Halloween 1980-something (October 31st)
Taras & Todd talk about their Halloween costumes growing up. Here is a little bit of what they each had to say:
Todd: My Mom was head of the English Dept, and also in charge of the Drama Dept in her High School. Which meant I NEVER needed to buy a costume.
A Bald Monk
Father Time ------ Mom’s Idea - No kid or Adult knew who the hell I was somebody with a cap (Darth Vaders Cape)
Taras: Here’s the costumes I remember wearing:
??? something with one of those plastic masks that made you sweat your face off!
Trick or Treating as kids: Taras and Todd compare their Halloween experiences with the situations Adam found himself in during this episode.
Todd said he did not do too many bad things BUT then proceeded to explain how he would fill up his Super Soaker with gasoline and turn it into some kind of World War II “FLAMETHROWER” and have to periodically run from the police late on some Halloweens.
Taras didn’t deny any accusations of destruction and mayhem. Taras and his friends would steal people’s pumpkins and smashed them on our friends driveways. They called them “hits”. He recalls “one time we had like 20 pumpkins on our friends driveway all smashed and smeared...and classic stuff like toilet paper and Super Soaker (water, not gas) drive-byes.”
I think Taras was probably like Adam’s man-crush in this episode… Evan Turner. I mean he wore a Shark-Toothed necklace and his Dad owned an Arby’s!!!
Our Favorite Halloween Candy:
Todd: Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Mr.Goodbar, Krackel, Hershey’s Kisses, Butterfingers, Big League Chew,
Taras: Twix, Starburst, KitKat,
Todd tells his Dan Aykroyd/Donna Dixon “Ghostbusters” story...He grew up in the same neighborhood as Donna Dixon’s (Dan Aykroyd's wife) house. So he got my meet Dan many times..and Todd’s Dad used to jog with Dan...AND had no idea who he was.
Todd also tells a story of how his Mom pulled him and his friends out of the movie theater when she brought them to see “Weird Science” (1985)
