To celebrate episode 50, #Philly's horror authors & hosts T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas tell old and new stories of the many ghosts who haunt Penn's city along the Delaware. Phil shares his #paranormal encounter at the Poe House, the #Philadelphia home of Edgar Allan Poe. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas, present haunted folklore from the American Revolution, Civil War, World War I & World War II. Also, in support of Indie filmmakers, Phil Thomas interviews local Philly film artist, Veronica Giglio, founder of a new local cinema event in Philadelphia to present the work of the Philly film community. T. Fox Dunham narrates part 1 of his story, Die Musik des Teufels, from Grey Matter Press' horror anthology dedicated to music, Savage Beasts. Fox & Phil also discuss dark internet legends including the Marianas Trench deep-web and an elusive group of elites called The Cicada 3031 whose intentions are unknown—perhaps world domination if you can figure out their riddles. John C. Foster, author of Grey Matter Press’ Mister White, returns with part one of his dark short story about psychiatrists and marionettes, Talk to Leo part one, narrated by voice actress, Linda Jones. Then we enjoy a hard rock number from a Boston band called Pipe Choir with their song A Dark Blue Arc. John Foster returns with his first investigation of New York City’s paranormal history with Hart Island—ghosts of American civil war prisoners still haunt there. Phil & Fox close the show with an encounter with the EVIL BUNNY—the animal which leaves a terrible mess on the carpet. Come see if they make it out alive!

EPISODE 27: DECEMBER DARKNESS

www.whatareyouafraidofpodcast.com

The darkness is oppressive this time of the season, and horror authors T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas return with episode 27 to explore the long nights, providing you some entertainment to get you through the cold season. They bring you a mix of #ghost stories, banter, film crafting and dark fiction drawn from all over the space-time continuum.

After talking some cultural philosophy about the coming winter holidays—Halfway Out of the Dark—they open the show with another true ghost story told to them by Doctor Berrett Ravenhearst from Jim Thorpe, PA as part of their new segment, ghost stories of Jim Thorpe. Fox spent the summer collecting #paranormal experiences from the small mining town in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Crossed Connections, narrated by British folksinger David Walton is another story of the dead reaching out through the phone in a series of supernatural connections or coincidences. You decide.

Phil Thomas talks film making and crafting as he overcomes common problems facing #indie #filmmakers who do not have the resources of corporate studios yet want to produce professional movies. He’s working on the final edits of the short film, A Short Term Effect, soon to be released.

They also talk about their new line of t-shirts available through TeePublic. Phil & Fox have brought in several depraved horror artists to create new designs. They’re available here for purchase along with other items such as mugs, laptop cases, cats. Would you eat What Are You Afraid Of? cereal? The hosts discuss the possibility—better with bat’s blood, not milk.

Scottish & Canadian blues artist Wily Bo Walker returns with a new song from a collaboration with The Rattlin’ Bone Theatre Show—another dark R&B dirge called ‘Shoot Me Down.’

They close the show with another reading from the KGB Club in Greenwich Village, The Dark Ones Rise—a special recorded on location hosted by T. Fox Dunham to soon be featured through the podcast. Fox reads his potent tale of a Nazi commander hunting the last elf to cure the world of false hope, a story based on Fox’s survivor’s guilt after surviving a rare lymphoma. The Last Elf.

The show is available through all major podcast services and is on Friday nights at 9PM at PARA-X RADIO. They need your true paranormal experiences. Check out the guidelines at the website and email them to whatareyouafraidof117@gmail.com. The first ghost story, read by British folksinger David Walton, tells the tale of a ghost cat seen by the owners and patrons alike.

This is also the first episode playing part one of the literary series Let The Dark Ones Rise—an evening of horror authors recorded onsite from the KGB Bar and Club in the East Village, NYC, hosted by T. Fox Dunham. This will be a special available in complete from this podcast feed, but for each episode, they will play one author reading his material. Fort Mifflin is one of the most haunted sites in the country, visited by many groups of famous ghost hunters. Mifflin is one America’s oldest forts, once serving as a river fort in the American Revolution, a prisoner of war camp in the Civil War and even a refueling station in WWI. Our hosts head out, interview ghost hunters as they recorded paranormal data and gathered ghost stories about the fort.

While at the fort, they recorded the experiences of several #ghost hunters, related the history of the fort and relayed several ghost stories reported by visitors. One tells the story of a Phantom Guide who appears to visitors at the site then gives them a brief tour of the history of Fort Mifflin when no staff member is scheduled. Another of their many stories laments a woman who hung herself. The Lady Screams so loud the neighbors call the Philadelphia Police. The Judge still holds court in the barracks. A Blacksmith puts down the hammer when you touch his tools. They tell these tales and many more as they explore one of America's most haunted sites.

They talked with #paranormal investigators who revealed their many visitations and manifestation, plus they observed the seekers hard at work using camera, recorders and ghost boxes, drawing out spirits with simple conversation. Spirit of PA joined them to share their paranormal experiences, especially an encounter with a nasty ghost who hits with chairs. So many paranormal groups came out to talk to them about their night, sharing their findings.

Phil Thomas debuted his English folklore story called Smilin’ Jack, about a pumpkin, a scarecrow and a town’s curse. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas present to you a special podcast anthology of collected ghost stories from one of the most haunted battlefields in the world, Pennsylvania’s own Gettysburg. Once the site of a great battle between the Confederate and Union armies and the turning point in the American Civil War, the land has suffered tragedy and death. Such suffering echoes through time, and these echoes can be felt today through the many supernatural sightings reported by locals and visitors. Through investigation, door-to-door at times, T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas have uncovered new and old stories about soldiers lost to life but not to time.

The dead demand to be remembered.

Mark Nesbitt – Gettysburg Ghost Folklore Collector

“It was a warp in time. A veil is parted.” Mark Nesbitt, Gettysburg Ghost historian.

On this episode, they feature an anthology of ghost stories, so many that they let the stories speak for themselves. Mark Nesbitt, Mister Ghosts of Gettysburg, joins Phil & Fox for an interview and shares a few ghost stories that he’s collected, along with a few EVPs (recorded voices of the dead). Mark talks of his two experiences he collected: the story of a Phantom Civil War Hospital and the bleeding room at The Daniel Lady Farm. Fox also tells a story on location at Devil’s Den, based on Mark’s investigation.

“Spirit blood appeared there and vanished.” Mark Nesbitt

Mark also shares his theory on how the quartz in the ground records supernatural energy. Mark Nesbitt was a National Park Service Ranger/Historian for five years at Gettysburg before starting his own research and writing company. Since then he has published fourteen books including the national award-winning Ghosts of Gettysburg series. His stories have been seen on The History Channel, A&E, The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, Unsolved Mysteries, and numerous regional television shows and heard on Coast to Coast AM, and regional radio. In 1994, he created the commercially successful Ghosts of Gettysburg Candlelight Walking Tours and in 2006, the Ghosts of Fredericksburg Tours. To arrange a candlelit tour with Mark Nesbitt’s touring company, visit this website.

Author and friend Suzanne Madron, resident of Gettysburg, sends two true ghost stories she encountered: Mr. 1865 & Soldier on a Bicycle. Both stories recorded by our British folksinger, David Walton. Suzanne Madron was born in New York City and has lived up and down the east coast. Currently she resides on a house built over a Civil War battlefield in the wilds of Pennsylvania where she has been known to host some interesting Halloween parties. She has authored several novels and stories under various names.

GHOST STORIES DOOR TO DOOR:

While investigating the city during a weekend trip, T. Fox Dunham & his wife, Allison Ledbetter took several photographs of the battlefields and shops and may have caught some paranormal activity. Allison sensed something in the corner of an Irish shop. After Allison directed him to the ceiling, Fox took several photos of the same spot and caught what appears to be a light or mist moving into the ceiling. Lighting effects couldn’t quite explain what they saw, nor could they identity an obvious source. Could be paranormal? Check out the photographs on the website.

T. Fox Dunham also spoke to a shopkeeper, recording his story of the Ghost Lady in a Rocking Chair. A Lil Somethin’ Gettysburg is a lovely little shop with friendly owners who sell unique gifts, candles, salsas, home décor and souvenirs.

CUSTER’S LAMENT

The episode ends with a special extended version available to those downloading the podcast. We play Custer’s Lament from a band based in Portland, Oregon, Velaraas from their album Gilded Age. It’s a metal tribute to General Custer who fought at Gettysburg and later died at Little Big Horn.
EPISODE 20: Shadow Stalkers

www.whatareyouafraidofpodcast.com

Phil Thomas & T. Fox Dunham are counting down to Halloween. October 1st, they release episode 20, Shadow Stalkers, recorded with special guest host, Debi Chestnut who tells us her stories after spending a lifetime investigating the paranormal.

Debi Chestnut was born psychic and struggled with these gifts in a world that didn’t understand her. As a kid, her first best friend was a ghost-boy named Nathanial, and she lived in a supernatural world. She investigated many cases with the Black River Paranormal group and has now formed a new group, Shadow Stalkers. She’s written multiple books on the paranormal including Something Wicked, Stalking Shadows and Is Your House Haunted? She is what Fox calls a psychic healer. She mends the tears between this world and the next.

Debi talks about several of her paranormal experiences: growing up with a dead boy, fighting a demon that nearly consumed her life and putting to rest elementals in a barn that was protecting lost babies. She shares with us one of her favorite stories, The Screaming Woman, which has been narrated by one of our voice actors, about a murdered woman and her lost child in a mid-west farmhouse.

“I could hear its footsteps, and it would hold me down in bed. Couldn’t scream.” Debi Chestnut.

http://www.debi-chestnut.com/

Fox & Phil have started their seasonal spooky early, and they ventured to one of the infamous haunted sites of Philadelphia: Pennhurst Asylum. Thanks to tickets from their friend Cindy, they got in early and enjoyed this magnificent production.

Check out this link from Weird NJ for its history: http://weirdnj.com/stories/pennhurst-asylum/

We tell another true ghost story that was sent to us titled Long Distance about a woman who won’t give up on her boyfriend after he gets married, even after she dies.

Fox shares another round of Clown News. Among some of his accomplishments, Turner's composition with musician Fascinoma won a competition held by radio station WFMU and the Free Music Archive for an alternative version of the popular “Happy Birthday to You,” entitled, “It’s Your Birthday!” In addition to his prolific catalog, his songs have been featured in movies, television programs and advertisements. The track “Judicious Jason” from Instrumental Friends Part 3 broke a Guinness World Record when 2,231 students chose the song to do history’s largest choreographed ribbon dance. His albums are available for free download via Creative Commons license on Bandcamp, Free Music Archive, and Archive.org.
EPISODE 19: Fall Spirits

Happy #Equinox! It’s our season, #Autumn. #Mabon. #Halloween is only a few weeks away, and Fox & Phil have lots of spooky and horror to fill the time. Horror personality, one of the #Crypticon Ghoul Girls and host on iHorror, Friday nights, Kino McFarland (Demented), co-hosts this episode to talk about her work in film and her life as a model, escape artist and circus performer. This is the third episode to be part of the programming at #Para-X on Saturday nights, 6PM dead. They record on location from Comic Zen in Lansdale PA to celebrate its recent opening on Cruise Night in Montgomery County.

Partly sponsored by Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing:

Our co-host Kino McFarland - @KinoMcFarland

With a love for theatrics and a passion for writing, Kino McFarland began building a career of storytelling through word and film at a young age. She was a valued member of her high school’s drama club’s stage crew and later went on to perform at The Ohio Renaissance Festival as a street character.

The sideshow bug bit Kino at the Renaissance Festival and she began performing with the Pickled Brothers Circus and FreakShow Deluxe as Hannah Bel. Her skills as a glass walker, escape artist, and more have allowed her to perform with bands such as the Insane Clown Posse and GWAR. While traveling with sideshows, Kino refined her writing skills with Full Sail University.

Kino writes primarily dark subjects with a hint of comedy, which can be attributed to her experience with vaudevillian performers and showmen. Vampires, witches, and ghosts are some of her most beloved subjects, as are the many people and personalities that she has encountered while traveling the country. She firmly believes that only an oblivious person can write a boring character. The best characters are all around us.

Her film credits range from being a Production Assistant and Behind the Scenes Photographer to directing and writing her own films, such as Hangry, The Beasts of the Earth (winner of Best Sound Design at the Seattle 48 Hour Film Horror Project), and Declawed (2nd place winner at Cine-City). She is currently working on a webseries called Kino's Asylum for iHorror.com's Youtube channel in which she discusses the horror genre as her horror host personality, Kino B. Demented. She has dedicated her life to horror and can often be found with the Crypticon Ghoul Girls in Seattle, Washington.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12qm85QMu8U - My escape video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QpAv0ToTm4 - Declawed

www.kinomcfarland.com - my website

“Start meeting people who can get you onto sets.”

Kino McFarland (Demented)

The true ghost story this episode is from a New England resident, Renee Johnson—a classic ghost tale of the true sight of children and saying goodbye to family, read by voice actor Jamey McCartney. Grampie.

Randi Stinson from Cats Meow Mystical Shop returns to tell the story of an encounter with a man and the demon who owns his soul. Dark and atmospheric swamp tunes, southern flavor all merging with retro cinematic elements that may remind you of some late night movie soundtrack you half remembered.

T. They also feature another edition of #Clown News to report the latest rash of psychological attacks and #clownsightings from #clowns along the American east coast. The clowns are coming.

They end the show with a diabolical tale brought to them from Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing. One Death at a Time tells the story of a frustrated Satan dealing with an infuriating new soul in Hell. Written by Soren James.

The Devil frowned, and began irritably shouting, “What on Earth are you talking about? Have you no conception of who I am? They’re changing the format so they can talk to their audience more, share their experiences and stories. For example, in this episode, they discuss the plague of clown sightings happening in the south: its validity and basis in #folklore.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THESE #CLOWNS? Is this how the world ends?

Fox interviewed the Lady-Medium, Jean Westbrook MA, CH, CMI. Jean is a local #medium who spent the last 30 years exploring her abilities, growing them and helping others on their search. She doesn’t see the future because she believes in free will.

“My readings provide an emotional spiritual mirror to help you gain clarity so you can make positive conscious choices yourself. In honor of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, T. Fox Dunham researched two pieces of American horror folklore and re-wrote them into new stories: Don’t Sell my House & The Bloodstain. Fox interviews Cody Meirick who is filming a documentary on the anthology, and David Walton finishes the show with an old #folksong featured in the book: “Don’t You Ever Laugh as the Hearse Goes By” or “The Worm Song.” The wars of the 20th century made this song popular.

After September 10th, the show will be going to a weekly frequency. Zach & Perry are the famed #paranormal investigators from the popular web series, Afterlife Sessions, nearly a cable series. Z&P have been encountering ghosts all of their lives, and for four years, they’ve been out documenting their ghost hunts with professional production quality. They know how to tell a story. The duo hang out with us for this episode, telling us their many ghost experiences and how they produce such a quality show—and some of their encounters are chilling.

Zach contributed our true ghost story, “Tommy”. It’s a story about his first paranormal experience with a childhood friend. Jon Prive narrates the story.

#Afterlife Sessions travels around the country investigating the paranormal and educating their audience about the history of each location and the spiritual realm. With emotional episodes and stirring evidence, Afterlife Sessions aspires to turn skeptics into believers.

http://www.afterlifesessions.com

Jessica McHugh reads a chapter from her new horror-erotica novel from Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing: The Train Derails in Boston. Her biggest issues start the moment she discovers a chest of ancient mahjong tiles in the basement of her new house, causing her life to spin out of control with hallucinations, sexual deviances, and grisly murders. This is the first of several from the talented horror author, written about a beloved and bucolic town in #Pennsylvania, New Hope—an artist’s town on the #Delaware River. Fox knows the town well, going there often while growing up, visiting the many shops and inns. Where there’s history, there’s #ghosts. It is considered America’s most haunted town and it is even featured in a documentary—link below. PD is featured on the show. PD’s first ghost story is called The Spinning Ghost of the Pineapple Inn. The complete audio story, not edited, can be found at Soundcloud, read by Patricia Thomas (Phil’s Mom!) Thanks Patricia! And a complete version of the story can be found on the website.

PD CACEK:

The winner of both a Bram Stoker and World Fantasy Award, P.D. Cacek has written over a hundred short stories, six plays, and five published novels. Her latest THE SELKIE, is currently available on Amzon.com. (And the story behind its creation will be coming soon...) A native Westerner, Cacek now lives Phoenixville, PA…home of BLOBFEST, and only a short walk away from The Colonial Theater where the famous “Run Screaming From Theater” scene was filmed. When not writing, she can often been found either with a group of costumed storytellers called THE PATIENT CREATURES (www.creatureseast.com), or haunting local cemeteries looking for inspiration.

PD Cacek has become a member of the haunted family at What Are You Afraid Of? Podcast, and she has already contributed much. More stories are coming in the future from this talented horror author.
EPISODE 14: DEAD ZONE

Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas bring you episode 14 of What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Podcast. The authors continue to explore the darkness, building an archive of entertainment and experience in both the paranormal and artist community.

Sponsored by Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing.

http://perpetualpublishing.com/

On this installment, they begin with a true ghost story sent by recent musical contributor, DJ Dead Zone or Jason from Manchester, England. The Grey Man is a story about a terrifying paranormal experience that happened to Jason when he was a lad told for the first time to the podcast. And Jason is sure the Grey Man will return for him one day. The true ghost story is beautifully recorded by our British folksinger, David Walton.

Follow DJ Dead Zone on Twitter at: @newo394r

Phil & Fox share a few more true ghost experiences from Gettysburg, Cape May and even tell the story of Phil’s extra-dimensional car. Fox shares his knowledge on clearing negative energy using herbs and magick. We also give a shout-out to some of the major female horror contributors to the field including Lisa Morton, President of the Horror Writers Association and Ellen Datlow, the best anthologist in dark fiction.

We complete our interview with famed ghost story collector Charles Adams III, known for such anthologies as Ghosts of Cape May, Ghosts of Gettysburg and many more volumes from 30 years of tales he collected. We are thrilled to have this immense talent on the show and one of the creators of the paranormal sector. Thank you Charlie.
EPISODE 13: CHARLES ADAMS III

Well, we’ve had the self-discipline to get you 13 episodes, and we’re going strong. This is a momentous episode for old lucky 13. NEW THEME SONG!!! We’re no longer using open license horror music for our opening. We have a unique theme song composed just for us from author & musician Michael Garrett. All I had to do was write him three op-ed pieces. Nice trade!

We feature a true ghost story from Tori L. Ridgewood, Tori’s House from Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Read by British folksinger, David Walton in his usual charming manner.

Phil & Fox discuss more true ghost phenomenon, have their usual banter, and then we lead into our interview with folklorist and author Charles Adams III. We’re rather proud of this one. Charlie has been collecting and writing true ghost stories from the east coast for decades. He was doing it when the term paranormal didn’t exist, and we’ve all seen his books in museum gift shops and libraries. We feature part one of this interview on the show.

Fox Dunham talks about issues in the horror writing community and reads his letter to the Horror Writer Association core members and leadership, written at a time of great turmoil for all authors involved with the organization.

John Foster, co-host for episode 5 returns with an interview about his new novel from Grey Matter Press, Mister White as one of the Dark Five. We will feature a special episode from the KGB event, Let the Dark Ones Rise, after episode 14.

We close the show with a special musical treat from British techno composer Dead Zone, a mix of beat and borg, inspired by those bionic zombies. We feature part one & two of the four log set and two #ghoststories told to us by a sassy southern guide who works at the jail: Mary Crane of Pain & The Body Sinks. Part 2 & 3 and their #EVPs will be featured in episode 9. They chronicle their investigation of this rich historic site, describe the eerie setting and tell us about their encounters with the dead prisoners who still dwell there. Old Charleston Jail, which was operational from 1802 until 1939, housed Charleston's most infamous criminals and, during the Civil War, Federal prisoners of war. The Old Jail housed a great variety of inmates. John and Lavinia Fisher, and other members of their gang, convicted of robbery and murder in the Charleston Neck region were imprisoned here in 1819 to 1820. Some of the last 19th-century high-sea pirates were jailed here in 1822 while they awaited hanging. This is the site of many paranormal investigations and has been featured on Ghost Adventures.

http://www.gravewanderers.com/

Phil & Fox are bringing you some #ghostlove!

Phil narrates Canadian author and hitchhiker, S.L.
VII - GRAVE WANDERINGS

On episode 7, British performer David Walton narrates a new true ghost story from Thailand, Girl on the Train. Phil & Fox discuss death and odd forms of burial from around the world—cannibalism, being fed to birds and Buddhist live-mummification. They also read some witty epitaphs found over the centuries and from our listeners. This leads Fox to their next interview with the all-female paranormal investigations team, Grave Wanderers: their work, theory and methods. They discuss previous cases and listen to their EVPs. Sandra and Stephanie have two very different personalities but are united in common cause.

When the interview is done, they talk a little more about death. Fox reads a passage from his new book, Destroying the Tangible Illusion of Reality or Searching for Andy Kaufman—a paragraph called Death the Inevitable. The message: Live to change the world or become an inert ghost who can merely watch but not interfere.

They finish the show with a true ghost poem written and recorded by Lamplight Magazine editor, Jacob Haddon: Night Swimming. He also explains the true story it’s based on. Then David Walton performs with his beautiful British voice the folk-song, The Lovers Ghost.

What Are You Afraid Of? PMMP will support the show financially and provide top horror authors to create a new dark fiction segment on the show, exploring the dark spectrum of our theme: the paranormal, folklore, music, stories, artwork and the industry whether film, writing or art. When I started this project in August—facing delays because of deadlines, material research and a second battle with cancer that resulted in surgery—I was told to expect maybe 100 downloads for my first two episodes if I was lucky. As of tonight, 11th November 2015, we are at +800 downloads of the show and growing fast.

I just uploaded Episode III: Zombie’s First Thanksgiving to our podcast host site, Libsyn, and waiting for it to be distributed to iTunes and the many other directory sites that host the show. If you’re a new horror author or film-maker trying to make a career, you better listen. This is the way it is.

We close with a recently collected story from Bill G called Fast Eddie, recorded by voice actor, Jon Prive. I, Fox, collected this story on Halloween from a friend at Barnes and Nobles just after he listened to both episode of the podcast and recalled a time when the other side reached out to him. Was it just his grief? Did Eddie come for Bill? Or both?

And Phil Thomas filmed a promotional piece to launch a campaign to raise money for his new movie—an old school slasher story. I acted in this short film, and we talk about the experience on the podcast. Here is a photo from the filming.

Fox discovering his dead girlfriend while stalked from behind.

Much coming in the future. EPISODE IV: DEMONIC OPRESSION will be the story of a retired ghost hunter, Ron, who suffered a dark attachment after investigating a haunted site. This dark entity terrorized him, and he tells us the story—a cautionary tale. We’ll be examining the case with other experts and talking about how to prevent and defend against shadow-creatures, what are called in Christian parlance, demons. We plan for this to be live on November 27th 2015.

We just want to note that all extra sound material used on the show—sound effects and music—is part of the public domain and podcast safe. We will list the free license services and directories on our website, and we thank them all. We are very conscious about protecting owner’s rights of creative material.

We still need your true stories, and if you’d like to do an interview or create a segment for us, please contact us. We will listen to everyone. We’re not here to judge. Follow us on twitter too!

TWITTER: @pfwhatafraidof

EMAIL: whatareyouafraidof117@gmail.com

FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WhatAreYouAfraidOfPhilandFox/

So enjoy your American Thanksgiving with your family and watch closely at the shadows, in the dark, out the windows just in case some deceased family and friends return to share the bright of your dining room light and energy of your family’s life. They are there watching even if you don’t see them, always with us.

We end this article with the twitter words of Gary from Ghost Investigations in the United Kingdom. Gary is getting ready to investigate the famed Poltergeist House, and he tells us via Twitter how he prepares for a paranormal investigation:

Hi Fox. I work logically and methodically so knowing the plan of investigation is a must. Full equipment check beforehand . . . Sadly no weird rituals like, “I drink banana milk and eat a Twix!” . . . Depending on the location determines how you prepare but generally just think happy thoughts and about the good things . . . in life. I don’t go to a location to get scared. For me it’s about the story, the person behind the haunting. As in life . . . some people are nice, others less so. The process of dealing with that is the same but comes with a big buzz when you get . . . a response via knocking, movement, evp or apparition.

http://www.ghostinvestigations.co.uk/

So listen to the show and leave us some comments or a review on iTunes with a couple of stars.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving from Phil, Fox and the team of What Are You Afraid Of?

Horror authors T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas host a special Thanksgiving episode: The Zombies First Thanksgiving. We bring you sketches based on the first Thanksgiving between humans and zombies, created by the What Are You Afraid of Improve team. We have two new true ghost stories—The Hand Game from author B.E. Scully and Fast Eddie from Bill G., recorded by our international team of voice actors. We feature a fascinating interview with Bill Wilkes, the force behind the Paranormal Society—a matchmaking web resource to connect those encountering the paranormal with support. Bill has already helped with over 5,000 cases. Also, we talk about writing and filmmaking in the Indie horror industry, sharing our experience dealing with publishers and distributors.

What Are You Afraid Of?

We’ve all experienced messages from beyond the silver veil, whether we want to admit it or not. Some people take no notice, ignoring these outreaches. Others embrace them, seeing them as evidence of an expanded universe. Whether these stories frighten or comfort, we are reassured.

In my youth, I worked for various museums and gained a passion for the science of collecting folk culture. These personal experiences need to be recorded and added to this rich archive, presented for scholar and seeker. We’ve already established an archive of collected stories that have never been recorded before.

The reading of collected personal ghost stories as part of our outreach program to record folklore through social media, email and community events. Horror material including interviews with horror authors, the reading of classic ghost stories and discussions of the industry. And we will be producing interviews with ghost hunting groups. We will be recording this podcast from notoriously haunted locations.

The broadcast will be no longer than an hour except for the last episode which will be transmitted around Halloween.

So we need true stories. They need to have been personally experienced by the author or someone close. The accounts should be in their own words as if telling the story to a friend or in an email. The stories work best when around 1,000 words, but we have done longer sagas.

We need help gathering stories, spreading the word so people will send us their accounts. We’d also be glad for any ideas for segments or general horror material for the show. We can offer promotion.

Email us your personal true ghost stories at whatareyouafraidof117@gmail.com

The Website: ghosthostwithfoxandphil.wordpress.com

Twitter: @pfwhatafraidof

https://ghosthostwithfoxandphil.wordpress.com/
