TAGP 94: How Cross Questions Can Help Eliminate Your Health Anxiety And GAD

"Creating Enough Doubt Around The Irrational Story Can Alter Your Path Completely."
During my anxiety recovery days I remember my personal mentor telling me something that to this day has made a lasting impression on me. He said 'human beings don't take the time to question their irrational thoughts, and that leads to problems.' From that moment on I had a few deep realizations that I conjured up that would help my health anxiety and GAD greatly.

I realized that if we can pay great attention to one side of a story, we can also condition ourselves to listen intently onto the other side of the story

This never occurred to me during my 6 year struggle with health anxiety and GAD. I would also get emotional, in a self sabotaging way over every irrational, fear based thought I had. I beat myself up over why I thought and felt this way, and I blamed everyone from the big G, to my family for raising me in this manner.

Blaming people and coming up with excuses was easy, learning how to accept and reject a thought was challenging

So I chose the easy route, every time. Until I began to implement cross questions into my health anxiety and GAD recovery journey. Cross questions create cognitive and behavioural flexibility in a person. It gets them out of narrow minded thinking and into big picture thinking, and begins to eliminate the self doubt and fear people live with. With this said let's get into it.

In episode #94 of the anxiety guy podcast we're going deep into:

Why cross questions work so well for health anxiety and GAD
How one skill set learned and implemented right can change everything
What kept me suffering from chronic anxiety without me even knowing it at the time

The post TAGP 94: How Cross Questions Can Help Eliminate Your Health Anxiety And GAD appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 93: The Single Most Powerful Guided Visualization For Anxiety

"Control Your Internal Images Or The World Will Do It For You."

Get ready for the most powerful guided visualization for anxiety exercise you can do anytime throughout your day. In many of my videos and podcast episodes you'll hear me discuss the importance of controlling your energy fields and emotions. Whatever sort of vibration you give off to the world you get back in return, which is why today's podcast is so important.

Today we're going to create a feeling within you that will lead to a perspective shift that will lead to a change in beliefs!

Along with this powerful guided visualization for anxiety there are a few very crucial principles that I will go over today. These are much like the principles I teach in my program that have taken many people from suffering to freedom. What is freedom you ask? freedom is a deep understanding of what doesn't work, and what does. It's becoming open minded to new possibilities, and seeing your challenges in a whole new light.

Remember, these sorts of changes don't happen overnight though, you've practiced anxiety for quite some time

Which is why it's even more important to begin recognizing what doesn't work. The first thing I can tell you that won't work, is your approach to your problems. Managing, coping, dealing with anxiety are all adding to the ceiling you put on how far you can go, and how pleasant your life can be.

We must consciously take a new stand, and understand that there are people in everyday life that no longer manage anxiety, but see it as a previous identity they once had, a misinterpretation that they figured out in time. Their core beliefs changed, their actions changed, and their lifestyle changed.

In Episode #93 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I Discuss:

How this one guided visualization for anxiety can change the way you feel
How starting the day with the feelings you want more of is key
Why it's so crucial to create a plan for anxiety recovery

The post TAGP 93: The Single Most Powerful Guided Visualization For Anxiety appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 92: 3 Powerful Ways To Reverse Negative Thinking Patterns

Be Vigilant, Guard Your Mind Against Negative Thoughts. - Buddha
Negative thinking will never give you a positive life. We know the rule but for some reason we find it difficult to shift our thinking all together, until today. In episode #92 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I want to peel the onion when it comes to negative thinking patterns, and reveal the unconscious anchors that hold us back from moving forward.

It's Not That I Never Get Negative Thoughts Anymore, I Just Have An Ability To Re-focus My Attention On The Thoughts That Will Serve Me Better, Quickly.

One of the biggest contributors to this shift in thinking for me was coming to the understanding that I had the ability to choose. Choosing what thought I built on further, and what thought I rejected gave me the power to move my life in a new direction. This is what I want to teach you today.

The 3 ways I mention in this podcast on how to reverse negative thinking patterns should be a goal you implement this entire week, and hopefully carry forward for the rest of your life as new habits. Having a powerful structure, a method such as this one will be slightly foreign at first. Because it uses up a certain amount of internal resources, most people live on auto-pilot without any kind of conscious awareness, so they associate thinking to pain.
Following The Way The Rest Of The Herd Thinks Will Always Get You The Same Results As Everyone Else.
We must break out of the norm, we must gain control over our perceptions, our feelings, and our beliefs. So in today's episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we dive deep into:

Where negative thinking patterns originate from
What unconscious factors keep these negative thinking patterns alive
How to separate your day to send new signals to your entire system to promote positive change

Don't Forget To Share Your Thoughts And Input In The Comment Section Below.

The post TAGP 92: 3 Powerful Ways To Reverse Negative Thinking Patterns appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 91: The Anxiety Problem Solving Model You Can Begin Today

"Prepare For A Crisis Well Before It Happens."
I get many emails every day from people dealing with anxiety asking me for tips and advice. Many times though I'm quite hesitant about giving the tip or advice because I'm just not sure about the person's back story, and how they'll use the advice.

I find it to be very similar to a homeless person (some not all) that we give money to and upon receiving it taking that money and buying booze with it.

The anxiety tips and advice given to a highly sensitized person who implements them without the proper levels of understanding and commitment, may just be digging a bigger hole for themselves. This hole can affect their self esteem, the capabilities they think they have, and ability to create long lasting change.
So What's The Answer? An Anxiety Problem Solving Method That Can Pinpoint The Best Option For You
That's what I want to share with you today. A step by step example of what you'll need to do to gain a deeper understanding of the cause of the anxiety, and the solution that will work best for the long term. This model is not complicated because there's no need for it to be. It will however get you to peel the layers of the onion back a few to uncover the answers.

In the end what we want is to get back to living. That means something different for everyone but for the generalized anxiety sufferers that I work with through my program, it means being less internal surrounded by useless and debilitating chatter, and getting more external doing the things we love.

In episode #91 of the anxiety guy podcast I will reveal:

The easiest way to uncover the root of your anxiety
How this method can be implemented for multiple challenges you're facing
The power you have internally right now

The post TAGP 91: The Anxiety Problem Solving Model You Can Begin Today appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 90: The #1 Root Cause Of Your Anxiety

"Every Brain is Wired Differently, And That Wiring Can Change Over Time."
One bright summer day about 8 years ago at the peak of my anxiety disorder I sat at the end of a park bench and asked the universe two questions; 'Why me?' And 'where did all this negative internal chatter come from!' The universe didn't reply that day, but my subconscious mind began the steps to reveal the answers in time.

I began brainstorming how I had wired my brain in such a way that anxiety always lurked around the corner. A pencil that was blue (same colour I focused on during my first panic attack) was enough to send me into a spiral of fight or flight responses, and it sucked.
"I Just Want To Be My Old Self Again!"
I yelled at the top my lungs later on that week, but my brain wasn't easily convinced. The system that was my 3 brains starting with my Reptilian Brain (survival), my Mammalian Brain (emotions), and my Neo Cortex (rational/analytical brain) weren't working together as they all saw things differently.

My reptile brain recognized a threat that sent signals to my emotional brain to release the stress hormones that were my fight or flight response, and as much as I tried to consciously fight back it was no use. The oldest part of my brain would be too strong and the symptoms of anxiety came fast and powerfully each time.

I Realized This Internal Conflict Was A Major Factor In My Anxiety

I had to find ways to stop fighting, start accepting, and begin understanding the cycle better. So I began looking deep into my patterns prior to anxiety, during, and after, and I came to an understanding of what didn't work, and what I needed to do to stop the anxiety cycle once and for all.

In episode #90 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we'll understand:

How internal conflict leads to prolonged anxiety
What patterns cause further internal conflict
What you can begin doing today to create better rapport between your conscious and unconscious mind

The post TAGP 90: The #1 Root Cause Of Your Anxiety appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 89: 5 Keys To Overcoming Relaxation Induced Anxiety

"Too Many Of Us Are Not Living Our Dreams Because We Are Too Busy Living Our Fears."
Studied have shown that about 15% of people are prone to relaxation induced anxiety. What is relaxation induced anxiety? It's simply the fear of partaking in any behaviour that is relaxing and calming for the majority of people in the world today. The idea itself can throw a person into an anxious loop that can lead to other emotions such as anger and disgust in themselves.
"Whenever Someone Told Me To Relax, Steam Started Coming Out Of My Ears! A Combination Of Their Ignorance For My Anxiety Disorder And My Inability To Find Any Peace Was Overwhelming."
The first thing I had to do was quit the blame game. If no one ever went through health anxiety, generalized anxiety, or panic disorder how could I expect them to truly get the message? So that was a good starting point for me. Than it was a recognition of my initial internal responses to partaking in relaxing exercises, I had to re-organize these right away and gain control back.

I needed to understand that relaxation induced anxiety was my fault and no one else's. My unconscious patterns, my limiting beliefs, and my avoidance behaviours. I heard a term going around in the Neuroscience world at the time called Neuroplasticity, which refers to the ability of the mind to alter it's own pathways and change it's connections.

"Could I Un-due What I Had Created?" I Wondered...

The truth is yes, we can overcome relaxation induced anxiety. Which is a big relief to hear because we all deserve to find peace in our lives. We're not machines created only to finish our to-do lists, we're much more than that and have much to contribute to this world through our unique abilities.

In Episode #89 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Look Into:

What Life Is Like With Relaxation Induced Anxiety
What Your Anxiety Support Team Needs To Understand
The Most Important Knowledge You Need To Hear Today To Overcome Relaxation Induced Anxiety

Comment Below On Your Experiences With Relaxation Induced Anxiety!

The post TAGP 89: 5 Keys To Overcoming Relaxation Induced Anxiety appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 88: 3 Powerful Ways You Can Use Social Media To Improve Your Mental Health

"When The Thought Of Logging Off Social Media Leaves You With A Cold Sweat You Need A Wake Up Call, And Here It Is."
Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, etc., are certainly the channels that engage most internet users. Social media has however also become a factor in causing anxiety and adding to the turmoil people experience with their mental health. Mental health experts all over the world are of the opinion that social media plays a significant role in the rising instances of anxiety among adolescents, teens, and adults.

"But Today Is The Day We Turn Everything Around And Gain Back Our Sense Of Self Control!"

Some people are so addicted to social media and consequently overwhelmed with anxiety that they are unable to attend work or carry out routine tasks in their everyday life. Also let's not forget the thousands of teens who could eventually grow up and be unable to cope and overcome the challenges and complexities of their daily lives.

A study found that from 1985 to 2016 the total number of freshmen from UCLA who reported feelings of being “inundated” soared from 18% to 41%. On a nationwide scale in the US, the rate of ‘crushing teen anxiety’ among university students soared to 62% in 2016 from 50% in 2011.

Social media has been found to be just one of the several triggers of anxiety for people in todays world; other factors include over-commitment and perfectionism in privileged children and the almost-real, constant threat of instability and violence in working-class and poor teenagers.

Smartphones can also be very damaging

Anxiety experts have offered warnings against the false impression or ‘illusion’ of power/control that smartphones can offer people who seek to insulate and isolate themselves. This false sense of control can be helpful as a coping mechanism in the short term. However, it will prevent anxiety sufferers from gaining the skill sets and resilience necessary to flourish in life.

In This Powerful Anxiety Guy Podcast Focused On Social Media We Dive Into:

How one simple tweak can change the way you see and use social media
How certain social media messages that are outside of your awareness are affecting your anxiety and mental health
What you can expect by implementing the 3 powerful steps in this podcast episode

The post TAGP 88: 3 Powerful Ways You Can Use Social Media To Improve Your Mental Health appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 87: The Two Different Types Of Health Anxiety Sufferers

"Health Anxiety Sufferers Are Some Of The Bravest People In The World, Period."
Welcome to the bewildering world of health anxiety. A world where getting through the day is a huge accomplishment, where every new symptom of anxiety (if we could only see it as that) is a death sentence, and where people just simply won't understand, so we prefer to go mute.

"Health Anxiety Is One Of The Fastest Rising Mental Health Problems That's Getting The Least Amount Of Proper Attention."

As much as you believe your case of health anxiety is different, it's not. There are millions of health anxiety sufferers (many of which I work with online) going through sensitivity at varying degrees who are bewildered, frustrated, and incredibly associated internally, sometimes for 24 hours a day.

It's incredibly important for health anxiety sufferers to begin becoming the second group of people I talk about in this podcast, as well as acquire the 3 A's starting today; Acquisition - Acquiring the proper information for recovery, Assimilation - Studying and understanding the information fully, Application - Taking every anxious moment to practice what is learned and understood.

The 3 A's are your simplified but still powerful road-map to desensitization. Health anxiety sufferers usually get stuck between understanding the information better and being able to implement it. The memories are just so pervasive sometimes that the conscious mind is the first one to check out when a sabre toothed tiger such as a sensation of anxiety, or the word cancer comes into the forefront.

"I've Been There, It Sucks, And It's Temporary For You."

Because you're in a good place now. The Anxiety Guy Podcast is here weekly (don't forget to subscriber on iTunes)to show you that you've got options as far as your thinking and what to believe, your emotions and how you react, and your actions and how you behave in the face of uncertainty.

In Episode #87 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Understand:

Why so many health anxiety sufferers get stuck in the first group for so long
What to expect when you begin to embark in a whole new approach to health anxiety recovery
Why so many health anxiety sufferers live with such internal pain on a daily basis

The post TAGP 87: The Two Different Types Of Health Anxiety Sufferers appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 86: Top 10 Essential Elements To Excellent Mental Health

"Excellent Mental Health Helps Us To More Fully Enjoy And Appreciate The People And Environments Around Us."
In a world of information overload, societal pressures, and media bombardment gaining excellent mental health and clarity can be challenging. That's why I've comprised this top 10 list for excellent mental health to get you right back to focusing on the right things.

You're born with only two fears; The fear of loud noises and the fear of falling, everything else you learned on planet earth. Growing up you may have inherited many of the same values and beliefs from your parents, and other authority figures. With repetition you cemented those beliefs, and created blind spots to anything that went against those.

That's why it's crucial that we question our thoughts, core beliefs, and behaviours to see if they truly promote fulfillment

There is no doubt about the fact that we live in troubling and uncertain times and this can prevent us from achieving clarity and excellent mental health. There is constant talk of war, perennial threat of terrorist attacks, sleazy politics and corrupt politicians, an economy that works only for the rich and powerful, widespread discontent, ravages wrecked by floods, earthquakes, and other natural calamities caused by climate change.

It is very difficult to stay sane in the middle of such developments that provoke and incite anxiety!

The process of calming anxiety and gaining excellent mental health however takes an effort. We have to engage in physical and mental activities to ensure that anxiety and clear and present mental health is kept at manageable levels for our continued functioning, and for proper rational response in the future when we are suddenly faced with crisis.

In This Important Episode Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We'll Discuss:

What sort of unconscious patterns promote a lack of good mental health
How to quickly turn your current anxious and fear based reality around
The fastest way to gain excellent mental health for you, friends, and loved ones

The post TAGP 86: Top 10 Essential Elements To Excellent Mental Health appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 84: How Noise Pollution Is Affecting Your Anxiety Levels

"Of All The Varieties Of Modern Pollution, Noise Pollution Is The Most Insidious."
Could increased and steady noise be affecting your anxiety levels? Absolutely and here's why; you don't have to be consciously aware of something for it to be affecting you in some way. Getting to the bottom of noise pollution in your life is a very important matter because it could simply change everything.

Turning a noisy environment into a calm one can give you the peace you need that will lead you to emotional insight; the ability to see another way to think and act about something. Noise pollution is a big problem in today's world and we're rarely aware of it, until now.

It's Important To Take A Good Listen To Your Immediate Environments And Ask Yourself 'Could This Be Affecting Me?'

With realization comes a new mindset, with a new mindset you can take action to change some aspect of your life that may be causing you increased anxiety. Noise pollution is a massive problem today as more and more people are becoming more and more stressed out. But we can change that, we can be the conscious ones while the world lives through their unconscious pre-programmed fear based states.

Many times one big realization can change everything. This realization can lead to calmness in your life, and this calmness can lessen the amount of fight or flight you feel. When the parasympathetic nervous system is on, you begin the process of resting and digesting, this is a good thing if we want to move from internal chaos to a constant state of self control.

In episode #84 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we look into:

3 ways you can begin eliminating noise pollution from your life
How noise pollution is affecting your fight or flight system
Why it's so important to recognize how your environment plays a part

The post TAGP 84: How Noise Pollution Is Affecting Your Anxiety Levels appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 83: The 3 Types Of Thinkers In The World

"Old Ways Wont Open Up New Doors."
Have you ever thought about why you connect so well with the people you do? The truth is that thinking styles tend to stick together and you'll find that to be the case with most of your relationships. But could your thinking style also be affecting your emotional and mental health? Absolutely, so it's time to dive deep into this topic today as you learn something new about you.

All thinking styles have their pros and cons, but some hold the person accountable while others are wired to make excuses. Excuses for why they're not where they want to be, for why they feel the way they do, and these people need a serious wake up call in the form of this episode.

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes.

There's also the opposite of these styles of thinking in the form of being guided and open minded. These people have immense flexibility in thought and behaviour, are in touch with their spiritual side, and see things clearer than most. This is a thinking style that we all have the opportunity to adopt, and in turn alter the path of our lives

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to change its processes, and it's within each of us. If you're currently living a life of anxiety, dread, panic, catastrophic thinking, and just can't get a firm grasp over your life this episode will open your eyes to a new you. With this knowledge you can move into the world more open minded and with deeper a understanding.

In Episode #83 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Look Into:

How you adopted the thinking style you currently have
Why it's so vital to change your current conditioning
How a new thinking style will create a different reality for you

The post TAGP 83: The 3 Types Of Thinkers In The World appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 82: How The System Created And Fuels Your Generalized Anxiety

"Open Your Eyes, Look Within. Are You Satisfied With The Life You're Living?"
The system bombards you with learning stuff you don't need. The system subliminally teaches you to fear things that don't need fearing. The system fuels your anxiety so you fall in line with today's first line of treatments. Welcome to the system.

You came to this world as a blank slate, you were a sponge absorbing all the information presented to you and installing fear after fear into your life. You came to this world with only two fears; The fear of loud noises, and the fear of falling. Generalized anxiety for the most part wasn't your fault, but it is your responsibility to overcome.

"It's In Your Hands Now, Just Open Your Eyes."

We're told to shoot for our dreams without being shown how to deal with obstacles. Dealing with those obstacles are the very things we need to learn growing up to succeed over things that don't make us feel right. But no one teaches us these lessons, and our parents can't teach us what they don't know. This is a dangerous place to be if you never stop and question your own beliefs.

Because if you don't learn how to solve problems in this lifetime, the world will bombard you with anxiety provoking experiences one after another. Life truly begins when you gain a sense of direction in your life and you begin understanding one very important lesson:
You are not your past, and you are not this system.
You have a creative genius within you itching to be connected to, if only you would listen in silence, and understand that there will be a price to pay for this change you want to create. Only question is are you willing to pay the price, and become temporary uncomfortable as you begin your path towards overcoming Generalized Anxiety.

The Anxiety Guy Podcast #82 Will Share:

The unconscious reasons for why generalized anxiety continues to play out in your life
Why overcoming generalized anxiety is such an uphill climb for you
How the system prevents you from anxiety recovery

The post TAGP 82: How The System Created And Fuels Your Generalized Anxiety appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 81: The Unconscious Fears Of Overcoming Health Anxiety

"Overcoming Health Anxiety Means Committing To A New Reality That You Want To Live In."
Imagine for a second that you're trying to lose 50 pounds of excess weight. You religiously diet, exercise, and do everything by the book, but hold a belief in your unconscious mind that you will always be overweight. What will the result be? You guessed it, no progress whatsoever. Why is this the case you may ask?

Because we inherently resist anything that contradicts with how we see ourselves, how we thinking others will see us, and anything that goes against our core beliefs.

Overcoming health anxiety also has its unconscious roadblocks, and I see it daily with people I work with through the program. These unconscious fears can be altered, and you can once again create the same brain circuitry you once lived with prior to health anxiety and GAD. But you must first be aware of them, because everything starts with self awareness.

The memories that we hold onto that create pairings in our minds prevent us from achieving what we want to in this world. Most people try and change their external circumstances before changing their internal ones. Most people look for the magic pill or 1 skill set that will help in overcoming health anxiety and are gravely disappointed when something they try doesn't work.

How Could It? You Have No History Of Success Behind This New Approach, So Why Would Your Anxiously Programmed Mind Accept?

It won't, but we can begin to change this programming. Many people don't know what the the third eye is, or what use the pineal gland may be to their lives.

It's best to understand the third eye as the eye of knowledge and wisdom. TAGP 79: The 5 Stages Of The Anxiety Trance

"The Most Common Way People Give Up Their Power Is By Thinking They Don't Have Any."
There was a time in my life where life went fast, painfully fast. I was in an anxiety trance and didn't even realize it. I couldn't feel (no emotions), I couldn't hear (too internal), and I couldn't see (again, way to internally focused). The anxiety trance is a seemingly never-ending journey of coping and managing to get by, but that simply isn't good enough.

There are 4 states of the mind which are:

Beta - Normal awake state, busy, many thoughts, very active mind
Alpha - Day dreaming, relaxed, meditative
Theta - Deep trance, inspirational
Delta - Asleep, no conscious awareness

Most people during awakened hours go through life in a beta state rarely tapping into the power of the alpha, or theta. This may come as no surprise to many considering the pressures we feel from the world. We have to be the best employee, best husband/wife, father, friend, driver, time manager etc.

"I Started To Understand Myself Only When I Destroyed Myself. In The Process Of Progress And Recovery I Began To Realize Who I Truly Was."

This sort of endless focus on being perfect everyday can make a person very imperfect. Its draining, and depletes people to the point where thinking becomes painful. For me the very thought of taking control of my life was painful, I always searched for the quick cure for my anxiety trance, health anxiety, generalized anxiety etc, with no real lasting success.

In Episode #79 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I Discuss:

How you got into the anxiety trance in the first place
Why society craves fear and drama
The fastest way to get out of the anxiety trance and back into fulfillment

Live The Life You Deserve, Learn More About The #1 CBT Based Program For Health Anxiety And GAD Today.

The post TAGP 79: The 5 Stages Of The Anxiety Trance appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 78: Here’s What’s Keeping Your Panic And Anxiety Alive

"Nobody Realizes The Tremendous Amounts Of Energy Some People Expend Trying To Be And Feel Normal."
Anger, bewilderment, regret, hesitation, need I go on about life with panic and anxiety? It's important to understand what not to do, as much as what to do when confronted with panic and anxiety. Since we're faced with a bombardment of information from the world on a daily basis, most people feel like they don't even have the time to organize their own thoughts.

I Call This State Of Being The Pressure Cooker! A State That Fuels Panic And Anxiety.

That's why i'm so excited to bring you this podcast episode, because I've lived it, a lot! It sucks, but there are lessons to be learned. Remember one of the many beautiful NLP presuppositions which states that there is no failure only feedback. Which means the negative state we find ourselves in on a daily basis, is a call for action from our subconscious minds.

Our subconscious minds bring up memories from the past asking us what to do with this information. If we do nothing to change it, the meaning stays the same, nothing is altered, and the state goes on until the next time it pops up.

The mind is very open to change, remember that. Your subconscious mind loves you unconditionally, whether you believe it right now or not. This journey will create a power within that you and many other people will be proud of. You will take these lessons and help your loved ones, friends etc overcome their own challenges. So with that said...

Here Are The Top 3 Lessons We'll Be Learning From This Episode:

What you do unconsciously to keep panic and anxiety alive
How to begin changing your version of reality which will lead to less stress and anxiousness
How changing this one habit can shift your state of panic and anxiety quickly

Enjoying The Podcast? TAGP 77: Dealing With Anxiety The Right Way

"When You Begin Realizing That You Have More Control Than You Originally Thought Over Yourself, Change Happens."
That moment, the moment you realize something that never occurred to you before, it's magic. Realizations like thoughts are just thoughts, we have 60,000 thoughts a day so why do I focus on the ones that keep me anxious, and that negative feelings can be a signal and a lesson are the golden nuggets that lead to recovery.

Dealing with anxiety properly is vital especially if our daily activities are affected by it. TAGP 76: Top 10 Ways To Overcome Sleep Anxiety

"Sleep Is The Most Important Part Of Recovery."
Anxiety is a state of nervousness or agitation, especially prevalent when we are under extreme stress or are facing a difficult situation in our lives that must be resolved. The problem with sleep anxiety is that it can heighten the amygdala's (your fight or flight response) interest, and you may find yourself sensitive to everyday things.

In episode #76 of the anxiety guy podcast I want to make sure that each and every sleep anxiety sufferer out there begins getting relief. This relief may not come overnight, but with careful attention to the very things in your environment, and your thought patterns, sleep anxiety relief is within your grasp.

Sleep Is The Best Form Of Meditation...

Someone once told me. During my health anxiety and generalized anxiety struggles there were times where I was exhausted, and didn't know whether to to try and sleep or to meditate. If I slept I would miss an opportunity to focus on my breathing patterns and mindfulness. If I meditated I would be exhausted the next day. What's a sufferer to do? I thought to myself.
Sleep Anxiety Can Cause Nightmares, Sleep Disturbances, And Much More
If nightmares disturb your sleep, if you wake suddenly in the night, or if you tend to sleepwalk, these are important signs. Other symptoms can include restless legs, insomnia or sleep interference. Researchers have determined that people who experience an interruption in their sleep patterns are likely to see a dramatic increase in this disturbance later on. They also suggest that there is a high correlation between insomnia and anxiety.

Since anxiety can be directly attributed to the loss of sleep and interruptions during the night, remedying the anxiety will kill two birds with one stone. In episode #76 of the anxiety guy podcast we learn about:

What sleep debt feels like, and what to do about it
How REM sleep is the deepest type of sleep
The #1 thing you must do today to begin overcoming sleep anxiety

The post TAGP 76: Top 10 Ways To Overcome Sleep Anxiety appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 75: Top 10 Words Of Wisdom You Need To Hear Today

"In Life What You Really Want, Will Never Come Easily."
Inspiration is important, very important. These words of wisdom will begin to help create a vision for your life. Without a vision our minds don't know what direction to go, so we become stale. Brooding in our misery of how difficult everything is.

Inspiration often comes during the task you're involved in, and after the task is completed. Not before. This is especially the case if you happen to be feeling depressed, anxious, angry or ‘off’ in some other kind of way. As you NOW ACT and keep ACTING NOW, that is when the drive and belief begins to build within you.

As inspiration builds, more empowering thoughts and feelings tend to follow closely behind

Have you ever felt un-motivated to go to work, exercise, go out, but did it anyway? And, the more you did it, the more motivated you started to feel and by the end of it you were feeling really inspired and driven to do more?

Of course! That is because motivation is the reward, not the starting point. All acts require the most effort in the beginning. Starting is the hardest part. When you keep ACTING NOW, it becomes easier, more motivating and more satisfying.

It’s like pushing a boulder down a hill. The first big push is the hardest, but once you’re rolling it becomes easier and easier. Then when you feel the reward of getting to the bottom of the hill, that’s when you feel the most motivated - after it’s over.

These Words Of Wisdom Will Provide You With The Fuel To Begin, Or Stay On Track Towards A Definite Purpose

Think of it this way. It will not matter what you think, if you don’t act in the way you want to act. Without acting now, your beliefs will lead you nowhere. You will start to develop new disempowering beliefs because you can’t lie to yourself. This is why people who use affirmations without doing anything to act on them, become depressed.

In Episode #75 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Dive Into:

The truth behind motivation
How words of wisdom such as these can be used properly
Why most people stay stuck in their lives

Enjoying The Podcast? TAGP 74: Does Luck Play A Part In Health Anxiety Recovery?

"Victims Believe In Luck, Warriors Believe In Cause And Effect."
The pain of going through health anxiety is very real. Many other challenges like GAD and Panic Disorder can also jump on the bandwagon and can overwhelm even the strongest willed people. At the point of severe health anxiety someone might even believe that the way back will be like climbing Mount Everest.

It's What I Believed For Years

Little did I realize at the time though that my mind was open to change. It was available to ride the wave of anxiety symptoms, it was available to change my past beliefs around health and the fear of death, and also it was open to ruminating over rational though patterns instead.

Years later today, long after my initial health anxiety recovery I am faced with the words "how did you get so lucky" on a daily basis. I quickly feel the pain of health anxiety suffering from these people, while at the same time feel the need to explain the truth.
"The truth doesn't come with a serving up motivational videos and inspirational quotes thoughts."
The truth doesn't come from saying things like 'man up' or 'learn to relax.' The truth is that understanding is power. The understanding of how the mind interprets threats, and how we must begin speaking the language of our Cortex (thinking brain) and our Amygdala (Emotional Brain) if we want to reach the point of natural health anxiety recovery.

Here Are The Main Topics We'll Be Discussing In The Anxiety Guy Podcast #74:

How changing mindsets from needing instant relief to long term progress is key
How hope and faith play no role in anyones true health anxiety recovery
How simple realizations after gaining proper knowledge can bring understanding and relief

Learn More About The #1 CBT Based Health Anxiety Recovery Program Today.

The post TAGP 74: Does Luck Play A Part In Health Anxiety Recovery? appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 73: Channeling The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind

"Whether You Think You Can Or Think You Cant, You're Right." Henry Ford

Your subconscious mind records your every emotional reaction to each experience you have, think about this for a second. Why do happy people stay happy no matter what crosses their paths, and negative people stay negative?
Simply Because Your Subconscious Can't Differentiate Between What's Good Or Bad, It's All Information To The Subconscious Mind.
Judging the quality of information received doesn't work well with the subconscious mind. But it will keep you focused on information that keeps you feeling the way you do, because it believe that's what's kept you alive all this time.

As long as someone sees themselves as anxious, the subconscious mind will continuously sort for information that keeps them anxious. That's why lucky people get luckier, and people that play the victim care everyday keep digging themselves in deeper and deeper holes in life.

Let's Remember That It Always Comes Down To The Amount Of Repetition That Takes Place Before The Subconscious Mind Stores It And Activates It In The Future.

This is why habits are so important, and self awareness is the key to changing habits. But in my 6 year struggle with health anxiety and GAD I didn't know how to think, only react! If an emotion popped up that I disliked, I reacted. If a thought was brought to my awareness, I reacted. I had no self control at all.

I then realized that when I started to act in awareness of my habits, my higher self acted as a guardian for my mind. This allowed me to step aside and see my thoughts and emotions from a new perspective. One that put the power right back into my hands, and soon your hands as well.

Episode #73 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast Shares:

How your subconscious mind is contributing to your overall daily state
How patterns you've picked up through childhood still play out today
Why the subconscious mind doesn't accept new thoughts/beliefs so quickly

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 72: My Health Anxiety Journey Through Medications, Support, And Setbacks

"Life Gave Me The Biggest Beating Imaginable, And It Wasn't Until I Learned The Lesson That I Succeeded."

Sometimes when you hear the health anxiety journey and recovery story first hand it adds much relief. Medications, anxiety support teams, and setbacks are something every health anxiety sufferer thinks of and experiences in their journey. Which is the inspiration behind this anxiety guy podcast episode.

The Definition Of Insanity Is Partaking In The Same Patterns And Habits And Expecting A Different Result

Which is what I did for many years. Then I realized that something had to give, so I took my doctors advice and started antidepressants and anti anxiety medications. Let's just say they both sucked royally for me. The other confusing arena is the anxiety support teams:

Who to turn to?
Who Will Listen?
And For goodness sake who has some half decent advice based around helping me to actually progress?

Of course we can't forget the inevitable, setbacks. Everyone has them during their health anxiety journey towards recovery. Why? Because your subconscious mind refuses to accept anything that doesn't fit your current beliefs and values. So as a whim, calmly, in the back of your mind it says to you:
"You're Expecting Me To Take This New Thought Or Skill Set You Just learned, And Run With It With No History Of Success Behind It?"
Welcome to the topsy turvy world of convincing your subconscious mind that you are a healthy, empowered, capable, loving, grateful, and fearless person. It takes time, it takes tears, and it takes some pain to re-condition your mind and to get it to be something you can rely on again, instead of your own worst enemy.

In Episode #72 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I Share:

How one anti anxiety medication almost led me to taking my own life
Why most health anxiety support people fail to actually help
How you can shift your mindset so that setbacks become a positive thing

Begin Your Health Anxiety Recovery, Learn More About The End The Anxiety Program Today.

The post TAGP 72: My Health Anxiety Journey Through Medications, Support, And Setbacks appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 71: The #1 Factor In Health Anxiety Recovery

"Health Anxiety Isn't Your Fault, But It Is Your Responsibility To Overcome." Dennis Simsek

The overwhelming amount of information in today's world can drive a health anxiety sufferer mad. This piece of advice, his comment, that book, next thing you know the light at the end of the tunnel becomes smaller and smaller. This was my journey for over 6 years, until I began to work on this one incredibly important factor.
The #1 Factor In Health Anxiety Recovery Is No Untold Secret
Over the years we see athletes that had enormous abilities, but never make it to the highest levels. We've seen amazing business ideas that never truly manifest and become all they can be. And we see health anxiety sufferers live in a comfort zone they're far too comfortable in to try and let go of (unconsciously of course).

Welcome To The Bewildering Life Of A Health Anxiety Sufferer

There's something very common within the successes of people in different aspects of life, and it's the very thing we have the ability to alter. The immense power within us grants us the permission to consciously step in at any given moment to direct our minds in the direction we want to go, and for health anxiety sufferers that direction is freedom.

Freedom from the never-ending sensitivity to symptoms of anxiety, freedom from avoidance behaviours that keep them locked in a circle of so-so living conditions, and freedom from the grand-daddy of them all... The Fear Of Death.

In episode #71 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I will reveal:

The biggest difference between health anxiety recovery and management
How we sabotage our chances for freedom unconsciously
What the biggest factor in health anxiety recovery is, and how it will set you on a path to freedom in all aspect of your life

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 70: Anxiety Causing Depression? 3 Steps To Recovery

"The Bravest Thing I Ever Did Was Continue To Live While Every Part Of Me Wanted To Die." - Dennis Simsek
Depression can be defined as ‘a mental disorder characterized by a pessimistic sense of inadequacy and a despondent lack of activity’. However, it is important to realize that while this definition is true in the most general sense, there are many different types of depression, and all of them differ in terms of specific symptoms and causes.
On a general level however, depression is a mental health challenge that can affect every aspect of your life. It can change the way you sleep, the way you deal with other people, and the way you view life in general. It is an all-pervasive condition that is very different from a passing mood - something that does not simply go away, nor is it a sign of personal weakness or lack of courage.

Depression can be a crippling condition, so let’s start by seeing if you may be depressed. Keep in mind that everyone has their “blue” days. The thing that separates clinical depression from simple melancholy is that the symptoms occur over a period of time. They don’t come and go, they stay around for a while and can affect your life adversely.

Can You Answer Yes To These 3 Questions? If So Depression Might Be Present:

Are you un-motivated to do simple things like shower, clean up the house, or make dinner?
Do people tell you you’re overly irritable?
Are you feeling isolated from family and friends even when they are around you?

Anxiety Causing Depression Is A Cry For Change, Now!
Suffering depression is your mind’s way of telling you that you need to institute changes through a proven CBT based system. and while a major change like moving to a different state or even a different country would be a huge step in the right direction, for many people this is simply not possible. That does not, however, mean that you cannot make changes to your environment which can help you to start getting over your depression problem.

In Episode #70 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, We Dive Into:

The root cause of your depression
How the subconscious mind interprets your anxiety causing depression
How your life can change by implementing the 3 steps outlined in the podcast

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 69: Is Anxiety Therapy For You?

"My Dad Once Said Son, Never Change A Winning Game But Always Change A Losing Game."

A question I've been getting quite a bit lately is "can anxiety therapy help me in my current state?" A question that doesn't have a direct answer, and many factors need to be understood about the individual. But what I am going to do is take the opportunity to fill you with my personal opinions, give you the facts, and show you what works for me and my clients.

There is no one size fits all approach for anxiety sufferers. I've realized that everyone's challenge is quite unique from the thousands of people I've worked through my CBT based program dealing with health anxiety and GAD. This is where much of my frustration comes into play when we think anxiety therapy in today's world.
"I've been doing psychotherapy for 7 years Dennis," Laura said to me. I was floored, what a waste of money and time I thought to myself.
So this is my no holds barred version of exactly what you need to hear as far as what will work best for you. I will lay it all out for you, and tell you what I believe is the absolute best option for your specific case. Because I'll tell you one thing:

"What You Don't Want Is Your Therapist To Listen To Your Story, Grab A Text Book From The Shelf, Read You Some Breathing Techniques To Do, And Book Your Next Appointment."

Which was a familiar story during my 6 year anxiety struggle. "Was this therapy?" I thought to myself as I left each and every session more confused and anxious than when I went in. That's when I started to do my research to find out what worked for others.

I found myself a mentor who could relate to my story and held me accountable, I learned the methods behind CBT & NLP, and was relentless in my pursuit towards changing how I saw myself and the meanings behind my core beliefs, and the rest took care of itself in time.

In Episode #69 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I'll be sharing:

A deeper understanding behind my anxiety recovery
Why Traditional anxiety therapy didn't work for me
How you can make the right choice that will actually spawn results quickly

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 66: How Mentally Out Of Shape Are You?

"Our Mentality Becomes Our Reality." - Billy Cox

Have you ever looked at your mental health in this way? How in or out of shape you actually are? When we think about getting in shape we attribute that to consistency in some form of exercise to achieve a desired look or result.

So Why Does Physical Shape Always Come Before Mental Shape In Our Society?

If we look at our system from head to toe, internal to external, and what creates the quality of our lives, so much of it comes down to how we choose to interpret the information taken in from our 5 senses.

After suffering from health anxiety, debilitating panic disorder, and generalized anxiety I came to a very deep realization which was that:

"I Learned That A Thought I Had, Or An Emotion I Felt Was My Systems Way Of Asking My Conscious Mind What To Do With This Information!"

I didn't need to run with a thought for the entire day, and believe it. I didn't need to allow my emotions to overtake my reactions and rational thinking processes. But no one ever taught us how to deal with this stuff, until now, so we just keep avoiding or looking for that magic wand for relief.

Staying in great mental shape means working out your mind daily. It means that from the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to bed, you allow certain information to enter your inner world, and others not to.

"Our Lives Are The Direct Result Of How Mentally In Shape We Are."

In episode #66 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast let's look at:

What things you need to do to get in great mental shape
How a brand new perspective can change your world
How to step up no matter what situation life throws at you

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 65: 5 Questions To Ask Yourself To Reach Self Mastery

"Self Mastery Is The Powerful Combination Of Control And Flexibility."

When we talk about self mastery we're talking about people that live mindfully. Mindful living means not falling for the traps of your default mode network (DMN), the part of your brain that thinks and behaves unconsciously.

Unconscious living means putting your life in the hands of others. A persons belief becomes your belief, the gloomy weather means an ugly day, and if something feels wrong than it must be wrong.

"Self Mastery Means Standing Guard At the Doorway Of Your Mind, And Allowing Only The Rational And Big Picture To Enter In."

The difference between average and successful people is their level of psychological development. Successful doesn't have to mean in any given aspect either. Some people can view success as simply living out their passion, or sitting on a bench, hearing the birds chirping, and simply being in that present moment.

As you probably already know and understand well, the mind doesn't naturally become broadened/flexible in it's thinking.

It Takes Commitment, Repetition, Emotion, And A Willingness To Change

But Dennis, why wouldn't someone want to change their lives for the better? Improving their physical, spiritual, emotional and mental health is a given isn't it? Well, not really.

If you're ever heard the saying "most people would rather die than to think," you know where i'm coming from. The very idea of change takes the conscious mind completely out of the game, and it checks out. It wants nothing to do with it since familiarity is what it loves.

In This Episode Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We'll Be Discussing:

When you'll know you've reached self mastery
Reasons why some people will never change their realities
Where we go wrong along the journey

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 64: Depersonalization And Anxiety – A Symptom Or Something Else?

"Depersonalization; Quite Possibly The Most Bewildering And Terrifying Thing I've Ever Experienced." - Dennis Simsek

Depersonalization is something that's becoming more and more common in today's world of chronic anxiety, and yet no one can give us any firm answers on it yet. Certainly my own therapist had no idea what I was talking about, and my doctor just looked at me like I was from the planet Zoltron, so what was a sufferer to do?

The truth is depersonalization is most certainly one of those things that doesn't get much focus as far as treatment options. When all medical tests are done and physical ailments are ruled out, confusion can certainly set in, until today.

I believe the best solutions come from those people that have been through depersonalization and derealization, and have come out the other side. Even though all those inner voices tell you that you're doomed, there's a part of you that reminds you of how sensitized you truly are to everyday fears, and that the solution could simply be in taking care of those very things.
"When I Work With Someone Personally Through Depersonalization, It's Not Only Based Around CBT, But We Get The Meat-Suit Engaged (The Body), We Tackle The Emotional Fatigue, And Re-Wire The Subconscious."
So get ready to listen to this powerful episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast a few times to really grasp where depersonalization comes from, what keeps it going, and what options you have to treat it naturally.

In this episode we look deep into:

The main triggers of depersonalization
Whether it's a symptom of anxiety or not
The #1 way to start turning this bewildering feeling around starting today

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 63: Breaking Anxious Patterns: The Power Of An Elastic Band

"Break The Pattern To Create A New One."

95% of our actions are unconsciously determined. Think about that. These are habits, patterns, and most of them destructive. But we don't recognize these patterns because we were never taught to live conscously, but to accept our realities as they were.

"We Can't Blame Our Parents Though, I Mean They Can't Teach Us What They Don't Know."

Some of the statements my clients have grown up with are things like "you've got to roll with the punches" or "no pain no gain." No pain no gain? What the hell does that even mean? By running the same limiting patterns in our thoughts, words, and actions we create the vibration of living comfortably fearful, and my friends you're much better than living comfortably fearful.

An elastic band was my best friend during my recovery from anxiety, and it will be yours as well. An elastic band when used properly holds the power to not only break you of your anxious patterns, but to create mindfulness. A broader look into the world, seeing the big picture, and going external in our focus rather than internal.

To Break The Anxious Patterns Means To Catch Yourself When Your Crtical Voice Is Present

When the process of doubt begins, you're told you'll never amount to anything, or that anxety will just be a part of your life so you must learn to live with it... Forever. Every client I have goes through the elastic band process, and now my friends, so will you.

The 4 steps you will learn in this powerful epsode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast will transform your anxous patterns of thought, and change the way you see yourself.

In Episode #63 we'll be learning about:

What breaking a pattern truly means
How to fully accept and let the anxiety storm pass
Why the elastic band is an absolute must to wear for you

Share Your Thoughts And Comments Below!

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Join the #1 Health Anxiety & GAD support page on Facebook.

The Anxiety Guy On SnapChat.

Got questions? TAGP 62: Have I Actually Overcome Chronic Anxiety Fully?

"The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Might Look Slim Right Now. But That Light Gets Bigger With Knowledge, Commitment, And Patience."

I get this question all the time: "Dennis, Have You Actually Overcome Chronic Anxiety?" When I get this question I almost always know it's coming from a place of disbelief from the sufferer. Recovery, a place so foreign to people with chronic anxiety.

A world that seems so far away for the moment, and I understand the pain fully.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy podcast I go into great detail as far as how the past was for me living with debilitating health anxiety and GAD, my present life, and where my future lies. And as far as the newest Warriors listening to their first podcast episode, the message from this day forward is clear:
"Every Anxious Moment Is An Opportunity To Practice A New Approach."
Everything begins with mindset, the way we approach life, and the perceptions we have of ourselves. That is why when we start to see anxious moments as opportunities to use new CBT tools we've learned, we become less sensitized to thoughts and environments.

So get ready warriors to gain a deeper look into whether or not i'm done with anxiety, and let's answer this questions once and for all. Does 'Dennis still get those anxious feelings when thoughts arise', and when things don't go the way he wants, or have I been able to experience a sense of self mastery, and become bigger than my problems?

In Episode #62 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Will Be Learning About:

The ways chronic anxiety manifests and how we sustain the feeling without knowing
How I approach daily life today
Where I get the fuel to constantly stand guard at the doorway of my mind

Are You Enjoyng The Anxiety Guy Podcast? TAGP 61: Simplifying Your Anxiety Recovery

"Simplify Your Day, Do Less, And Pick Just One Thing To Focus On."

We can make anxiety recovery so very complicated, and that's where this episode comes in. This week on The Anxitey Guy podcast, we simplify our mindsets. We focus in on small changes, small daily wins, which will lead to big results.

It can be so easy to see yourself as weak, incapable, and powerless. The truth is you're none of those things, you are a warrior. Someone who is just as capable as any to bring themselves to a state of peace and balance. Self mastery is within your reach, but only if you simplify your journey through anxiety recovery.

"Life Is Really Simple, But We Insist On Making It So Very Complicated."

This episode is about your 'one thing.' Your one thing is one focus you hold onto for the day, that's it. "But Dennis how will I lessen my anxiety levels in ALL the different aspects of my life," I hear you saying. That is the very approach that is in fact keeping you from maintaining any progress in your anxiety recovery.

When you focus in on your one thing, your own mindset, your one new skill set, your one challenge for the day, you begin re-conditioning yourself. You begin to see that you can in fact be successfull in this journey. You can maintain progress, simply by maintaining one small focus per day.
"In anxiety recovery we can focus on breathing patterns, posture, journalling, thought patterns, new behavior? You choose your one thing."
In episode #61 on The Anxiety Guy Podcast, We're Diving Deep Into:

Why I believe in the 'one thing' approach so very much for anxiety recovery
How your one thing desensitizes a person from their fears
The moment when a sufferer begins to see themselves as a failure

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
The Anxiety Guy On SnapChat.

The #1 health anxiety support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 60: Top 5 Habits Health Anxiety Sufferers Must Replace

"Health Anxiety Is Kept Alive Due To The Fear Of Losing Control Of Our Minds, Bodies, Or Both."

Health anxiety sufferers consistently play out similar patterns in their day to day lives, with many of those people hoping for a different result. As painful as this challenge is we must get to the point of understanding that replacements of those patterns is crucial.

The Amygdala (the part of our brains responsible for the fear response) must be guided and trained. When the amygdala no longer believes that a perceived threat is in fact near, our symptoms of anxiety lessen and eventually don't appear at all.
"The key for health anxiety sufferers to re-train their amygdala's is by putting themselves in situations that they fear."
The top 5 habits that health anxiety sufferers go though on a daily basis can be replaced. As noted in previous anxiety guy podcasts; The fastest way to overcoming fear based thoughts and behaviors is by replacing them with new ones.

This is why this episode fills me with great joy. TAGP 57: The 6 Crucial Levels Of Psychological Development

"We Are Not What Happened To Us, We Are What We Choose To Become."

This week on The Anxiety Guy podcast we dig deep on what our inner needs are. The psychological development levels outlined in this episode are the stages a person goes through in their minds as they age. Some 60 years olds stay stuck in level 2, which cries out for power and control over their lives. And some 25 year olds find themselves in level 5, a place of purpose.

Get Ready To Learn A Little More About Yourself This Week Warriors!

Having a deeper understanding of someone's developmental needs can help determine what goals, and learning outcomes they should set. As human beings we are unconscious creatures. We live our lives instinctively reacting to pain, fear, and joyful experiences as such. But at some point we must take note of what our true needs are and what direction our lives are headed.
"Take Control Of Your Mind, Take Control Of Your Life."
Many anxiety sufferers go through the anxiety chapter in their lives looking for the next great technique. Something unique, the holy grail that eludes them for so long. Well, there is none I can tell you that from experience and from having worked with over 1000 people worldwide.

This weeks podcast episode will help you see the big picture. The anchors that are holding you back, and where you've been spending most of your time in life. My recognizing these patterns you can begin shaping a true strategy around your needs, accomplish your goals, and move onto the next level of psychological development.

3 Things We Will Be Looking Into This Week On The Anxiety Guy Podcast Are:

The biggest reason why you're stuck in life and can't find your path
How labels over the years have affected your psychological development
How you can begin shifting your perspectives in life starting today

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
The Anxiety Guy On SnapChat.

The #1 anxiety support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 56: A Personal Rant For All The Warriors & Victims

"All Television Is Educational, The Question Is What Is It Teaching?"

During my 6 year struggle with debilitating generalized anxiety I ran into a quote that inspired me to see the world in a new light. Although long, I feel the need to share it with you and it goes like this:

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, it's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently... IF YOU LET IT."

I believe it was Sylvestor Stallone (comment below if I got it right), that said this. The part that stuck with me wasn't the part that the world being a nasty place etc (because I was living it daily at the time due to my health anxiety, panic attacks, you name it), it was the last 4 words:

"If You Let It"

I thought to myself, do you mean I have a choice in the matter? I didn't have to live in a world of reaction to every symptom of anxiety, every criticism my boss sent my way and every moment someone cut me off on the road? That last line gave me some space. Some space between my anxiety and who I was as a person.

I recognized that my internal chatter was enough to keep my mind occupied on how scary the world was. With every identity statement such as "I am anxiety," the fears grew stronger and the more it consumed me like a blanket wherever I went. I shared my struggles with everyone I met, not realizing one important thing along the journey which was that:
"No One Really Cared That I Had Anxiety!"
So I labelled those people too. "Good for nothing people who just care about themselves", and on the cycle went. Today's rant on the anxiety guy podcast comes from a place of love, even though it may not seem like that, so buckle your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

The top 3 things we'll be diving into in this week's the anxiety guy podcast episode are:

The #1 reason for why negativity is so much stronger than positivity right now
How searching for the meaning of life everyday, just causes you more anxiety
Why we've become a society of zombies chasing the next temporary pleasure

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
The Anxiety Guy On SnapChat.

The #1 anxiety support page on Facebook.

Got questions? TAGP 55: Overcoming Health Anxiety – Convincing Yourself You’re Healthy

"Overcoming Health Anxiety Begins With Acceptance And Ends With Action."

Health anxiety is a condition that bewilders many people, including professionals. The idea that every symptom of anxiety can be a life or death event doesn't really cross the 'average' person's mind. But the biggest problem health anxiety sufferers face is convincing themselves that in fact their sensations are related to the emotional cycle of anxiety.

This hurdle is half the battle towards overcoming health anxiety. Many people find that the strategies they have within them can be put to use to lower their stress and anxiety levels once they are convinced.
"People Fall Victim To This Condition For Years. Overcoming Health Anxiety Involves Awareness, Acceptance, And A Commitment To Break The Anxious Patterns."
Overcoming health anxiety also means being able to prepare yourself for setbacks. Many people working on overcoming health anxiety fall victim to setbacks and bewilderment, and think they've made no progress at all. This is completely false, and deep down they know it.

What I've come to understand is that health anxiety sufferers who are looking for a CBT method to overcoming their condition, have lost rapport with their subconscious mind. This is where the main problem lies. In this powerful episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I'm going to equip you with what you need to begin overcoming health anxiety starting today.

In this episode we look into:

The #1 reason for why people fail in their journey towards overcoming health anxiety
What you need to do today to begin convincing your mind you're healthy
Why sensations of anxiety hold so much power over you

Download This Powerful Episode Below And Don’t Forget To Subscribe To The Anxiety Guy Podcast For Weekly Updates!
The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Get your daily dose of inspiration through SnapChat.

Join our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.

The post TAGP 55: Overcoming Health Anxiety – Convincing Yourself You’re Healthy appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 54: How Long Will Your Anxiety Recovery Take?

"Have Patience With All Things, But First Of All Yourself."

Many people who suffer from GAD and health anxiety wonder how long anxiety recovery will take. Important question that comes with a number of factors. Those factors will be explained in detail in episode #54 of the anxiety guy podcast.

Life with anxiety can cycle between having days of freedom from worry and fear, to extreme disaster lurking behind every corner.

Catastrophic thinking and fortune telling are common habits with anxiety sufferers, but it doesn't have to be. As a CBT Practitioner I like to take an action based approach to guiding people to change their thought patterns and eventually their belief systems all together.
Let's Understand Though That Anxiety Recovery Should Have A Mind, Body, Spirit Approach To It
In today's society we tend to see things in different groups. Meaning we target one aspect of anxiety recovery instead of seeing it as a package deal. Some important aspects are sleep patterns, diet, your relationships, routines that feed further anxiety and much more.

In this powerful episode I will give you the tools and main factors that will increase the chances of quick anxiety recovery. Take these tools and create a new you, a new identity of who you think you are as a human being. TAGP 53: The 5 A’s To Health Anxiety Relief

"Worrying Is Like A Rocking Chair, It Gives You Something To Do But Gets You Nowhere."

"I need health anxiety relief!" This is how 100's of emails I open up daily start off. Thankfully for those anxiety warriors my passion through cognitive behavioral therapy is to focus in on this exact condition. It also becomes much easier for me because I can relate to their health anxiety journey, and that's half the battle right there.
"Is Health Anxiety Relief Even A Possibility Without Years Of Therapy And Medication?" Most Definitely Warriors.
It's difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you wake up thinking you have a brain tumor everyday. Convincing the part of your mind that just won't let go of the possibility that you have a serious illness, isn't easy. Emotion and repetition sure can help to re-construct this new fearless you though.

I believe in these 5 A's so much, that I would bet a deep understanding and application of them alone can trigger health anxiety relief. Just as a painting with the color blue can trigger anxiety and panic attacks in a deeply sensitized person (due to past experiences), A reminder of these 5 A's can also trigger internal balance.

In episode #53 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We learn about:

The one piece of advice that can trigger a relaxation snowball effect
How health anxiety relief can naturally be obtained
Where health anxiety sufferers go wrong on the road to recovery

Download This Powerful Episode Below And Don't Forget To Subscribe To The Anxiety Guy Podcast For Weekly Updates!

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Get your daily dose of inspiration through SnapChat.

Join our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.

Got Something To Share? TAGP 52: Top 10 Rules To Become The Greatest Version Of You

"Life Is Really Simple, But We Insist On Making It Complicated."

If there were 10 rules I could give someone to become all they were meant to be in this life, it would be these ones. Life is simple, but we make it complicated. In NLP we label these 10 principles as presuppositions. Understand them and how they may be different than your own current perceptions. Recognize how these approaches could benefit you in your own life, and begin implementing them.
"Conformity Provides Great Limitations On People's Potentials"
To conform is to become someone else. To think the way they do, to act the way they do, and to run our lives the way they do. This is far too common in today's world. You're better than this, because you are here. You want different things in your life therefore you must do things differently.

The best thing I ever did in my life was to take a good conscious look around me, and my environment. Where was my time being spent? How was my time being spent, and with who. How were these things affecting my life positively or negatively? Most people don't stop to take a look, they're drenched in self misery and believe this is the best it'll ever be.

Don't Be Most People... Please

Most people run towards a strategy before fixing their mindset. Their approach to life. Their approach to themselves. That is why this podcast episode exists today, to show you a new way. A way that will empower you to not only serve yourself better, but to serve others as well. These top 10 roles to live by will get you to where you want to go.

In Episode #52 I Want To Show You:

How one change can create a snowball effect in a good way
What keeps you stuck in a cycle of fear
Where your fears have manifested from, and how to overturn them starting now

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Follow me on Twitter.

Join Our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.
Got Something To Share? TAGP 51: 5 Keys To Better Mental Health

"Never Let The Opinions Of Others Become The Measure Of Your Self Worth."

How many repetitions did you do for your mind today? Meaning, when you embark on a journey of change, your mind will resist the change greatly. This is simply because your subconscious mind has seen what is familiar for so long, and has no real success with this new approach you will take. But, the more repetitions you put in (execution of the new skill you have) the faster change will happen.
Let's Not Forget That Better Mental Health Means A Firm Commitment To Change
If someone wanted to lose weight, they couldn't do it in a day. If someone wanted to start a new career, that knowledge would take months or even years to master. If you want to have better mental health, you must understand that this is a long term process. I've seen rapid changes in people who first make that firm decision that their patterns of thought that lead to their beliefs MUST change.

Take Note Of That Word; MUST. Not Should, Not Might, But Must Change

As challenging as life might be for you right now you can move past this chapter in your life. You can because you have the resources within you to have better mental health. But ask yourself; Is your challenge related to a lack of skill sets? Or a lack of the proper mindset? In this episode you will become armed with both.

In Episode #51 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Are Diving Deep Into:

Why so many people fail in their pursuit of better mental health
What the most powerful step is to begin the rapid change you desire
How the healing mechanism within you actually works

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Follow me on Twitter.

Join Our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.

The post TAGP 51: 5 Keys To Better Mental Health appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 50: Is Anxiety Hereditary?

“Stop trying to be less of who you are. Let this time in your life cut you open and drain all of the things that are holding you back.” - Jennifer Elisabeth

A question that haunts so many people today who suffer with anxiety is; Is anxiety hereditary? If my father, mother, sister, brother has an anxiety disorder does that mean I must live with it forever as well? The power behind this idea can leave many people crippled thinking that coping with anxiety is the only way.
In this milestone episode titled: Is Anxiety Hereditary, I want to share my own opinions and research on this important topic
I lived 6 debilitating years with health anxiety and panic attacks. I grew up seeing my father overreact to the smallest daily challenges. I also saw my father become a physically and verbally abusive person to my mother and me. Lessons learned. I now know how not to be with my own son. But in my mid 20's I felt I was doomed as well.

Incredible how one limiting belief can keep someone in a state of fear and anxiousness forever sometimes

My father turned into a calm and loving person when I saw him last. I didn't even know who the person I was talking to was! I was in total shock. He had began to better understand his anxiety, he began to challenge and move with his anxiousness, and came through a better person. Is change possible for you? Yes. So let's get to this 50th episode of The Anxiety Guy podcast titled; Is Anxiety Hereditary...

In This Episode We Learn About:

How genes actually play a part in someone with an anxiety disorder
What you can do to begin healing anxiety today
How to connect with that person in your family tree who has suffered

The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Follow me on Twitter.

Join Our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.

The post TAGP 50: Is Anxiety Hereditary? appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.

TAGP 49: What Is Increasing Your Anxiety Levels (Without You Knowing It)

"A clear conscience is the greatest piece of armor."

By arming yourself with awareness, you beat the system. A system that is designed to control your thoughts, beliefs and behaviors. TAGP 48: A Holistic Approach To Healing Anxiety With Dr Denise Mcdermott

"You Are More Than Your Symptoms." Dr Denise Mcdermott

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr Denise Mcdermott, and I loves every minute. Dr Denise tells it how she see it, and believes in mastery over your mind, body, and spirit for excellent mental health. Not the typical Doctor we all have come to know, we being the health anxiety sufferers of course.

"When Dr Denise Mcdermott Speaks, We Must Take In That Important Knowledge"

As many of you know, the Twitter world is jam packed with people trying to build their brands and businesses. It's really difficult to read people's true intentions from their Tweets and comments. What struck me about Dr Denise Mcdermott was this inner care that she had for anxiety sufferers. She just seems to be someone who 'gets it,' and I can only say to her clients this:

You Are Some Pretty Darn Lucky Folks To Have This Doctor By Your Side

A Doctor needs to be caring, and show you that you're not just a number, you're a human being. Therefore you should be treated not like the last patient that walked in, but someone who is in need of a state change. By applying a mind, body, spirit approach to healing anxiety we can bounce back in the quickest way, and allow ourselves to tap into the healing mechanisms we have within us.

In episode #48 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we will be learning more about:

How most doctors view health anxiety patients
The best practices to heal generalized anxiety
Dennis's true experiences going from doctor to doctor during the peak of health anxiety

Download this episode and share this with others who are in need of a helping hand through health anxiety.
The Anxiety Guy Community Links :
Follow me on twitter.

Join Our Facebook page.

Get connected on YouTube.

The post TAGP 48: A Holistic Approach To Healing Anxiety With Dr Denise Mcdermott appeared first on The Anxiety Guy - Your Resource To Ending Anxiety Naturally.
