Podcast Episode's:
Who is Kristaps Porzingis? Everything You Need to Know

Scroll down for original podcast.

How good is Kristaps Porzinzgis?

Well, they say the sky is the limit with him. Seriously though, there is no real limit with this guy. There is a reason why he is called a unicorn. At 7’3, he can block shots, defend the paint, run, score in the post, knock down jumpers, AND he has 3 point range. It’s really incredible in terms of his full body of work. His only weakness may be that he can still be pushed around a bit. Also, the presence of Carmelo Anthony may actually slightly slow down Kris’ offensive growth.

Full Highlights of Kristaps Porzingis: Blocks, Dunks, and 3 Pointers:

When people ask how good can this kid be, no one is quite sure what to say. Most NBA pundits are afraid to say he will be a hall of famer, as they don’t know if he can stay healthy (there aren’t too many 7 foot 3 guys who are bastions of health), and wonder if he can become a more fluid player within an offense. HOWEVER, if you were to stop his career right now, you would see a guy averaging 20 and 8 with a continuous highlight reel of blocks, dunks, 3 pointers, and impressive post moves.

I do get the feeling that most NBA players are not afraid of him (there is a stereotype against thin Europeans), but that will change. This is because Porzy will undoubtedly posterize a number of these players, and eventually will become a full on All Star. Check out some of his awesome highlights below:

How old is Kristaps Porzingis?

When he was drafted, he was just 19 years old! And what’s crazy is that even at that age he was already putting in decent numbers, with 14 and 7 in his rookie year. His sophomore year is better, and he is putting in 16 and 7.5. He was born on August 2, 1995, making him 21 years old. In comparison, fellow rookie Karl-Anthony Towns was born November 15, 1995.

How tall is Kristaps Porzingis?

He is listed as 7’3, though some in the NBA have said he looks even taller, though this is likely due to his thin frame. To be fair, he has gained significant muscle in the last 6 months, and may even be a factor for his recent Achilles injury. He is 221 centimeters.

Where is Kristaps Porzingis from?

He was born in Liepāja, Latvia. He played in the younger age bracket with BK Liepājas Lauvas team, which was the most popular team in Liepāja. He played with them until he was 15 years old. He then moved to Sevilla, Spain, which is where he rose to prominence. He eventually moved to New York after the Knicks drafted him in the 2014 NBA Draft. His Latvian origin provoked the nickname “The Lativian Gangbanger”, popularized by crazy actor Michael Rapaport on more than one Bill Simmons’ podcast.

Projected Career Statistics for Kristaps Porzingis:

We have yet to see the best stats yet from Porzy, but here are his rookie season numbers, followed by his career projections:

Year

Team

GP

GS

MPG

FG%

3P%

FT%

RPG

APG

SPG

BPG

PPG

2015–16

New York

72

72

28.4

.421

.333

.838

7.3

1.3

.7

1.9

14.3

Projected Career Stats

New York

1100

1100

31.8

46.2

37.0

.800

8.0

2.9

1.0

2.1

23.5

The reason his projected stats: His minutes will obviously go up, but he’s already suffering from a few minor injuries, leading management to call on coaches to limit him to around 30-33 minutes per game. His field goal percentage will obviously rise, as he simply acclimates to NBA offenses, and gets more touches in the paint. Rebounds will go up as well,

Pod 38: Real GM NBA Headlines 12-16-2016

The Rockets have renounced their rights to Donatas Motiejunas and he'll become an unrestricted free agent and will probably go to the Brooklyn Nets.

Craig Sager has died at the age of 65 after getting cancer.

Mike Conley Jr. will return 3 weeks earlier, but the Grizzlies are doing just fine without him and Chandler Parsons! Thanks to Marc Gasol, of course.

Stephen Curry, drafted in 2009, will be able to sign for 35 percent of the cap - 5 years for $207 million!!!

Phil Jackson wants to stay with the Knicks for longer, but that's probably because he sees that Kristaps Porzingis is legit.

Before Russell Westbrook's two-game slide of losses and no triple-doubles, he loved triple doubles. Now he hates them? LOL. Hear the truth.

The post Pod 38: Real GM NBA Headlines 12-16-2016 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 37: Why the Minnesota Timberwolves Suck

Why do the Minnesota Timberwolves suck this year? Every pundit and their mother predicted a 50 win team and the playoffs for this young team. But we knew better, as we pointed out on our season predictions a few weeks ago.

Eveyrone said that Tom Thibodeau was worth 10 wins, Andrew Wiggins would make the leap, Kris Dunn will be great, and Zach LeVine is for real. Also, Karl Anthony Towns was ready to take over. Not so fast, Minnesota. In this show, I explain why bad karma from Glen Taylor firing Sam Mitchell and driving out Kevin Garnett is affecting this team, as well as a few basic on court problems that they are struggling with for the time being.

Another reason why the Minnesota Timberwolves suck so badly in 2017 is due to sheer competition in the Western Conference! Think about it for a second. Look at who else is in the West:

Western Conference

W

L

W/L%

GB

PS/G

PA/G

SRS

Golden State Warriors* (1)

73

9

.890

—

114.9

104.1

10.38

San Antonio Spurs* (2)

67

15

.817

6.0

103.5

92.9

10.28

Oklahoma City Thunder* (3)

55

27

.671

18.0

110.2

102.9

7.09

Los Angeles Clippers* (4)

53

29

.646

20.0

104.5

100.2

4.13

Portland Trail Blazers* (5)

44

38

.537

29.0

105.1

104.3

0.98

Dallas Mavericks* (6)

42

40

.512

31.0

102.3

102.6

-0.02

Memphis Grizzlies* (7)

42

40

.512

31.0

99.1

101.3

-2.14

Houston Rockets* (8)

41

41

.500

32.0

106.5

106.4

0.34

Utah Jazz (9)

40

42

.488

33.0

97.7

95.9

1.84

Sacramento Kings (10)

33

49

.402

40.0

106.6

109.1

-2.32

Denver Nuggets (10)

33

49

.402

40.0

101.9

105.0

-2.81

New Orleans Pelicans (12)

30

52

.366

43.0

102.7

106.5

-3.56

Minnesota Timberwolves (13)

29

53

.354

44.0

102.4

106.0

-3.38

Phoenix Suns (14)

23

59

.280

50.0

100.9

107.5

-6.32

Los Angeles Lakers (15)

17

65

.207

56.0

97.3

106.9

-8.92

There are no real surprises in the top 12 (all the teams ahead of the Wolves), so we can't be that surprised at their performance this year!

The Warriors, Spurs, Rockets, and Clippers aren't going anywhere. The Blazers regressed but are still okay, and the Pelicans and Kings, though mediocre, still have better players in Anthony Davis and DeMarcous Cousins, both of whom are better than Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony Towns!

At this point, they might as well tank to get another pick. Pod 36: RealGM.com NBA Headlines 11-4-2016

The Russell Westbook and Kevin Durant feud took a funny twist, with Westbrook showing up to the his recent game against Golden State wearing a ridiculous "OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER" shirt! Durant loves photography BTW. More topics covered in this episode: Celtics tried to trade up for Joel Embiid, the ridiculous contract extensions for Steven Adams and Victor Oladipo, George Hill about to get paid by the mediocre Utah Jazz, and Isiah Thomas quietly becoming a top 10 closre for the Celtics. Oh, and James Hardens' insane numbers.

The post Pod 36: RealGM.com NBA Headlines 11-4-2016 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 34: NBA News Roundup April 8, 2016

Sam Hinkie quits the 76ers, which is something we all saw coming. I talk about Jerry and Bryan Colangelo, and why they have such an easy job ahead of them, as well as measuring how successful they can be. Kevin Garnett is coming back for another season, which is crucial for Karl Anthony Towns' development. Also, Garnett probably wants another crack at the Playoffs. Kurt Rambis is incredibly being considered by Phil Jackson as a legitimate head coaching candidate for the Knicks next year. And finally, I talk about the Warriors, and whether they can crack 72 wins.

The post Pod 34: NBA News Roundup April 8, 2016 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

What a week for the Lakers! We discuss the beef between Nick Young and D'Angelo Russell, and what went down. I also discuss Kobe Bryant's involvement.

Obviously this will result in a Nick Young trade, and we talk about his stats and poor play this season.

Additionally, we bring in Gilbert Arenas to give his underrated NBA analysis on the matter.

The post Pod 33: Nick Young VS D’Angelo Russell appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 32: Revisiting the 2009 NBA Draft

The 2009 NBA Draft is turning out to be one of the most historic and fascinating drafts, due to great and terrible players. Aside from Steph Curry, perhaps on his way to becoming the greatest shooter ever, being slipping to #7, there was more intrigue. Blake Griffin was obvious at #1, but Hasheem Thabeet at #2 to the Grizzlies? James Harden, followed by Tyreke Evans were fair picks.

But what about Minnesota Timberwolves GM taking Ricky Rubio followed by Johnny Flynn, just before Curry?

Another interesting aspect of the draft was Jeff Teague, Jrue Holiday, and Ty Lawson were all taken in the mid-late first round. There were some other gems later in the draft, including Taj Gibson, Demarre Carrol, and Danny Green.

The post Pod 32: Revisiting the 2009 NBA Draft appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 31: NBA News Roundup – February 26, 2016

This week in NBA news: Joe Johnson has been bought out by the Brooklyn Nets, and he left $3 million on the table. I talk about his decision to leave money on the table (not hard), and teams he might play for. If he wants to be playing in the NBA Finals, then he has to sign with the Cavs or Warriors, but the Warriors have not reached out to him. However, the Cavs have a deep backcourt, and Johnson isn't accustomed to playing as a reserve.

Kevin Martin is reportedly in talks with the Wolves to be bought out, and I discuss his ultimately dissapointing career, and where he may sign for a possible playoff run.

The Knicks were apparently approached by the Celtics for a Carmelo Anthony trade, perhaps offering Brooklyn's unprotected draft pick. Melo has a no trade clause and probably doesn't want to go to Boston, and the Knicks need to decide if they are rebuilding with Kristaps Porzingis, or winning now with Melo. I talk about when the Knicks can realistically have a shot at a ring.

James Harden reportedly asked Daryl Morey to trade Dwight Howard, which obviously didn't happen. I talk about the Houston Rockets performance this year, and why the marriage between Harden and Howard has not worked out well.

The Timberwolves have waived professor Andre Miller. This was surprising, as the Wolves are the anti-Sixers, with many veterans on the team. This might be the end of Andre, unless a playoff team picks him up.

The Wizards signed JJ Hickson - this is the type of small move which won't help them, because guys like Hickson don't have much of a place in the NBA anymore.

The post Pod 31: NBA News Roundup – February 26, 2016 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 30: Analyzing the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline

What a dissapointing NBA trade deadline...for Doc Rivers! In this episode, we break down the 5 big trades that were made: Randy Foye to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jeff Green to the Los Angeles Clippers, Markieff Morris to the Wizards, Channing Frye to the Cavaliers, and Tobias Harris to the Pistons.

What is more interesting was the lack of big names moved. Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, and Dwight Howard were the big names that were expected to garner significant trade movement, but nothing materialized. Do any of the trades went through help the teams? Sure. But don't expect any of them to mean anything other than a playoff appearance. Because the NBA Finals currently only have three candidates: The Spurs, Warriors, and Cavs. And unfortunately for the Clippers, Doc Rivers probably didn't help them with their Jeff Green acquisition. Channing Frye was the man they needed.

The post Pod 30: Analyzing the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 29: Kevin Durant’s Free Agency Decision

Where is Kevin Durant going to sign this summer? With his free agency pending, as well as the NBA trade deadline getting closer, the media has been rampant about speculation. Will he resign with Oklahoma City on a 1 year deal so that he can leave with Russel Westrbook together in a year and a half from now? Or does he want to wait and see if he can actually make it back to the NBA Finals this summer?

What about the obvious choice, Durant's hometown the Washington Wizards? Upon taking a look at their roster one has to wonder if they have enough depth to give Durant enough of a supporting cast.

How about the New York Knicks? Durant is good friends with head coach Derek Fisher, and recently spoke lovingly about Kristaps Porzingis. Can the Knicks move enough pieces to make it happen? Maybe they need to wait a year when the salary cap goes higher?

How about the Houston Rockets? They are seemingly in the mix for every big free agent. But does Durant want to share the floor with the ball dominant James Harden? That hasnt' worked out well for Ty Lawson. What about the Lakers? Maybe Durant goes with Westbrook in 1 year to revitalize the team. Or how about the Chicago Bulls? They are by far the most competitive team that will be pursuing him.

Or, is there one more team out there, but doesn't exist. That is Durant's first team, the Seattle Supersonics, who could come back as an expansion team. Listen to the pod to find out my prediction!

The post Pod 29: Kevin Durant’s Free Agency Decision appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 27: NBA News Roundup January 27, 2016

NBA news roundup for January 22, 2016: Luke Walton might soon step aside for Steve Kerr, who is coming back from his injury which no one seems to care about. But with a stellar record, shouldn't Walton coach the remainder of the season? Why rock the boat?

Baron Davis went unclaimed in the NBDL waiver wire. How the mighty have fallen. The question isn't why, because we all know he stinks at this point. Rather, is he delusional?

The ridiculous story of Matt Barnes beating up Derek Fisher takes another turn when another rejected NBA veteran Gilbert Arenas gives us the scoop.

Joakin Noah got injured and is out for the season. Pod 26: NBA News Roundup – January 15, 2016

Five quick news stories:

1) The Brooklyn Nets and mikhail prokhorov are interested in bringing in Danny Ferry to become their GM and lead their turnaround. How does this affect the John Calipari rumors? And is Ferry, an alleged racist, allowed back in the NBA?

2) Jerry Colangelo was famously brought back to the NBA to help the Sixers, reportedly with David Stern pulling the strings. How does this affect Sam Hinkie, the architect of the Sixers takedown, and who has final say over Sixers matters?

3) Derrick Rose comments on his future with Chicago. I explain why Bulls fans are fed up with Rose, and his recent turbulent history and unhelpful comments in past months.

4) John Wall, a max contract player, fired Dan Fegan and is joining Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. Why did Wall join LeBron's agent? Is it because he thinks he deserves more All Star votes and a higher profile?

5) The Lakers will probably offer Demar Derozan a max contract deal for $25 mil a year. Is he worth it? Will the Raptors match it?

The post Pod 26: NBA News Roundup – January 15, 2016 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 25: NBA Free Agents Still Available from 2015

Just because every team has filled their roster spots doesn't mean that there aren't available players via free agency. The list is quite interesting to scroll through, with many household names that we've seen on our TV's over the last few years still hoping for another NBA gig. The NBA website lists about 40 semi-active players who played last year but did not yet retire. I went through the following NBA players and talked about their chances of making it back to the big stage: Ben Gordon, Anthony Bennet, Lester Hudson, John Lucas III, Rasual Butler, Glen Davis, Michael Beasely, and Dorell Wright. Make sure to check out our last pod on NBA Centers' contracts.

The post Pod 25: NBA Free Agents Still Available from 2015 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 24: NBA Centers – Free Agent Contract Busts

Many big men centers signed with new NBA teams this past summer, and got a lot of money. The media seems to be saying that Omer Asik (5 years $60 mil), Tyson Chandler (4 years $52 mil), and Robin Lopez (4 years $54 mil) are already considered to be busts, because their numbers down this year (Asik in particular). I break down the reasons behind these deals, and talk about whether or not they are truly busts. I also quickly touch on other NBA centers who signed this past offseason, including Tim Duncan, D'Andre Jordan, Marc Gasol, Brandan Wright, Brook Lopez, and more

The post Pod 24: NBA Centers – Free Agent Contract Busts appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod 23: State of the Lakers *Christmas Edition* [Special Guest: Ags from LA]

It's Christmas, and the Lakers are rolling hard toward the draft. In our longest podcast ever, me and special guest Ags from LA discuss everything Laker-related. We talk about Kobe's recent resurgence, the promising backcourt of Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell, passing on Okafor and Porzingis in the draft, the sad downfall of Roy Hibbert, Ron Artest's playing time, the flashes of promise shown by Julius Randle, Nick Young and his antics, whether Byron Scott deserves to be coaching, the role of the Buss siblings, and whether or not the Lakers have a realistic shot at bringing Russell Westbrook to LA in 1.5 years. Feel free to listen to our Oh, and we spoke about Andrew Bynum for 3 minutes! Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

The post Pod 23: State of the Lakers *Christmas Edition* [Special Guest: Ags from LA] appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #21: NBA Roundup: Dwight Howard Unhappy, Colangelo to the Sixers, and Rajon Rondo’s Short Suspension

What a week in the NBA! Dwight Howard reportedly unhappy in Houston. He called Chris Sheridan a liar for breaking the story. His potential trade to Miami doesn't really make sense, and Dwight might simply be delusional at this point. Jerry Colangelo is officially on board with the Sixers, and unfortunately for Sam Heinke, Colangelo may have come at the perfect time, as next summer it will be easy for the Sixers to jump back into contention. Rajon Rondo made homophobic slurs to Bill Kennedy, yet only received a 1 game suspension. This is too little, and this episode probably hurt Rondo in his upcoming free agency.

The post Pod #21: NBA Roundup: Dwight Howard Unhappy, Colangelo to the Sixers, and Rajon Rondo’s Short Suspension appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #20: 2015-16 NBA MVP Race

The 2015-16 NBA MVP race is underway, and the media has thrown around a few names. Make no mistake, Steph Curry and his other-wordly numbers make him the easy candidate for MVP. The only thing stopping him from winning is a huge shooting slump (unlikely) or possibly a big injury (more likely). If not for Curry, this conversation would about Paul George and LeBron James, both of whom are putting up big seasons. Other players that I discuss are Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant. I also talk about why Anthony Davis and James Harden (2 MVP candidates before the season started) are both struggling, and are not even in anyone's top 10.

The post Pod #20: 2015-16 NBA MVP Race appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #19: Best NBA Contracts 2015-16

With all of the crazy money thrown around this past summer, I wanted to highlight some really great, bargain contracts in the league. Starting with Pau Gasol, who signed a 3 year $22 million deal, but can actually opt out this summer after the 2nd year finishes. Kyle Korver signed a 4 year for $24 million just two years ago, and as a deadly three shooter who can play defense, he is a huge asset on his contract. Robert Covington, signed to one of Sam Hinkie's classic minimum deal contracts in which the team holds the option, is producing far above his contract. I also talk about how KJ McDaniels rejected this Hinkie style deal to be rewarded with a 3 year deal for $10 million by the Houston Rockets. Langston Galloway was a guy who Phil Jackson SHOULD have signed to a multi-year deal, though he is restricted this summer, so that helps the Knicks. I also mention Trevor Ariza's 4 year, $32 million deal, and compare it with Chandler Parsons, who he famously replaced. Steph Curry gets a shoutout too for his 4 year $44 million deal, which in hindsight was probably a mistake to sign. Listen to why I think he signed the deal. And for a list of people who stand to lose money this summer, read about my 2016-17 Free Agency losers episode.

The post Pod #19: Best NBA Contracts 2015-16 appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #18: Does LeBron Have Warriors Paranoia?

Brian Windhorst recently stated that he thinks that LeBron James is afraid of the Golden State Warriors. He calls it Warrios Paranoia, which is what the Clippers have after their brutal loss last week (after being up by 23 points). In this show, I talk about why LeBron has nothing to fear, and I look closely at last year's Finals to explain why the Cavs are still the favorites to beat the Warriors this coming June.

The post Pod #18: Does LeBron Have Warriors Paranoia? appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #16: 2016-17 Free Agency Losers

Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Nene Hilario, Ty Lawson, and Joe Johnson are all having down years, and unfortunately for them they are set to be free agents in 2016.

These 5 guys stand to lose a lot of potential NBA contract money due to the down years they are having. However, all is not lost on them, and I explain why certain guys will indeed get big contracts next year, and others will probably have to sign minimum contract deals. Pod #15: Kings – Karl vs Cousins, Vivek and Vlade

All is not lost for the Sacremento Kings. Although Cousins and Karl had a huge fight this week and the Kings seem on the verge of imploding, I explain why and how they can quickly get better. I also debunk the terrible trade that Vlade Divac made with the Sixers, and explain why although it was a bad deal, it is not nearly as bad as people made it seem to be.

The post Pod #15: Kings – Karl vs Cousins, Vivek and Vlade appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #13: NBA Regular Season Wins- Betting Odds

In this episode, we race through each NBA teams' Vegas odds for total wins, and whether we like the odds. There are a couple of surprises - mainly the Knicks, Nets, and Kings all surpassing expectations, because of my "trying hard" theory - management wants to win now, and anyone can be a 40 win team if they want to.

Image from Fliickr.

The post Pod #13: NBA Regular Season Wins- Betting Odds appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #12: I’m Betting Against the Cavs

Apologies to all my Cavs fans. But in 2 weeks, the Cavs will start the season 0-5. Every NBA pundit will say, "yea no big deal - Kyrie was hurt, LeBron was coasting, Love is slow to recover from injury, Tristan hasn't picked up a basketball all summer, and Mozgov was out of shape from surgery". And that's okay, because we all know that the Cavs are going to make the Finals. But that doesn't mean they won't start off slow, and that's why you should bet against them.

Cavs cheerleaders image is from Flickr.

The post Pod #12: I’m Betting Against the Cavs appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #11: Lamar Odom Story: Who to Blame?

After Lamar Odom's recent drug-fueled meltdown, I decided to step back and see who's to blame for this. Do we blame E! and Khloe Kardashian? Or the Lakers for trading him to the Mavs in 2011 for a first round pick? Or is Odom at fault? In this episode, I carefully discuss each of these angles, as well as the likely cause for Lamar's recent downturn, which wasn't mentioned in most sports outlets.

Photo remixed from Flickr.

The post Pod #11: Lamar Odom Story: Who to Blame? appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #10: Gilbert Arenas VS Caron Butler & Javaris Crittendon Gun Story

Caron Butler recently claimed in his "Tuff Juice" book that he stopped Javaris Crittenton from actually shooting Gilbert Arenas. As in, Javaris pointed a loaded gun, cocked it, and nearly shot Arenas. Arenas took to social media to dispute this rather bold anecdoate from Butler, and the jury is out on who is right. Pod #8: Toronto Raptors 2015-16 Preview

The Toronto Raptors had to overpay Demarre Carrol, but it was probably worth it as he fits their team perfectly. Corey Joseph on the other hand may have gotten too much money. Other signings such as Luis Scola and Bismack Biyombo were cheap and affordable deal.

The future of this team certainly rests on Jonas Valančiūnas's development, Kyle Lowry getting a better attitude, and possibly trading Demar DeRozan or Terrence Ross in a big trade.

(Image)

The post Pod #8: Toronto Raptors 2015-16 Preview appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

The Boston Celtics under Danny Ainge have been mimicing Daryl Morey's Houston Rockets model: don't tank, acquire assets, and then strike for the big fish. The problem is, the Celtics have been unable to land their own Dwight Howard or James Harden.

The traded for David Lee, resigned Jae Crowder, signed Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko.
Why does Phil Jackson continue to trash former Knick players? Shane Larkin, Andrea Bargnani, JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, Alexy Shved are just a few of the players who Phil has taken shots at. Pod #5: Philadelphia Sixers 2015/16 Season Preview

Image: Remixed from Flickr

The Sixers have captured a lot of attention regarding their blatant tanking tactics. The question is: Is Sam Heinke evil? Judging his moves from afar, one begins to wonder if his tanking has gone too far. Other questions:

If they were indeed tanking, why didn't they finish with the worst record in the NBA? If you're gonna tank, you should tank!

Are free agents scared of signing with Sam Heinke and the Sixers? We wonder if free agents won't want to sign there in the future.

Heinke treated Andre Kirilenko very badly which might affect future FA signings.

When will Heinke turn on the switch? Is it that easy to go from bad to great?

Drafting Jahlil Okafor over Porzingis was a bold move in the sense that no one expected it.

Nick Stauskas, Nerlens Noel, Robert Covington, and Tony Wroten are going to be key players this season.

Do they have a shot at Ben Simmons next year?

The post Pod #5: Philadelphia Sixers 2015/16 Season Preview appeared first on We Da Best NBA Podcast.

Pod #4: Brooklyn Nets 2015/16 Season Preview

The Nets won't win a championship for as long as the Boston Celtics are collecting their draft picks from them. Which means one thing: the Nets can't be bad, but without drafting, can they ever be good? Some topics we covered:

1. Good riddance Deron Williams

2. Paul Pierce on the Nets (not kind)

3. Billy King - worst GM in sports?

4. Mason Plumlee was actually untradable for about 1.5 years, then he was dumped for a late first round pick who can't shoot! What gives? Eitan gives us some insider intel.

5. Wayne Ellington - solid signing, shoots 38% from 3.

6. Discussing the starting rotation: Jack, Johnson, Youn, Bargnani, and Lopez.
