Today we are pleased to welcome Alex Herrera, arguably the greatest short form improviser in Southern California, to the podcast. After getting his start when he founded the seminal team BIG DADDY WEEDWACKER AND THE DISCO RODENTS, Alex went on to become a founding member of THE LOBBY at Spectacles Improv Engine, which recently celebrated their Tin Jubilee with 10 years as a team. Alex also serves as a coach in the IFLN, where his teams have won back to back championships, and performs as one of the founders of Orange County Cagematch champion team FLORIDA MEN.

He pretty much won everything an improviser could win, even though improv is, for the most part, not a competition. His team SPANISH RICE is the winningest team in OC Cagematch history, and he was the winner of both the King of the Ring invitational and the Improv Cup. Happily married for 8 years, Wendy and TJ Penrod are the founders of Off The Cuff Comedy Improvisation in Cedar City, Utah. For the past six years, they have hosted the renowned Red Rocks Improv Festival, which brings talent from across the country to their small mountain hamlet.
