninja magic can strike twice, or if these assassins are second rate. BFGC #11 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
In 1974, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre brought new meaning to skin on skin action. Leatherface? Get it? Oh, please yourselves. 12 years later culinary cannibals, the Sawyer family, are back to add more long pig to the menu. Hot on their heels is maniac Marshall Dennis Hopper. But who will survive, and will we care what will be left of them? Does man meat actually taste like chicken? And was Dennis hopped up on laughing gas when he signed on? Ben and Foz take the vegan option, to be safe, and see whether this sequel is a petrol powered pleasure, or if it’s run out of gas. BFGC Game of Thrones S6 E1
Returning for a 6th season, it’s the television cultural phenomenon that can’t be ignored. No, not Teen Wolf. It is, of course, Game of Thrones. The HBO show that adds bloodletting and boobs to Lord of the Rings. Following on from a slightly more subdued year in 2015, and no longer slave to George RR Martin’s novels, will this year mark a return to form? Join us for a brief recap of seasons 1-5, and a review of the debut episode. CAUTION: There will be spoilers in this episode. DO NOT LISTEN, if you are not fully up to date with GoT.

BFGC #10 - Wild Wild West
After the mega-smash hit Men in Black, superstar Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld reteamed for this revisionist western. Unforgiven this ain’t, though, as Clint Eastwood’s movie didn’t have a giant steam powered spider. Will Kevin Kline stick a chip up someone’s nose? Who persuaded Salma Hayek to wear open backed long johns? And will Will remain fresh in desert? Ben and Foz put on some leather chaps to see if Will Smith and co. are wild, styled & blessed or just a mild, reviled pest. BFGC #9 - Say It Isn't So
The Farrelly brothers made their names with movies that warm your heart and make you feel sick at the same time. Critics and audiences, however, thought a film about love between alleged siblings was a step too far. But is Chris Klein like this in real life? Will Mark Pellegrino play an evil douchebag like normal? And what in the hell made Oscar winner Sally Field accept a part in this film? Ben and Foz check their genealogy and see if this bad taste movie is a family affair to remember, or something to better left repressed. BFGC #8 - Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Dark Knight of Gotham versus Son of Krypton, in a duel to the… well I’m pretty sure it won’t end in death. They’ve all got to return for the sequels haven’t they. But is Ben Affleck enough of a daredevil to do the stunts? Is Henry Cavill the man to make Batman cry uncle? And does Jesse Eisenberg's face book him a ticket to bad guy brilliance? Ben and Foz put their pants on the outside and see if this a new dawn, or the doomsday for DC’s film ambitions. BFGC #7 - American Ninja
Ninja, those famous masked assassins, were everywhere in the mid-80s. In this film they were portrayed by that embodiment of Japan, the blonde haired, blue eyed Michael Dudikoff. Will they eat pizza in a sewer? Are their costumes made out of the US flag? And how can you tell the difference between a Ninja and a 1970s terrorist? BFGC #6 - License To Drive
The dreamboat, dream team of the late 80’s, Corey’s Haim and Feldman, went from driving stakes into vampires to driving cars into the ground in this teen comedy. Does anyone else wish Richard Masur and Carol Kane were their parents? Did Corey Feldman ever have decent fashion sense? And will you be shouting ‘Yo, Uncle Phil’ at the screen? Ben and Foz take the theory test to see if it raises the stakes, or if it’s so dead they have to bury it twice. Don't be shy. BFGC #5 - Masters Of The Universe
Legendary cheapskates, Cannon Films, took a toy advert of a cartoon, and turned it into a live action adventure film. Every penny spent is up on screen, but was every expense spared? Is Mensa man Dolph Lundgren just too smart for the role? How did they smuggle a Yamaha sound chip into Eternia? And why didn’t Monica ever mention this happened in Friends? Join Ben and Foz at Castle Grayskull, to find out if it captures the spirit of a breathtaking Battlecat, or a cowardly Cringer. Don't be shy. BFGC #4 - Cool As Ice
Classic biker drama The Wild One is reimagined for the 90s replacing Harleys with Hondas, and a certain Robert van Winkle taking on the Brando role. But hold on. Isn’t van Winkle better known as Vanilla Ice? This is the film that was supposed to launch Ice as a movie icon. Does Ice rock a camera like a vandal? Can supermodel Naomi Campbell convince as a singer? And isn’t Vanilla considered the most boring of ice cream flavours? Ben and Foz collaborate and listen to see if Ice arrives with a brand new invention, or will he melt under pressure. Don't be shy. BFGC Oscars 2016 Prediction
Oscars 2016 Special. The guys got together to cast a Spotlight on this year’s Best Film nominees… based only on the trailer. If you cast both Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleason, would it guarantee a nomination? Coming back from the dead is it better be The Martian or The Revenant? Will there be Room for a Brooklyn Bridge of Spies? And will The Big Short starring Christian Bale turn one of our hosts into Mad Max? Join Ben and Foz as they assess the candidates to see who will take home a little golden man, and who deserves the wooden spoon. Don't be shy. BGFC #3 - Lookin' Italian
Just before hitting the big time in Friends, Matt LeBlanc starred as a wannabe gangster in this crime drama. LeBlanc perfectly embodied Joey, so it might be difficult to accept him in a serious role. Will Lou Rawls break into song? Will anyone from the Sopranos make an appearance? And would it be a better film if it starred Joey Tribbiani? Ben and Foz order in a calzone to see if LeBlanc’s last pre-Friends work is more Mac & Cheese or Mac & Me. Don't be shy. BFGC #2 - Highlander 2: The Quickening
The original Highlander is an 80’s classic. Cool, stylish and exciting, with a rocking Queen soundtrack. It’s the best ever Scottish, swordsman show on the silver screen. However, 1991’s Highlander 2 does not have a Queen soundtrack, and seems to be largely ignored by everyone. Has Christopher Lambert’s accent improved? Does b-movie legend Michael Ironside, put in a career best performance? And will Sean Connery channel his inner bagpipes? Ben and Foz travel through time to find out if it’s an unsung prince of the universe, or should there be only one. Don't be shy. BFGC #1 - Season Of The Witch
A-list movie star Nicholas Cage is an Oscar winning, BAFTA nominated actor. Much loved character actor Ron Perlman has a Golden Globe. So, what are they both doing in a Game of Thrones knock-off? Does Nicolas deliver a cagey performance? Can Ron Perlman do a decent job, without being hidden by make up? And why does the, largely, British cast insist on using American accents? Join Ben and Foz as they find out if this medieval road movie is more Nic & Ron’s Excellent Adventure, or a cartwheeling Bogus Journey. Don't be shy.
