Who's He? Podcast #284 Any way the wind blows

Phil and Paul return once again to the past with their series 1 retrospective with a look at Aliens of London by Russell T. Davies. In this tale of alien invasion and copious amounts of farting, how does this story hold up now? Well, Phil thought time was kinder to it then he remembered but Paul, well, he's not a fan of soap operas it seems!

Also, we have an interview with Hayden Gribble from the Diddly Dum Podcast who talks about his new book Child Out of Time: Growing Up With Doctor Who in The Wilderness Years.

And in the news, Shada is getting the animated treatment and we say goodbye to Trevor Martin.

Find information on Hayden's book here.

Who's He? Podcast #282 Don't you love farce?

In this episode Phil and Paul have another crack at a Target novelisation with The Greatest Show In The Galaxy by Stephen Wyatt. As neither Phil nor Paul are particular fans of McCoys era on TV, they were both afraid that this read would be a struggle. However, as Phil has a soft spot for this story and Paul doesn't it didn't bode well for this review but the pair of them surprised each other when they started talking and they also decide who Peggy Mount could take in a fight.

And in a change to the normal schedule, Phil talks to writer Andrew Smith about Doctor Who and most importantly his 10K run in aid of the Lily Foundation, a charity that is very important to him. So sit back and enjoy and don't forget to donate!

Andrew Smith Just Giving Page:

www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-smith248

Twitter: @Andr3wSmith

The Lily Foundation:

www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk

Twitter: @4LilyFoundation

Who's He? Video Podcast #010 - D.W.E. R.I.P.

In this edition of the Who's He? Video Podcast, Phil pays tribute to the Doctor Who Experience which has now sadly closed in Cardiff.

Phil also manages to slip in a bit of good old fashioned nepotism into the show as well!

Who's He? Podcast #280 It takes an idea and makes 3D stuff

Phil and Paul return to the Doctors audio adventures and this time they have selected David Tennant's and Catherine Tate's first audio adventure for Big Finish, Technophobia. In a bright and breezy review with no signs of either of them running for the hills at the sight of a microphone, both of our intrepid hosts find a lot to enjoy in this story and comment on whether this captures the essence of New Who and does it also recapture the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble relationship?

And in the news, rumour that Bradley Walsh is the new companion (which leads into a thread of "two handers"..... ooer!), RTD gets a lifetime achievement award and in Omega's Tat Corner and item of apparel that will make you stand out at any party!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #279 Like Charles Dickens there's a lesson to be learned

After what feels like a lifetime, Phil and Paul return once again to their series one retrospective and The Unquiet Dead by Mark Gatiss. In a story that sees the writer, director and cast all on top form, it leads the pair of them to question whether Mark Gatiss output for Doctor Who requires a reappraisal. But they also question whether the alien in this story really deserved to become a villain at the end or whether the Doctors attitude towards the dead was story enough?

And in the news this week, Jodie Whittakers reactions to being cast as the Doctor, there's a Doctor Who actor celebrating a centenary, we say goodbye to Victor Pemberton and Hywell Bennett and in Omega's Tat Corner (or Tats Corner as Phil keeps saying!) it's Mr. Men tat.

Who's He? Podcast #278 What is it good for?

It's Target time again and this time Phil and Paul have selected the behemoth that is The War Games by Malcom Hulke. So how can a 10 episode TV story translate into a very short book? Well, it appears that Paul and Phil have a difference of opinion on this one with topics such as characters that go nowhere, acting that is distracting, disappointment at the author and whether this book is best read while eating your favourite ice cream.

And in the news, the casting of Jodie Whittaker continues to be debated, the title of the Christmas Special is revealed, is Shada getting the animated treatment and the sad passing of Deborah Watling and Trevor Baxter.

In this special Who's He? Who's He? Podcast #276 Even the hero gets a bullet in the chest

This is it folks, the last in this series of Doctor Who and Peter Capaldi's penultimate story before he bows out at Christmas, The Doctor Falls. After the fantastic World Enough and Time, does this story provide a satisfactory conclusion to the final story and the series itself? Well, Paul and Phil certainly wax lyrical about Capaldi, Mackie and Lucas and whether the Master and Missy meeting really added up to much and they also discuss THAT ending and what possibly could happen on Christmas Day?

There is also listener feedback and also one final trip to Omega's Stats Corner.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #275 Gonna make you pay for that great big hole in my heart

Wow. This week, Phil and Paul talk about World Enough and Time, quite possibly the finest, creepiest and most gripping episode of Doctor Who in a long time. With the Tardis trio taking Missy on a mission, what could possibly go wrong? Well, quite a lot as it goes and we're starting the Let's Not Kill Bill campaign right here!

But in the absence of any news this week, the pair of them talk about what is a spoiler and how the announcement of John Simm and the Mondasian Cybermen returning some months ago affected any surprises this series had.

Also as an added bonus, Phil reviews The Doctors: The Pat Troughton Years DVD released by Koch Media. Thanks to Witchfinder PR for the DVD.

@WitchfinderPR

http://www.witchfinder.co

Who's He? Podcast #274 I'll be there before you close the door

This week, Phil and Paul look at The Eaters of Light by returning Doctor Who scribe Rona Munro. In a tale of Scottish braves, Roman occupation and a light eating alien, there should be plenty to enjoy. But did our reviewing duo think so? Listen to find out what they thought plus what our listeners thought in our feedback section.

And in the news, Derek Jacobi is coming to Big Finish as the Master, the date has been given of when the Doctor Who Experience will close and of course, Omega's Stats Corner!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #273 It's long and hard this road to Mars

This week Phil and Paul journey to Mars with erm.. the Empress of Mars by Mark Gatiss. In this tale of Ice Warriors vs Victorian Soldiers, is this a return to form for series 10 after a couple of bumpy episodes? Well, our reviewing duo certainly have a lot to discuss with the return of an old fan favourite, more movie references than you can shake a stick at and also plenty of listener feedback!

And in the news, RTD knows who the new Doctor is and there is Omega's Stats and Tat Corner!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #272 Every legend tells of conquest and liberty

This week Phil and Paul reach the end of the Monk trilogy with Lie of the Land. Is this an improvement on last weeks episode and does it provide a satisfactory conclusion? You will have to listen to find out what they thought but you can be sure that they will discuss a companion shooting the Doctor, Missy and of course fake regenerations! And not only do you hear what our reviewing duo thought but also what you thought in our listener feedback section!

And in the news, Peter Sallis passes away at the grand old age of 96, Patrick Ness reveals that he won't be returning to Class and of course there is Omega's Stats Corner!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #271 All my past and futures

In this episode Phil and Paul tackle The Pyramid at the End of the World, the latest in this series of Doctor Who. Well, it had to end didn't it? Not the world, the run of outstanding episodes! Unfortunately neither Paul nor Phil can find many niceties to say regarding this story featuring the most inept scientific laboratory committed to TV and an endless list of coincidences that neither of them find believable. And Phil really has it in for anyone wearing a beret badly.

And in the news, Doctor Who will reach at least series 15 and will be shown in China, the BBC Store is to close, Rachel Talalay is to direct the Christmas Special and there is a truncated Omega's Stats Corner.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #270 Here comes the twist -- I don't exist

This week Steven Moffatt is back on writing duties with Extremis. And as usual, his writing seems to divide fandom so will this happen to Phil and Paul? After 5 weeks of cracking Doctor Who stories, will this story bring all this to an end? Listen as the pair of them solve mysteries they themselves have created and also hear what the listeners thought in our regular feedback section!

And in the news this week, Eric Pringle passes away aged 82, a new Doctor Who game for your mobile and of course, Omega's Stats Corner!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #269 A lack of oxygen from my life support

In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul venture into deep space with a full tank of air each and take a look at Oxygen, the latest episode of Doctor Who. And what an episode! Holding the mirror up to real world capitalism and racism, has Doctor Who ever been more political? And has the show ever taken this kind of risk with its lead character before? Find out what our intrepid duo think and also what you the listener think as well in our feedback section.

And in the news this week, the sad news that Geoffrey Bayldon has passed away, the 10th Doctor and Rose team up for Big Finish and of course there is stats in Omega's Stats Corner!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #268 I can hear your music playin'

This week Paul and Phil hide under the couch as they review the haunted house themed episode Knock Knock, episode 4 of this series of Doctor Who! Co-starring the ever brilliant David Suchet, this week sees the Doctor helping Bill move house and show everyone his love of Little Mix. And were Paul and Phil scared witless? Were they reduced to quivering mounds of jelly (to be fair they both look like that anyway)? Tune in to find out!

And in the news this week, Torchwood gets a sequel to Miracle Day courtesy of Big Finish, Series 10 DVD/BluRay news, a new Doctor Who interactive game on Skype, plus Omega's Stats and Tat Corners!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #267 If you should go skating

In this episode, Paul and Phil put on their skating boots and head out onto the Thin Ice to review this weeks Doctor Who! Is this going to be 3 out of 3 for the Who's He? lads (ok, Phil wobbled a bit last week)? Will Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie continue their amazing on screen chemistry? Well, the answer is a resounding yes to both questions as they both enjoy the hell out of Sarah Dollard's 19th century set romp! We also find out what you at home thought as well in our listener feedback section.

And in the news, Steven Moffatt to attend this years Hay Festival and that's about it! But there is Omega's Stats Corner and Tat Corner to fill the void!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #266 A smile that relieves a heart that grieves

Smile! That's what the lads are doing whilst they review the second episode of this series of Doctor Who. But are they genuine happy smiling faces that Phil and Paul are sporting or are they the forced smiles that some of the characters were wearing this story? And as this is also Frank Cottrell Boyce's 2nd contribution to Doctor Who, do the lads think this is an improvement on In The Forest of The Night? Listen to find out what they thought and also what the listeners thought in our listener feedback.

And in a very quiet news week, episode 4 is getting a special 3D audio experience on the BBC iPlayer which leads Phil to try and explain binaural sound (he fails). And we also continue with our new feature, Omega's Stats Corner!

Who's He? Podcast #265 I come back to the place you are

It's here! After an excruciating wait, series 10 of Doctor Who is finally here in the shape of The Pilot. And what a way to begin! But what did Phil and Paul make of this story that had to introduce the new companion Bill Potts and 50 years of Doctor Who to introduce to a new audience? Well, the pair of them had plenty to say and with differing opinions also. Listen to find out what they said and also to what you thought with your listener feedback.

And in the news, they finally talk about John Simm's return as The Master in series 10, what the latest in rumour control is and with a new series comes stats in a new feature of the podcast - Omega's Stats Corner!

Marvel once again at Tony's spurious facts based on the day of the story's original broadcast, which causes Phil to become a little worried! Who's He? Podcast #262 Rip off the mask and lets see

It's Target time! Yes, Phil and Paul let rip on Eric Sawards novelisation of Attack of The Cybermen! A story where not much attacking happens and where the writer appears to be more happy writing an episode of The Sweeney than Doctor Who! However, the lads plough through and are pleased to note that there is feline action along with plenty of sewer action. And Paul cannot get Brian Glover out of his mind.

And in the news this week, a new series 10 trailer, Mondasian Cybermen return in series 10 and Phil and Paul come up with a theory as to when Peter Capaldi will actually leave Doctor Who.

And if you would like to vote for us in the British Podcast Awards, please click here

Who's He? Podcast #261 I saw him dancing there by the record machine

Phil and Paul once again return to their series 1 retrospective with a look at The End of The World, written by Russell T. Davies. This time, Phil and Paul have varying views on this one with Paul enjoying it and Phil a little bit more critical then he has been of late! This makes Paul go the defensive and Phil makes an admission of what happened when re-watching this story!

And in the news this week, the sad passing of actor Neil Fingleton, a series 10 teaser trailer, unsubstantiated claims that Class has been axed and in Omega's Tat Corner it's high class crystal tat!

Who's He? Podcast #260 I wanna be like you

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul delve into the cloning tanks and look into the face of The King of Sontar from Big Finish. Featuring the 4th Doctor and Leela, this story has a lot that Phil and Paul enjoy but they disagree slightly on a characters actions and Paul is obviously hungry during recording as he mistakes a character for an Italian dish.

In this the news week, the lads return to Peter Capaldi leaving and all the casting rumours for the 13th Doctor and there is news on a couple of returning foes for series 10.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #259 Trying to keep an eye on you

Well, after the lads had finished recording, the news broke that Peter Capaldi announced that he was leaving the role of the Doctor. Despite being caught on the hop, this not entirely unexpected turn of events never the less shocked certain fans but also there was the earth shattering news that Sir John Hurt sadly passed away and we also lost Philip Bond.

But once the news is discussed, it's down to business with their review of the Target novelisation of The Curse of Peladon by Brian Hayles. This is story is held in high regard by both Phil and Paul and never more relevant than it has ever been, so it was with some trepidation that Paul approached this story as he didn't want to get caught out by an appearance of King Peladon's thigh boots!

Who's He? Podcast #258 She lives with a broken man

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, it's back to 2005 where it all began again! Yes, this week Paul and Phil take a look at Christopher Eccleston's first appearance as the Doctor in Rose. So how does this story hold up after nearly 12 years? Just what was the impact back in 2005 and does it carry that same impact now? And are burping wheelie bins still not funny?

And in the news this week, audience figure woes continue for Class, director Rodney Bennett passes away and in Omega's Tat Corner, its board game tat!

Hooray! After what felt like an eternity, there was new Doctor Who to watch in the form of this years (or should that be last year now?) Christmas special, The Return of Doctor Mysterio. So, what do Phil and Paul make of superhero themed special? Is it Christmassy enough? Is it superhero..ee enough? Is it Doctor Who...eree (ok I'll stop now) enough? But most importantly after a year of no Doctor Who on our TV screens, was it worth the wait? Find out what they think, plus what our listeners thought of it too.

And in the news, it's the return of the dreaded stats, the series 10 trailer gets dissected by dedicated fans, more 4th Doctor adventures from Big Finish are on the way and there's New Years Honours news.

Who's He? Podcast #256 It's a wonderful, wonderful life

It's the Who's He? Podcast Christmas Special! And as the lads have run out of TV Christmas Specials to review (at least until The Feast Of Steven is recovered), they turn to Big Finish for help with a listen to Flip Flop featuring the 7th Doctor and Mel in a Christmas set story. It's the lads first Mel Bush audio story, so how will they find Mel now in this rather unique take on a time travel story, toned down or just as shrill as before? And just how festive is this story, does it reach the heights of an Andy Williams Christmas spectacular or as festive as a Seaside Special hosted by Peter Powell (ask your parents)?

And in the news this week, Class confirmed for a late night slot, Toby Whithouse confirmed for writing duties on series 10 and in Omega's Tat Corner it's time piece tat!

And finally, it just leaves us to say a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our listeners. Thanks for sticking with us!

Who's He Podcast #255 La la la, la la la la la

This week Paul and Phil discuss the final two episodes of Class, The Metaphysical Engine or What Quill Did and The Lost. And what did they think? Were they left disappointed or is there the promise of more to come and does it deserve a second series? Join Phil and Paul as they discuss this somewhat up and down series and marvel as Phil undermines his own argument.

And in the news, the broadcast time for The Return of Doctor Mysterio, the Vashta Nerada meet the 4th Doctor for Big Finish, Delia Derbyshire has a road named after her, an unwelcome return of the dreaded stats and in Omega's Tat Corner it's festive fare all round!

Who's He? Podcast #254 In the shadows of my life

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look at episodes 5 and 6 of Class, namely Brave-ish Heart and Detained. So how does the conclusion to the Shadowkin two parter fair? And what about our heroes having to divulge the truth to their friends in the claustraphobic Detained? Well to be honest, Phil and Paul are starting to struggle and compare, perhaps unfairly, the series so far to Miracle Day! A sure sign the pair of them are starting to struggle! But it's not all bad as they still find plenty of stuff to like. Honestly!

And in the news, a teaser, trailer, whatever for The Return of Doctor Mysterio on this years Children in Need and talking of the Christmas special, news of it being shown in US cinemas and Australian TV and the rumour mill starts up again about Capaldi leaving. Again.

Who's He? Podcast #253 You've been hurt so before

In this weeks Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul cast their eye over episodes 3 and 4 of Class, Nightvisiting and Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart. As a lot of Doctor Who fans are undecided, love it or hate it, what do Paul and Phil think of the series so far? Has it found its feet or is still finding its way and establish its identity? Well the pair of them seem to know, so tune in to listen to them discuss, argue, laugh and sword fight (that may be a lie) their way through this weeks podcast!

And in the news this week, a colourised version of the animated The Power of The Daleks is heading our way, The Doctor Who Experience is set to close, some semi-stats for Class and in Omega's Tat Corner its time for Christmas tat!

After months of waiting, Class is finally here! So after all the reviews are out and better late than never, Phil and Paul chime in with their views on For Tonight We Might Die and The Coach With The Dragon Tattoo. Did the dynamic duo enjoy this highly anticipated Doctor Who spin off? Did they agree on absolutely everything? Listen as you might be surprised! Or maybe it's business as usual?

And in the news, the extras are announced for the Power of The Daleks download and DVD release, three original Doctor Who books are re-released by BBC Books and the sad passing of Steve Dillon.

Who's He? Podcast #251 Because the revolution's here

This week, Phil and Paul read a book and talk about it! Yes, it's time for another Target review and this time they have chosen The Reign of Terror by Ian Marter to get their teeth into. And while Paul fends off fits of coughing during the recording, they both enjoy this tale of spies in revolutionary France and also make comparisions with the televised version but which fares better? Listen to find out!

And in the news, the title of this years Christmas special is revealed, a Class trailer hits the interwebs, there's awards news and the strange case of a classic series writer writing a script for series 10.

Who's He? Podcast #250 Can you hear me calling you?

We're here! Phil and Paul have finally arrived at the end of their series 2 retrospective and Doomsday. Yes, heartstrings will be pulled and old enemies will face each other in pure fan wish fulfilment but was it worth the wait in the most arduous series review ever conducted by a podcast or were they left wanting more? Listen as Paul is dragged down to Phil's level!

And in the news, it's all about Class and the strange decision of BBC America and a long overdue return to Omega's Tat Corner.

Who's He? Podcast #249 Think of me and I'll be there

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul review Seasons of Fear from Big Finish. This 8th Doctor story featuring Paul McGann and India Fisher as Charlie Pollard sees the Doctor chasing a foe through the history of Britain who is working for an old foe. Now, while the returning foe is revealed in their spoilerific review, Paul recounts how Phil ruined the reveal for him with a simple text message!

And in the news, Phil and Paul catch up with what has been happening and it's quite a bit actually! Peter Capaldi gives away when Doctor Who will return to our screens next year, Power of The Daleks has been animated, when Class will be airing on BBC3 and Christopher Eccleston regretting not doing a 2nd series.

And breathe!

In this companion special edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil chats to Marc Atkinson from the Progtor Who Podcast about his favourite companion - Rose Tyler.

They also discuss Marc's career as a gigging musician and also about his book Eternal, so don't miss it!

Links:

Website: http://progtorwho.co.uk
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/progtorwho
iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/progtor-who/id910131267?mt=2
Twitter: @marcdoctor

Who's He? Podcast #247 Ja tvoi Rabotnik robotnik

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul turn their attention to the Target novelisation of The Robots of Death by Terrance Dicks. In this classic Agatha Christie style whodunnit set IN THE FUTURE, can Phil and Paul separate the oh so wonderful images of the TV version from the written word or is this story just too damn good in its audio visual format? And will Paul ever get those tiny cows out of his mind?

And in the so called news, rumours abound that Peter Capaldi will stay on after series 10, Doctor Who: The Movie is coming to blu-ray and Peter Davison writes his autobiography.

Who's He? Podcast #245 They subjugate the meek

Yes, once again Phil and Paul return to their never ending series 2 retrospective with a look at Army of Ghosts and believe me, they will be glad when it's over as much as you! So, what do they think of this episode after all this time? Well, Phil in particular seems hell bent on picking holes in this story and saving all of his ire for bluetooth headsets, while Paul reveals his ghost busting secrets!

And in what is a very slow and practically non existent news week, Doctor Who Comics to appear at the San Diego Comic Con and confirmation of Tom Bakers character in Star Wars: Rebels!

In this episode, the lads take a look at The Crimes of Thomas Brewster from Big Finish starring Colin Baker and the late, great Maggie Stables. In a story of flying mechanical insects, living planets, South London gangsters and impersonation, join Phil and Paul as they provide for your listening pleasure a spoiler ridden discussion on a story they were both looking forward to reviewing, mainly because of the fantastic Evelyn Smythe!

And in the news this week, director news for series 10, awards nominations and honorary doctorates. Who's He? Podcast #243 If it's good for your mind

In this weeks show, Phil and Paul ponder over the Target novelisation of The Krotons written by Terrance Dicks. As this is neither Robert Holmes finest script and neither is it one the 2nd Doctor's finest stories, does the book address the many issues of this story, namely poor characterisation and some really clunky baddies? Listen to find out!

And in the news, Series 10 filming is underway with some casting and crew announcements to boot, Peter Capaldi makes the ballot stages of this years Emmy's, there's Damehood news and in Omega's Tat Corner, Phil plugs the Who's He? Who's He? Podcast #241 Picture H.G. Wells without a brain

This week it's time for an audio commentary and it's no ordinary commentary. Oh no, because Phil, Paul and a returning Tony decided to sit down and watch Timelash. Oh dear. Still, it was their decision, so they bravely battle through the entire story bringing you facts from the day of the original broadcast.

But they also take stock of what is happening before their eyes and notice the generous amounts of ham, how much H.G. Wells reminds them of Adric and how one actor is channelling David Bowie.

Who's He? Podcast #240 Makes me some kind of superman

In this weeks Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look at Primeval from Big Finish. This story sees the Doctor and Nyssa return to Traken but are they pawns in a game being played by a vengeful god? Well, if you listen to this, you'll find out because as usual, this review is full of spoilers (it was released in 2001 after all), so listen at your peril!

And in the news, a writers room is being considered for series 11, Big Finish sees its Doctor Who and Torchwood license renewed and there's awards news!

Who's He? Podcast #239 And I'll light the fuse

In this weeks episode, Phil and Paul return once again to their series 2 retrospective with a review of that firm fan favourite Fear Her by Matthew Graham. Yes, it's reached that point that the pair of them have been dreading. But have either Paul or Phil changed their minds about this story or do they still detest this with every fibre of the existence and is the Olympic dream dead?

And in the news, Phil and Paul play catch up with items they have missed over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately a few famous faces left us during that time but this is tempered with the announcement and trailer for the Doctors new companion!! And just how did this go down with fandom? And in Omega's Tat corner it's baking, drinking and watchmaking tat!

In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul return once again to the written word of Target with a look at Doctor Who and The Loch Ness Monster by Terrance Dicks. Based on Terror of The Zygons, a classic of Doctor who, Phil and Paul critique the changes made between screen and book and does it also add up to be a classic in written form also?

Also this week, Phil talks to composer and DJ Dominic Glynn who most of you should know rearranged the Doctor Who theme for season 23. Amongst other things, Dominic talks of his time working on the show and who and what inspired him to become a composer. Don't miss it!

And in the news, Peter Capaldi on series 11, the passing of another Who actor and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat that is strangely familiar.

Dominic Glynn Links:

Website: http://dominic-glynn.com/
Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/nobones-2
Twitter: @DominicGlynn1
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dominic.glynn

Who's He? Podcast #236 Holy Moses I have been removed

5 years ago three young fresh faced lads full of optimism began a podcast called the Who's He? Podcast. And now 5 years later, those same three lads are now old, knackered, jaded and still turning out the same old rubbish but thought they would celebrate this fact somehow.

So here we go then, it's the Who's He? Podcast 5th anniversary special! And in their usual style of not bothering with anything special, Phil, Paul and a returning and completely unprepared Tony provide for your listening pleasure a commentary for The Three Doctors!

To prove they have learnt absolutely nothing over the years, they bring you the same mix of silence, bad jokes, facts from the day of broadcast and more silence.

But a very big thank you to everyone who has stuck with us over the years, we very much appreciate it!

Who's He? Podcast #234 The darling of the stock exchange

In this weeks edition of the Who's He? Podcast, the intrepid reviewing duo of Phil and Paul press their ears against the radiogram to listen to Crime of The Century from Big Finish. In this 7th Doctor story set during what would have been series 27 had the show not been cancelled back in the day, the lads marvel at Sylvester McCoy's trapped in a box acting and despair at the alien villains talking like surfer dudes. But did they enjoy it? Listen to find out!

And in the news, series 10 to start filming in May, some Target book re-releases, semi-stats and in Omega's Tat Corner it's Doctor Who, Willy Wonka and Sherlock tat!

Who's He? Podcast #233 Overwhelming sorrow absorbs me

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul return to their series 2 retrospective with Love and Monsters. Yes, the pair of them were not looking forward to rewatching this not particularly well received story from Russell T. Davies, with Phil dreading having to watch Peter Kay and Paul dreading having to watch Marc Warren. But which one of them changed their mind about their least favourite actor and did either of them change their mind about this story?

And in a very slow news week, Steven Moffat receives an OBE and also lets slip that he is writing the 2017 Christmas special which leads Phil and Paul (with no authority at all) to announce that this will be Peter Capaldi's regeneration story. And in Omega's Tat Corner, it's blu-ray tat that everyone already owns.

In this weeks edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Paul and Phil read and review the Target novelisation of Planet of Fire written by Peter Grimwade. Yes, in a story that sees Turlough leave the TARDIS, the Master getting killed off (again) and Peri joining the TARDIS crew, the intrepid reviewing duo compare the TV version to the written word and decide that this is a saucy read due to the appearance of "the little Master". Listen to find out what that all means!

And in the news this week, Phil and Paul pay tribute to Robert Banks Stewart who sadly passed away and there's pointless awards news too!

Oh, and something about Steve Moffat leaving and Chris Chibnall taking over.

Who's He? Podcast #230 Something nasty in your garden's waiting

In their first podcast of 2016, Phil and Paul have a listen to Legend of The Cybermen, a sixth Doctor audio story from Big Finish. In this sequel to the Mind Robber, The War Games AND the Wheel in Space, the Doctor teams up again with Zoe Heriot and Jamie McCrimmon to tackle the Cybermen in a most unpredictable place. So will Phil and Paul enjoy this rather continuity heavy story? Listen to find out but be aware that there are spoilers aplenty in this weeks podcast!

And in the news this week, Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat hint that series 10 could be their last, Paul McGann is up for returning as the Doctor on TV and in Omega's Tat Corner, two items of tat that neither Phil nor Paul understand.

Who's He? Podcast #229 He'll say: Are you married?

Full of booze and turkey, Phil and Paul review this years Christmas special The Husbands of River Song written by Steven Moffat. Did they find this years special to be the present they wanted from Santa or was it a disappointing pair of y-fronts from a relative they don't know? Well, if you listen to this it may be difficult to tell but they review this story with the same level of professionalism they deliver each week. In other words - none.

And in the news this week, it's the final stats of the year, the possibility of Doctor Who being made by an independent production company and in Omega's Tat Corner it's drinks related tat!

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #228 There are thousands standing on the edge of the world

Ho ho ho!! Welcome to the Who's He? Podcast Christmas Special as once again the Doctor Who specials of Christmas past are plundered to reveal The Christmas Invasion featuring the full debut of David Tennant as the Doctor. Join Ebeneezer Phil and Frosty Paul as they reminisce about the first Doctor Who Christmas special since The Feast of Steven and ponder whether this story required more of the Doctor and whether this is a stuffed tasty turkey of a Christmas story or a certifiable plum duff?

And in the news, Phil admits to his lies from the previous podcast and brings more stats to the proceedings, new writers hinted for Series 10 and one last Christmas gift in Omega's Tat Corner.

Who's He? Podcast #227 She will die and live again tonight

This is it folks, the series finale! Join Phil and Paul as they ponder over Hell Bent but is the review you were expecting? Was this the episode that Phil and Paul were expecting? Well, it appears not and don't hold back with what they exactly thought which could put them at odds with the rest of fandom! However, this week the reviewing duo discuss whether lots of good ideas make a good story, new sonic screwdrivers, the return of Clara Oswald and just how good did that classic TARDIS console room look?

There is also listener feedback on the finale and also some familiar voices sum up series 9.

And in the news, another update on the North American DVD release of The Underwater Menace, the annual Bonhams auction, the last stats of this year and in Omega's Tat Corner it's yet another Christmas jumper and model kit that has Phil salivating.

Who's He? Podcast #226 You'll see a smilin' face, a fireplace, a cozy room

As this series of Doctor Who rumbles on towards it's conclusion, Phil and Paul look at the penultimate episode Heaven Sent by Steve Moffat. And what an episode! The reviewing duo are lost for words at the majesty of Peter Capaldi, Steven Moffat's script, Murray Gold's musical score and Rachel Talalay's direction! Mind you, they can't help themselves and nit pick at things that don't make sense (to them anyway) but Phil tries his hand at not one but two plot theories!

And in the news this week, the sad passing of Anthony Read, could the German DVD release of series 9 hold the key as to when it will be released in the rest of the world, the dreaded stats and in Omega's Tat Corner it's jewellery and bathroom fun!

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #225 We never realise until we're dead

On this weeks show, Phil and Paul decide to look at the beady eye of an evil member of the crow family and Face The Raven! Yes, this is the big one folks, Clara Oswald has left the building! Or has she? Join Phil and Paul in the podcasting equivalent of a trap street and listen to them ponder over the merits of Ashildr's plan to entice the Doctor into her web of deceit and was this a good exit for Jenna Coleman and will she back?

And in the news this week, extended run times for Heaven Sent and Hell Bent, a possible R1 DVD release for The Underwater Menace and of course, stats.

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #224 No sleep till bedtime

In this weeks edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a sleepy eyed look at Sleep No More written by Mark Gatiss. In what seems to be a story that has divided fans (no change there), they try to decide whether this story makes any sense, their views on found footage stories and whether Mark Gatiss wrote this with Condo in mind.

And in a change to the usual news section (there are still stats, so don't worry stats fans!), Phil and Paul report on their adventures at the Doctor Who Festival.

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #223 All along, knew you were a phony girl

After being away last week, a returning Phil and Ghostbuster Paul tackle not only The Zygon Invasion but also The Zygon Inversion in a podcast episode that Phil lovingly refers to as a "double banker". And what a 2 parter! With it's themes of tolerance, terrorism and a damn fine performance from Peter Capaldi (seriously, give that man an Oscar, a BAFTA, an Emmy, whatever! Give him something!) and Jenna Coleman, the Who's He? Podcast review what could be the best story since the show was revived in 2005 (hey, that rhymes!).

And in the news this week, Steven Moffatt quashes the rumours that series 10 will only be 6 episodes, while Peter Capaldi chastises the BBC for the scheduling times for series 9 (hey, that rhymed again, I'm on a roll!) and in Omega's Tat Corner, Character Options and Toys R Us do a deal to bring you dolly tat!

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #222 Qua qua da diddley qua qua

This week Phil and Paul cast their eye over episode 6 of this series of Doctor Who, The Woman Who Lived. Unfortunately neither of them found this particularly entertaining but neither did they actively dislike it. What a quandary! But when you have a pointless appearance of Thundercats and one of the lead characters channelling an episode of Blackadder, there is still plenty to discuss!

And in the news this week, David Tennant and Catherine Tate are confirmed to return to their roles of the Doctor and Donna Noble for Big Finish, K9 and our very own Omega are set to star in their own feature film and in the now film superstar Omega and his Tat Corner, it's the return of festive tat!

All this plus listener feedback!

Who's He? Podcast #221 Of how we calmed the tides of war

In this weeks edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul cast their eye over The Girl Who Died, episode 5 of this series of Doctor Who. And after first 4 episodes of serious Who, this week we get a light hearted romp that has got fandom talking! So sit back and listen to Phil and Paul chat about this tale of Vikings mixed with Monty Python's Holy Grail by way of the A-Team!

Also in this weeks episode, Phil talks to author Lynn Hamilton about her book Mysteries Of Doctor Who: Mythos, Speculation and Continuity and how she became a fan of the show.

And in the news, good news for Sir John Hurt, the dreaded stats and in Omega's Tat Corner it's silver tat and a jumper that should come with a health warning.

Who's He? Podcast #220 We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood

A bamboozled Phil and Paul look at this weeks offering of Doctor Who, Before The Flood. Why are they bamboozled though? Bootstrap paradoxes that's why! Yes, as they try to get their heads around this concept, they find time to disagree on the merits of breaking the fourth wall and the Doctor once again picking up his guitar. However, they do agree on a lot of things and weigh up whether this was a successful two part story and also delve into whether Doctor Who is striking the right balance for audiences old and new.

And in the news, the sad loss of Derek Ware, photographic evidence the episode 3 of Web Of Fear, the future of K9 and of course the dreaded stats! Meanwhile, Omega's Tat Corner is full of LEGO!

Who's He? Podcast #219 Hollow eyes, numb inside

This week Phil and Paul review Under The Lake, the 3rd episode of series 9 of Doctor Who. And once again the planets have aligned as they both agree on this episode! But was it a return to classic stories of old and did the ensemble cast really gel? Do ghosts exist? Well, they don't answer that question but rest assured they get stuck right into this story and come out the other side with their heads held high reading listener feedback!

And in the news, a new Doctor Who spin off show was announced that caught everyone off guard, John Hurt reprises his role as the War Doctor for Big Finish which REALLY caught everyone off guard and once again Phil and Paul get an attack of stats!

Who's He? Podcast #218 A good old British PONG!

This week Phil and Paul cast their eye over The Witch's Familiar, the 2nd episode of series 9 of Doctor Who. After enjoying last weeks episode (with reservations!) what will they think of this weeks tale of a duplicitous Davros, a manipulative Missy and Dalek sewers that whiff of writers block? Well, both of them have a lot to talk about, so settle back in your chairs and listen to two disgruntled podcasters moaning!

And in the news this week, the rumour that David Tennant and Catherine Tate are to join Big Finish, just what did happen to episode 3 of The Web Of Fear and in Omega's Tat Corner it's what the world has been waiting for.....Missy tat!

Who's He? Podcast #217 And he said I was evil

Doctor Who is back and so is the Who's He? Podcast! After Skype got over its little hiccup (thanks a bunch Skype), Phil and Paul at last were able chat about The Magician's Apprentice, episode 1 of series 9. And what an opening episode! Davros, Missy, Skaro, Daleks old and new and a man made out of snakes that glides around like Cliff Richard on roller skates! But what did Paul and Phil think of this story and was it worth the wait? Well, there were caveats to them enjoying this episode, in fact it has lot to do with the Doctor's guitar styling's to be exact! But towards the end both Phil and Paul start rambling like they were in a rest home for elderly gentlemen which may cause some people to switch off.

And in the news it's the return of the dreaded stats, Jenna Coleman is confirmed as leaving Doctor Who, series 9 episodes titles have been released and more Big Finish Torchwood casting news.

Who's He? Podcast #216 Companion Special - Clara Oswald

In an occasional series, the Who's He? Podcast talk about those people who have travelled with the Doctor over the last 50 or so years - the companions. Those people who have stepped through the doors of the TARDIS and have seen the wonder and the dangers of travelling in time and space.

In this edition, Phil is joined by Erika Ensign from the Verity Podcast and Stephen Schapansky from Radio Free Skaro who have selected as their favourite companion, Clara Oswald. They discuss why Clara is the perfect companion, just how important a strong character such as hers is to keeping Doctor Who fresh and they both pick the moments that defined Clara for them.

Who's He? Podcast #215 I left alone, my mind was blank

In their never ending quest to get through their series 2 retrospective, Phil and Paul look at The Satan Pit. After the magnificence of The Impossible Planet, is this story a satisfying conclusion or does it fall into the same pit of mediocrity that befalls many a 2 part story? However, the discussion leads Paul to wonder why the bases Chief of Security only carries one bullet and Phil tries to figure out why announcements must be made when raising shields.

And in the news, a mini prequel to series 9 is to be shown in front of the Dark Water/Death Heaven 3D cinema showings, the New York Symphonic Spectacular has been cancelled, Welsh BAFTA and Hugo awards news and in Omega's Tat Corner, some very nice looking but expensive tat!

Who's He? Podcast #214 It's just a spring clean for the May Queen

This week Phil and Paul tackle the Target novelisation of The Awakening, that "ahem", fondly remembered 5th Doctor story written by Eic Pringle. During their discussion, they talk about cadaverous old men, cavaliers and roundheads and Phil laments that this was a missed opportunity for Doctor Who to reference one of his favourire horror films.

And in the news, a new series 9 trailer, the air time on BBC America for The Magicians Apprentice, Strax meets Jago and Litefoot in a Big Finish story and in Omega's Tat Corner, it's a tat update!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #213 I'm not at my usual top billing

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul look at Minuet in Hell from Big Finish. In this tale of debauchery, lost identities and American politics, both Phil and Paul remain astounded at the bad accents on display but also the majesty of a Nicholas Courtney performance that lifts a very average Doctor Who story.

But in the news this week, rumours that series 10 will not air in 2016 which leads Paul and Phil to discuss the many theories that tag along with this rumour, Reece Shearsmith is cast in series 9 of Doctor Who and NASA prove they have nothing better to do than name craters on a moon after their favourite sci-fi characters.

Who's He? Podcast #212 Heaven send hell away

Live from London, the Who's He? Podcast team of Phil & Paul who both live in London, return to their ongoing series 2 retrospective with a look at The Impossible Planet which doesn't take place in London. This is a classic of Who so do the lads both feel that this is still a classic or does the fact this story isn't set in London hurt it somewhat? They also wander off topic and start discussing Disney's The Black Hole and both marvel at the wonderful London accents used by the actors.

And in the news this week, a Doctor Who 3D film event that disgustingly won't be shown in London and BARB will take into account online viewing figures, especially those in London.

Visit London.

Who's He? Podcast #211 I felt a little like a dying clown

To kick off this weeks podcast, Phil and Paul play catch up with all the news they have missed over the last couple of weeks which means a recap on the announcement of the series 9 premiere date and the trailer! Sorry! But there is the news that series 10 has already been commissioned, some guest announcements for the Doctor Who Festival in November and some more Big Finish news!

But once the news is out of the way, they crack on with their review of the novelisation of The Power of The Daleks. This is a change for them both as this isn't strictly a Target book and they had no DVD to compare the book to! So sit back and listen to the pair of them discuss devious Daleks, characters with no redeeming qualities and a love triangle worthy of The Love Boat!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #210 Oh I've seen the light

In a momentous news week for Doctor Who, Phil takes the extraordinary step of interrupting this weeks news section with the air date for series 9, a brand spanking new series 9 trailer and a trailer featuring the Doctor for Lego Dimensions! But back in the past with the lads original news item, they try to catch up on the news they have missed over the last couple of weeks and they even try to fit in a quick soujorn to Omega's Tat Corner.

But the real reason for this weeks episode is the continuation of their audio commentary for The Stones Of Blood episodes 3 and 4. So queue more facts from the day of original transmission and Tony yet again continues with his extremely libellous facts on Tom Baker!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #209 Some in circles, some alone

It's that time of year where Phil and Paul get Tony back on the podcast in a sweltering July day for an audio commentary and this time it's The Stones of Blood episodes 1 and 2. And because it was so damn hot, they chose to not do any news this week and just crack on with proceedings. So queue lots of facts from the day of original episode broadcast, Tony gives an insight into Tom Bakers treatment of the working classes and this commentary also features lots of talk about sex toys.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #208 You want more and you want it fast

What have the Romans ever done for us? According to Boudica not much as Phil and Paul review the 4th Doctor Big Finish story The Wrath of The Iceni. In this story of ancient Britain and the rebellion against the empire (the Roman one that is), Phil and Paul have a little disagreement of their own as both have opposing views on this story and on the Doctor! So sit back and listen to two old gits who most likely had first hand experience of the Roman occupation.

And in the news, Steven Moffat gets an OBE, a series 9 teaser trailer, San Diego Comic Con tat that didn't make it into Omega's Tat Corner and John Nathan Turner gets his own bus.

And Phil now refers to you all as fans, not listeners as his ego runs rampant.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #207 They're putting us in little boxes

This week Phil and Paul give their series 2 retrospective a dusting down with a look The Idiot's Lantern written by Mark Gatiss. Both of them seem to have a bit of hard time with this one, with ropey acting and the Doctor and Rose being more smug that it is humanly possible to stomach. However, Phil gets cold feet while criticising an actor with dubious connections while Paul quickly distances himself by pinching the last lifeboat.

And in the news, the Doctor Who Festival is coming to London this November, casting and writer news for series 9 and in Omega's Tat Corner, John Barrowman gets scrutinised and a new Doctor Who Plush doll for which Paul uses to plug the all new Phil Plush doll that comes with four adorable catchphrases!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #206 Botanical creature stirs seeking revenge

Once again Phil & Paul dip their toes into the literary world with a review of the Target novelisation of that confirmed fan fvourite Terror Of The Vervoids by Pip and Jane Baker (note the sarcasm there?). Well....I think you know what to expect from this one folks but let's go through the motions shall we? Does this book put right all the wrongs of the TV serial and does the description of the Vervoids improve on their presentation on the screen? But Phil and Paul actually disagree on the merits of the Vervoids which I think they did to liven things up a bit. However, mentions of Police Squad and Charley Farley and Piggy Malone break things up, so it's not all bad!

And in the news this week, Phil seeks Paul's opinion on Moffat staying on for another year which he missed out on during the last podcast, plus news of the Moff feeling guilty about reversing the outcome of the Time War and in Omega's Tat Corner it's tat for those cold, dark barbecue evenings!

Who's He? Podcast #205 They say she comes on a pale horse

This weeks episode of the Who's He? Podcast starts off strangely as Paul is off out and about and it's left down to Phil to present the quickest news section ever for this podcast. And all he can talk about is whinging Doctor Who fans angry at the news that Steven Moffat has signed up for series 10 and talk of the 12th Doctor fancying Clara in series 9. But let's face it, Phil loves talking about whinging fans.

But once the news is out of the way, it's down to business and Phil and a returning Paul discuss Master, the 3rd in the 40th Anniversary trilogy from Big Finish in 2003. So after enjoying Davros last time, will this be 2 out of 3 for enjoyment or will this join Omega in the not great category? But in a tale of lost memories, spooky houses, serial killers and Death itself, what's not to enjoy? Tune in to find out!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #204 Into the valley of steel

Once again it's time to for Phil and Paul to return to series 2 with their ongoing retrospective and The Age Of Steel. But after a few weeks of happiness, the podcast comes down to earth with a bump as while they find this is quite enjoyable, there is a lot wrong with it, especially for Phil who wears his grumpy face throughout this episode, with talk of Cybermen that can tip-toe and what was the point of Cybus anyway?

And Phil also keeps his grumpy face on during the news whilst talking about the return of Osgood in series 9 but gets a lot happier towards the end with the news that Doctor Who will be making an appearance in an upcoming LEGO video game.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #203 Dinosaurs roaming the earth

In this weeks episode, Phil and Paul take a look at another Target novelisation with Doctor Who And The Dinosaur Invasion by Malcom Hulke. This is a story that both Paul and Phil love with a plot that has more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing and rubbish puppet dinosaurs. So did this book change any of those plots twists and did it go to any lengths to address the dinosaur factor? What did they find in addition were drunken Scotsmen, no cars of vanity and Phil trying to convince Paul of a what he believes to be a major change to one of the characters.

And in this news, more cast names and the episode total for Series 9, Doctor Who wins a BAFTA amd in Omega's Tat Corner it's pricey tat that both Phil and Paul would like to own.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #202 I've seen the future, I can't afford it

In this weeks show, Phil and Paul review Davros, which is the 2nd part of a trilogy from Big Finish to celebrate Doctor Who's 40th anniversary. And what a story it is, with neither of them having a bad word to say about it, this really is a Doctor Who love in! So expect the pair of them to continue with the praise for Colin Baker but be warned....both Phil and Paul were ill during this recording, so you may catch something.

And in a bumper news section, it looks like a Doctor Who movie is on the cards (again), more from Christopher Eccleston on why he left the role and in Omega's Tat Corner, tons of Weeping Angel tat and Omega gets saucy!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #201 Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood

After what seems like years, Phil and Paul return to their series 2 retrospective with a look at Rise Of The Cybermen. How do the pair of them feel about this story after all these years and did it stand up as a reboot of the iconic Doctor Who villain? They discuss these topics whilst also comparing the Preachers to Citizen Smith which causes Paul to delve into Google.

And in the news, the pair of them try bravely to discuss a potential spoiler without actually telling anyone what the spoiler is and in Omega's Tat Corner it's time for Pop-tastic figures and some really expensive bluetooth speakers.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #200 I think you're the same as me

In this the 200th edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul have selected a suitable Target book to review in the shape of The Five Doctors. As usual they make comparisions between the book and the televised version and try to ascertain what differences there are in this story from the pen of Terrance Dicks. Also, does anything make the book better than the broadcast story? But I'll let you into a little secret....they both like this story anyway, so expect them both to gush horribly.

And they try to play catch up with the news that haven't covered over the last few weeks which includes Peter Capaldi surprising fans at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, the Hugo nominations, series 9 casting news and the future of Doctor Who on the TV.

Who's He? Podcast #199 There they laid side by side

In this weeks show, Phil, Paul and Tony continue with their commentary for The Gunfighters with episodes 3 & 4. And yet again they struggle to get through another 2 episodes of barely concealed English accents but they do bring you facts from the day of the original broadcast to liven things up and stop themselves dying from boredom.

And in a replacement for the news, Phil and Paul take the opportunity to look back 26th March 2005 when Rose was broadcast in a small celebration of the 10th anniversary of Doctor Who returning to our screens.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #198 It's a mean old scene

It's the Who's He? Podcasts 4th birthday and what better than a commentary to celebrate! Yes, Phil, Paul and a returning Tony plough through episodes 1 & 2 of The Gunfighters, that well regarded William Hartnell classic from 1966. Well I say well regarded as the brave trio manfully struggle with phoney American accents and try to bring you facts from the day of the original broadcast. In fact, they talk about that more than the episodes themselves, that's how bad it is!!

And there is no news this week, as they just wanted to get cracking with the commentary for a change.

And a big thank you to all our listeners for sticking with us for the past 4 years!!

Who's He? Podcast #197 I can't hide

In this weeks show, Phil and Paul look at Omega from Big Finish. This story was the first in a trilogy to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Doctor Who in 2003 and this tale featuring the 5th Doctor saw him going up against his old nemesis, Omega. But how does this hold up today? Well, if their reaction is anything to go by, not very well! And Phil is let down by Caroline Munro which makes him sad.

And in the news this week, the sad passing of another Who actor, the Saturn Awards nominations are announced, the Horror Channel comes to Freeview (which means Doctor Who for all) and in Omega's Tat Corner it's board game mania!

Who's He? Podcast #196 Though the magic lingers round you still

It's book review time once again on the Who's He? Podcast and this time they look at their first 7th Doctor novelisation with Battlefield. But oh dear, what is this? Phil starts off grumpy and sees fit to pick holes in the story? And Paul does too? And they can't help themselves with poking fun at the TV version as well? Will they change their tune before the end of the review? Listen to find out!!

And in the news this week, Phil and Paul pay tribute to Barry Newbury who sadly passed away and in Omega's Tat Corner it's ingot and umbrella time!!

Who's He? Podcast #195 But the clock, tick-tock on the mantlepiece

Fresh from the Gallifrey One convention, the Who's He? Podcast come back down to earth with a bump as they continue their series 2 retrospective with The Girl In The Fireplace. What can they say about this rightly regarded modern classic of Doctor Who that hasn't already been said? Not much really but it does lead Phil and Paul onto a discussion about whether Steven Moffat being the head writer, Executive Producer and Script Editor of Doctor Who is a good thing and can lessons be learnt from the past?

And in a slow news week, the return of Missy in series 9, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart debuts on Big Finish and in Omega's Tat Corner it's tat for your fridges, laptops and bedroom walls.

Who's He? Podcast #194 Gally Diary - Day 3

It's the final day of the Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles and Phil files his final report on events.

In an episode that features tears and Phil's terrible hearing, he leaves you all with gushing but hopefully rousing reasons why you should attend this most fantastic of conventions.

Who's He? Podcast #193 Gally Diary - Day 2

Yes, follow Phil on his latest adventures at the Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles as he takes in a full day of panels!

However, do you remember yesterday when he said he would try to interview some cosplayers? Well, prepare to be disappointed as he sat on his backside all day listening to people talk, the lazy bast......

Who's He? Podcast #192 Gally Diary - Day 1

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil quickly charts his first day of the Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles (ooh, get him!), where he blathers on about the panels he attended and the cosplaying situation.

Mind you, please be aware that this is just Phil talking on his own with no backup from anyone. It's like the podcast has done an unplugged session and by the end of this, you'll wish he had been.

Who's He? Podcast #191 I seem to be what I'm not, you see

In a special edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil chats to comedian, artist and cartoonist Robbie Bonham about the Peter Cushing Dalek movies, Doctor Who And The Daleks and Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD. But along the way, Robbie tells Phil how he first got into Doctor Who, the wonders of VHS tapes, Amicus films and how dresssing up as the Doctor in public is a difficult look to pull off.

If you want to see any of Robbie Bonham's artwork, please take a look at his website:

http://www.robbiebonham.com

Who's He? Podcast #190 Gee it's good to be back home

It's time for another Target book review and this time Phil and Paul have chosen Destiny Of The Daleks written by Terrance Dicks. Phil is not such a fan of this story, so his judgement is already quite clouded, while Paul tries to find the good story lurking beneath. While this book is the fastest release Target made after a story's transmission (and it shows!), the shabby nature of the TV serial shines through which only leads Phil to conclude that the one thing that could have saved the book and the TV serial is extra boobs.

And in the news this week, how Doctor Who fared at the National Television awards, some more series 9 updates, Russell T. Davies on writing a Doctor Who movie script and in Omega's Tat Corner it's kitchen tat and some new figures that evoke memories of a BBC newsreader from days gone by.

Who's He? Podcast #189 Some sporting prince of Aunt Florence's

In this week episode, the Who's He? Podcast look at another Big Finish title The Auntie Matter starring Tom Baker and Mary Tamm. In this tale of chinless wonders, maiden Aunts and apologetic murderous robot butlers, Phil and Paul lament the fact this is the first ever story that they have reviewed that features Mary Tamm and can't believe why they haven't featured her so far and they discuss whether this story really fits in with season 16.

And in the news, there are no stats!! But there is news of Russell T. Davies of never wanting to write for Doctor Who again, some more series 9 filming news and John Barrowman announces the return of further Torchwood audio stories that gives Phil unwanted flashbacks to Miracle Day.

Who's He? Podcast #188 Oh, I remember you

This week Phil and Paul finally return to their series 2 retrospective with the beloved School Reunion written by Toby Whithouse. And what a story to return to! Sarah Jane Smith and K9 make their return to the Whoniverse in a tale of old friends and tasty chips. Other topics crop up along the way with reasons why Anthony Head should have been made the Master, Rose at her most possessive and sparkling dialogue!

And in the news, the sad passing of Bernard Kay and Fiona Cummings, yet more stats for Last Christmas and in Omega's Tat Corner some beverage tat news that descends into filth.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #187 They sold me a dream of Christmas

It's the last podcast of 2014 and what else what Phil and Paul review but Last Christmas, this years Doctor Who Christmas special!! So do they make of this years festive offering? Well, they make the case for Shona McCullough to not be the next companion in the Tardis and Phil is not too sure whether the subect matter is suitable for a Christmas special and Paul, still recovering in his sick bed, wonders whether this story actually needed Santa Claus at all.

And in the news, the overnight viewing figure for Last Christmas, the future of Jenna Coleman seems to be set and the Doctor tops a BFI poll of the best sci-fi characters.

Who's He? Podcast #186 Just a beer light to guide us

Yes, it's the Who's He? Podcast Christmas Special and once again they look back at a Doctor Who Christmas Special of the past and this year it's the turn of The Runaway Bride. And joining Phil this time is Martyn Havell from the Bad Wilf Podcast who fills in for an absent Paul. So how kindly has time treated this story of giant spiders, jilted brides, robot Santa's and Tardis car chases? Is it a case of Christmas cheer or a case of bah humbug?

And in the news, the passing of Tom Adams, a series of Colonel Lethbridge Stewart novels are announced, news of a BBC theme park and in Omega's Tat corner it's metal tat!

Who's He? Podcast #185 Come and keep your comrade warm

In this weeks episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul return to the audio stories of Big Finish with a look at the 7th Doctor story Thin Ice, the first in the Lost Stories series. What will Phil and Paul make of this cold war era story featuring Ice Warriors, East End spivs, phony Russian accents and fish fingers? Tune in to find out!

And in the news this week, this years Christmas special has a name and air time and it's the return of the dreaded stats!! Plus in Omega's Tat corner, some very expensive and cheap tat!

Who's He? Podcast #184 What I do ain't make believe

In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast we celebrate the 51st anniversary of Doctor Who as the BBC couldn't be bothered. And to celebrate, Phil and Paul go back to their Target novelisation reviews with a look at the 1st anniversary special The Three Doctors. As they look over this classic story, they ponder over certain famous quotes missing from the book version and Phil delves back into his past and gives an insight to his more violent side.

And in the news, Peter Capaldi reveals he once turned down the role of a lifetime and what he would like for the TARDIS, Bernard Cribbins receives a J.M. Barrie award and in Omega's Tat Corner, some festive tat and some rip off tat that you would need to take a payday loan out for.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #183 You don't know what you're missing now

In this weeks episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look back over series 8 of Doctor Who (not series 7 as Phil stated last week!) and deliver their opinion of the series as a whole. And for once they try and have some semblance of structure to the critique but this soon goes out of the window while talking about hot topics such as plot threads that went nowhere, the real plot arc of this series and the effect Peter Capaldi has had on the show. But more importantly they vote for their favourite and least favourite episodes, plus which directors and writers they would like to see return for series 9!

And in the news this week, the final round of the dreaded stats, the extension of the TARDIS set tours into December and a little report on their visit to Doctor Who: Anatomy of a Hit hosted by the Royal Television Society.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #182 He opened the lid and shook his fist

It's the finale of series 8 with Death In Heaven by Steven Moffat. And did this finale deliver the goods and did Moffat keep his fairly good track record and deliver another quality series finish? Well, Phil and Paul really can't make their minds up in what proves to be a very argumentative episode. Yes, Phil and Paul seem quite content to contradict one another all through this and as usual Phil is angrier than most. In fact he gets so wound up, he misses plot points that Paul has to remind him of and he even stops remembering what series he has been watching!

And in the news, more stats to bore you with, award news, the BBC responds to complaints over Dark Water which naturally gets Phil riled up and in Omega's Tat Corner, more tat from Titan and the New Zealand Mint.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #181 The coal black sea waits forever

Dark Water, the penultimate episode of this series of Doctor Who. And this story has yet again caused fandom to to start infighting with perceived obvious plot developments and gender swapping being at the heart of all the complaints. But what of Phil and Paul? Are they also divided on their opinion? Do they agree with the complaints being levelled at this story? Listen to find out!

And in the news, the weekly drudgery of stats, the Doctor Who Experience has a problem which leads to Phil and Paul starting rumours, Welsh BAFTA's and in Omega's Tat Corner, a 5th Doctor jumper to keep you warm on those cold winter nights! Or you could just put the heating on.

Who's He? Podcast #180 Because you told the blabbering trees

In this weeks episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look at In The Forest Of The Night, the latest and what seems to be the most poorly recieved episode in this series of Doctor Who. But what do the lads think of this one? Well to give you an idea, Phil comes up with a zombie attack ending, Paul casts a critical eye over the late night scheduling of Doctor Who - Extra and they both plan their seperate futures with Danny Pink.

And in the news this week, the sad passing of Lynda Bellingham, news of a special event for the release of the series 8 DVD/Blu-Ray boxset, the mind numbing tedium that is stats and in Omega's Tat Corner Phil encourages the audience to become criminals.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #179 No room all round the walls are full

On this weeks editiion of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look at Flatline, episode 9 of this series of Doctor Who. Does this second story penned by Jamie Mathieson live up to the majesty of his first story Mummy On The Orient Express or does this episode live up to its title and flatline? During the discussion, Phil references a film that Paul hasn't seen and also a Playstation game that Paul hasn't played. Yep, the conversation is dynamite in this one!

And in the news, the passing of two more people involved in Doctor Who, Omega's Tat Corner makes a brief return and in stat news, Phil gets flashbacks to The Love Boat again.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #178 Feel your heart may stop

The Who's He? Podcast plough on with their review of series 8 of Doctor Who and this week it's the turn of Mummy On The Orient Express. After last weeks episode that divided fandom, is this a story that finds fandom reunited and more importantly do Phil and Paul show a united front also? Will Phil rant like he did last week or is it Paul's turn? One thing is for sure, they have longer than 66 seconds to decide! But the prog rock dinosaurs that they are, they still can't figure out just who Foxes is.

And in an incredibly quiet news week, they can only bring you stats!!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #177 Hanging by a little thread

Kill The Moon, the most divisive of episodes this series so far! Fans either love or hate this Marmite flavoured episode but what about the Who's He? Podcast? Well, they certainly don't sit on the fence and are quite clear on what they thought but after a very long time, Phil lets rip with a rant that will most likely lose this podcast listeners! But they discuss the things that have divided opinion such as the Moon is a egg, spiders on the luna surface and the biggest question of all, where does this episode leave the Doctor and Clara?

And in the news this week, the Doctor Who Exhibition reopens its doors, The Mind of Evil to be shown in colour on Retro TV and the dreaded stats!!

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #176 It was against the law

This week and with some trepidation, the Who's He? Podcast reviewing duo take a look at The Caretaker, episode 6 of series 8 of Doctor Who. But why the trepidation? Well, Phil is not exactly Gareth Roberts biggest fan, so his usually well balanced (ahem) critique is under scrutiny, while Paul is much more reserved and ponders over the plot and wonders whether the alien of the week needed to be there at all? And Phil gets caught off guard by being pleasantly surprised not once but twice!

And in the news, the sad loss of Maggie Stables, more stats than you can handle, more DVD news and in Omega's Tat Corner it's rare tat time and quite possibly the most expensive and biggest item of tat ever!

Who's He? Podcast #175 To a chain they'll attach me

In this weeks episode Phil and Paul tackle the Stephen Thompson and Steven Moffat penned story Time Heist, the latest in this series of Doctor Who and oh dear! Phil and Paul get a bit tetchy with each other during in what proves to be a fairly bumpy discussion and sit on opposite sides of the fence throwing stones at other. Yes, after what seems an eternity, a disagreement on the Who's He? Podcast!!

And in the news this week, the sad passing of Angus Lennie, loadsa stats, DVD releases that have been named "quasi tat" and in real tat news, the official 12th Doctor figure is released.

Listen: podcast - audio/mpeg

Who's He? Podcast #174 And I can hear it breathing

This week Phil and Paul have to pay attention and listen to this weeks episode of Doctor Who with erm...Listen. In what has been described as the scariest episode of Doctor Who ever, does the weight of expectation bear down too heavily on this story or does it live up to the hype? Phil and Paul give you their opinion in a somewhat different format this week as they are actually in the same room to record and also they attempt this review directly after watching the episode on the night of broadcast!

And in the news the sad passing of Jane Baker, a new Guinness World Record holder for Doctor Who tat, Omega's Tat Corner and as this week they are recording before the overnight viewing figures were released, they play What's The Stats for possibly the first and last time!

Who's He? Podcast #173 For this I'd gone when I met Little John

Foldy roldy ray do day!! Tis another week for the Who's He? Podcast and this time they review Mark Gatiss's take on ye olde legend of Robin Hood, Robot of Sherwood. And verily did Phil wax and wane with opinion of this story, the knave, while young Master Paul doth quip merrily on this episode, the Prince among fans that he is.

Meanwhile, back in the 21st century world of news items, stats, stats and more stats, the decision by the BBC to make an edit to this weeks episode, Peter Capaldi wins TV Personality of the Year at the GQ awards and in Omega's Tat Corner some tat that enables Phil to get some cheap laughs.

Who's He? Podcast #172 Cause I'm in need of some restraint

The Doctors arch nemesis is back in episode 2 of series 8, Into The Dalek. Does this story add anything new to the Dalek mythos and does it make the nations favourite bad guys bad again or reduced to fairground ride status? Join Phil and Paul as they dissect this story from the returning pen of Phil Ford (and Steven Moffat) and look inside a good Dalek. Or a bad Dalek, a shy Dalek, a coy Dalek, an embarrassed Dalek, a coquettish Dalek, a romantic Dalek....(alright, get on with it!)

And in the news, the sad passing of Bill Kerr which leads Paul and Phil to reminisce about the golden age of British radio comedy and yep, you guessed it, more stats!!

Who's He? Podcast #171 Leave but don't leave me

After months of anticipation the wait is finally over, Doctor Who is back!! Yes this week Phil and Paul review Peter Capaldi's first episode Deep Breath by Steven Moffat. But was this worth the wait? Well, Phil and Paul flip flop all over the place during their discussion over what appears to be a divisive story with each of them taking turns wearing the grumpy hat. But you will hear such topics as convincing fans of a new Doctor through the companion and past Doctors, dead end plot devices and Pauls experience with Smell-O-Vision at the cinema.

And in the news, rumours fo Jenna Coleman leaving the show at Christmas, Ordnance Survey listing locations of Police Boxes and after all this time it's the return of the dreaded stats!!

Podcast, we take a look back at Matt Smith's time in the Tardis and discuss the impact he had on the show, how he could lift mediocre stories and Paul and Phil each reveal their favourite and least favourite Matt Smith performances. However, it's not just their opinions being aired this episode as we have plenty of listener feedback as well.

And in the news this week, the Symphonic Spectacular returns down under in 2015, a teaser trailer for Deep Breath and because it's the height of summer, Omega's Tat Corner has a festive feel.

Who's He? Podcast #169 Chuckling away, laughing all day

In this weeks episode Phil and Paul tackle The Spectre Of Lanyon Moor from Big Finish, released in 2000. What do they make of this 6th Doctor story of ghostly moors, evil Baronets, archaeology, nasty tea ladies and of course the Brigadier!! But be warned, this review is full of spoilers so for those of you who haven't listened to this particular story, enter at your peril!

And in the news this week, Deep Breath to be shown at the cinema, the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular, Peter Capaldi's interview with the Sunday Times and from the world of cheap merchandise it's news from the San Diego Comic Con and Forbidden Planet in Omega's Tat Corner.

In this weeks show it's part two of the lads commentary for Castrovalva, episodes 3 and 4. Yes, as this was recorded last week, the trio bravely continue in the sweltering London heat, drinking wine and talking nonsense as usual. However, it appears that the heat gets to Phil as he completely misses the point of the Shardovan and becomes attached to a Scotsman.

And in a hastily inserted news section, another series 8 trailer, Philip Morris and the ongoing talk of missing episodes, news on the Deep Breath DVD release in North America, the enormous DVD/Blu-ray 50th Anniversary boxset and the DWAS honour Verity Lambert.

Podcast they've gone beige with an audio commentary for episodes 1 and 2 of Castrovalva. During the dissection of this story, they bravely try to bring you facts of the day of original broadcast and make Tony play the guess the ratings game. The lads are also fuelled with wine which causes Phil to make a rather naughty comment!

And in the news, they catch up all the leaks from the BBC, news of a BFI showing of Deep Breath and in Omega's Tat Corner, action figures that seem to get worse the more they make.

This week, the Who's He? Podcast continue with their audio commentary for Spearhead From Space episodes 3 and 4. They bravely continue with trying to bring you a history of events from the day of the stories original broadcast date, which this week sees Phil make a rather crass comment that reduces him and Paul into a fit of the giggles and Tony just gives up. And somewhere amongst all this, they sporadically talk about the DVD they are watching.

And in the news this week......well, there is no news this week. They couldn't be bothered.

Who's He? Podcast #163 Someday you'll pay the price

On the show this week, it's a return to Target books with a look the novelisation of The Ice Warriors by Brian Hayles. As usual Phil and Phil make comparisions to the televised version of the story and while dissecting the differences, Phil admits to reading some of the book in the style of Wallace and Gromit while Paul just shakes his head in despair (which doesn't really work on audio).

And in a very slow news week, they bring you the news that The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot is getting a DVD release, Doctor Who guided tours recommencing in Cardiff and a discussion about recent articles suggesting that Doctor Who should take a break. But all the while, the memory of Steven Moffats eyes still lingers which leads them to accuse the Moff of sleeping with the BBC.

Who's He? Podcast #162 Not a servant so faithful he found

In this weeks episode, Phil and Paul review the extremely spooky The Chimes Of Midnight from Big Finish. And please beware this week that this episode is jam packed full of spoilers! Yep, Phil couldn't help himself and ruins the plot of this Paul McGann story but gets so carried away, he ruins Christmas and Easter for children everywhere into the bargain. Also along the way Paul helps Phil out with plot and puts forward a plausible theory for a certain plot point!

And in the news this week, Doctor Who comes to Retro TV in the USA, a piece of series 8 casting news that has both Paul and Phil scratching their heads and in Omega's Tat Corner Steven Moffat lures you into buying tat with his come to bed eyes!

This week Phil and Paul kick off another series retrospective with a look at New Earth from series 2 and the beginning of David Tennants first full series. Listen to hear how Phil and Paul now feel about this story and whether this was good or bad series opener. And also gasp in horror as Phil letches after Billie Piper for one episode only and Paul has an identity crisis of his own.

And in the news, some more casting news for series 8 which makes Phil fear for the return of men in extremely short shorts, a David Tennant celebration in the US and Peter Capaldi makes the front cover of the Radio Times.

Who's He? Podcast #159 The mate that fate had me created for

In this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul return once again to the literary world with a review of the Target novelisation of The Image of The Fendahl. Probably one of the last great gothic horror Doctor Who stories produced in the 1970's, the lads compare the novel to the TV incarnation and discuss the merits of Terrance Dicks expanding of characters and also whether some of the more notorious aspects of this story make to the page.

And in another slow news week, 2 more writers are announced for series 8, Doctor Who picks up 2 BAFTA's in ceremony that is held in a pub (or so Phil and Paul like to think) and in Omega's Tat Corner, 2 items of tat, one of which gets Phil excited.

Who's He? Podcast #158 A very old friend came by today

Once again Phil and Paul turn their attentions towards the Doctors adventures in audio with a look at a 7th Doctor story from Big Finish titled The Dark Flame. But is this one any good? Is this a story that will make those who dislike Sylvester McCoys portrayal of the Doctor change their minds or merely serve as another example as to why they dislike him so?

And in a very short news section this week, British Pathe release old Movietone News reels containing very some fairly tenuous links to Doctor Who, the Hugo Award 2014 nominations are revealed in which Doctor Who dominates and as it's a slow news week, the latest news in John Barrowmans attempts at dropping hints that he'd like another series of Torchwood and appear again in Doctor Who.

Who's He? Podcast #157 It's wrong to wish on space hardware

After what feels like an eternity, Phil and Paul finally round off their series 3 retrospective with a look at The Last of The Time Lords. Yes it's the turn of probably the most least regarded series finale in existence that the hosts of this podcast wish they could forget. However, amongst the ire and general bile, they do manage to have some fun along the with actors pulling stupid faces, the Doctors impression of Mr. Burns and at long last they read out an email sent from a listener nearly a year ago.

And in the news this week, Ben Miller joins the cast of series 8, Day of The Doctor is up for a pointless award which brings back childhood horror for Phil and in a massive edition of Omega's Tat Corner there are all sorts of nick-nacks to tickle your fancy which also gives Phil and Paul a great idea for a TV show.

Who's He? Podcast #156 A lead role in a cage?

On this weeks show Phil and Paul return once again to the literary world of Doctor Who with a look at the Target novelisation Doctor Who and The Space War, otherwise known as Frontier in Space. Yes, a story of two mighty empires on the brink of war and how the Doctor and Jo manage to miss all that by testing a number of different prison cells. And also during the course of their discussion, they lament the BBC budget in replacing a mighty lizard with a gentlemens scrotal sack.

And in the news this week, the sad passing of Derek Martinus and Kate O'Mara, casting news for series 8 and in Omega's Tat Corner it's time for some sexist footwear!

Who's He? Podcast #155 You rearrange me till I'm sane

After ending on a cliffhanger last week, find out how Phil, Paul and Tony escaped the evil mechanical clutches of Robot Tony! Oh, there is also the small matter of the 2nd part of their audio commentary for The Brain of Morbius episodes 3 & 4. So cue more Condo jokes, more passing comments on the Baker Bulge and they also muse on an adults only version of the podcast.

The lads decided not to cover any news this week and just crack on with the commentary but there is a little interlude which features a 3rd anniversary message from The Bad Wilf Podcast that arrived too late for last weeks show.

Who's He? Podcast #154 I can see it in your eyes

Put out the bunting, it's the Who's He? Podcasts 3rd anniversary! Yes three years of turning out this rubbish and still no-one caring! And to celebrate we're giving you the first in a two part audio commentary for the Tom Baker classic The Brain of Morbius. But let's hand over to Condo for the rest of this synopsis:

"Condo speak now? Good, Condo like to speak! Condo like Who's He? Podcast, it remind Condo of arm. When will Condo get arm back? Condo like Omega's Tat Corner and Tony. Yes...Condo not hurt Tony. Tony pretty?"

Yes....anyway, in the news week, some more casting news and set photos for for series 8, we wish Olaf Pooley a happy 100th birthday and in Omega's Tat Corner some stylish footwear!

Who's He? Podcast #153 Yeah, revolution for fun

This week Paul & Phil return to series 3 to look at The Sound of Drums in what is probably the longest series review ever. Yes, they look back at the Master's plan to take over the world (again) and take a look at John Simm's portryal of the character. Was or is it as bad people think? Is this story as bad as Phil & Paul remember? Listen to find out whether either of them have softened their opinion of this very divisive story.

And in the news this week, BBC3 that stalwart of Doctor Who repeats is to close down, another writer for series 8 is announced which probably doesn't get the reaction the BBC was hoping for and in Omega's Tat Corner it's time for some more quality mintage!!

Who's He? Podcast #152 You took the part that once was my heart

In this episode Phil & Paul return once again to the world of Big Finish with a look at the 2002 story Spare Parts starring Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton. This story is widely regarded as a classic of the Big Finish range so it was with much trepidation that they recorded this review. Will they agree on its classic status or is it a fuss over nothing and the hype machine has worked overtime? Listen to find out but beware, this review is full of spoilers!

And in the news this week, casting news for series 8, a cancellation of a Doctor Who tour down under, DVD news and Phil and Paul give their opinion on the missing episodes spat between Ian Levine and himself. And in a short, sharp trip to Omega's Tat Corner there is future tat!! Well, maybe.

Who's He? Podcast #151 You'd better scatter and run

In this weeks episode Phil and Paul return to the written word with a look at the Target novelisation of The Time Meddler. So prepare for Viking hordes, mysterious Monks, Lord Flashheart and the Doctors quest to become and alcoholic. Amongst all this though they make comparisions to the televised version and find that the author manages to shock Phil!

And in the news this week the sad passing of legendary Doctor Who director Christopher Barry, a pointless poll, some news of Philip Hinchcliffe's contribution to Big Finish and in Omega's Tat Corner some quality mintage and some not so quality action figures.

Who's He? Podcast #150 So sick of complacence now

It's audio commentary time yet again and this week it's part 2 of our commentary for The Krotons, the fondly remembered fan favourite (I mean the story, not part 1 of this commentary. That was last week by the way.) that nobody really remembers very fondly. So this week they continue with episodes 3 and 4 and struggle manfully with walking cheese graters with Brummie accents and a man dressed as a tortoise. No that wasn't one of Tony's "facts", that it is what they are watching. So tune in to listen to 3 grown men sitting in silence for long periods of time and only coming alive when something exciting happens or when they get a sniff of beer.

And there's no news this week as they couldn't be bothered. No not really, not a lot happened to be honest.

Who's He? Podcast #149 It's only teenage wasteland

It's that time of the month when the Who's He? Podcast look to providing you all with an audio commentary and for your delectation, they have selected The Krotons! So thrill as Phil, Paul and a returning Tony sit down and suffer episodes 1 and 2 of this fondly remembered fan favourite (was the sarcasm filter working there?). During this episode they ponder the existence of Brummie sounding South Africans, glam rock gods and whether or not you can still buy Cadbury's Smash.

And in the news this week, Doctor Who scoops a few awards, Phil gets disappointed at The Web of Fear DVD, an update on Christmas Log the lonely K9 knockoff and in Omega's Tat Corner the new 12th Doctor action figure is discussed and compared to an obscure 1970's pop star and a night light that is billed as some kind of personal attack button.

Who's He? Podcast 148 I forget who I am

After what seems like an eternity, Phil and Paul return their retrospective of series 3 with a look back at Utopia. With what is widely regarded as one the best episodes of Doctor Who since it's revival in 2005, does it still excite or has time not been kind to this story of The Masters resurrection? While Paul is still under the weather and Phil at one point comes over all James Lipton (I just read that back. Eurgh!), the lads certainly have a lot to talk about!

And in the news this week, the sad passing of Roger Lloyd-Pack, the end of online role playing game Doctor Who: Worlds in Time, more on set spoiler photos of series 8 and in Omega's Tat Corner it's everything you need for tea.

Who's He? Podcast #147 Who congregate around Trafalgar Square

In this weeks show, Phil and Paul return to the world of Big Finish with a look at the Tom Baker story Energy of The Daleks. After weeks of both of them stating that they had never got round to listening to any of Tom Bakers audio stories, now that they've finally listened to one, what do they think? Well, during the course of their discussion subjects such as actors getting their groove back and Dimensions in Time are raised in an attempt to drag out the review of a very short story!

And in the news this week, the final viewing figures for The Time of The Doctor are revealed, series 8 begins filming, Steven Moffat's vision for the 12th Doctor and in Omega's Tat Corner it's a sale. A MEGA SALE!!

Who's He? Podcast #146 Don't bother asking for explanations

For their first podcast of 2014, Phil and Paul decided that it was high time that they did another Target book review. So what did they pick? The Twin Dilemma that's what!! In a vain attempt to discover whether Eric Sawards novelisation improves on what is probably the most least regarded Doctor Who serial, they discover abandonment of the original plot, pointless back stories for characters and things, depression all round and a mystic cat.

And in the news this week, Gareth Roberts will be on writing duties for series 8 which gives Phil flashbacks to the horror that is Craig Owens, a couple of Australian centric items and a quick peek into Omega's Tat Corner with the latest in t-shirt news!

Who's He? Podcast #145 And I'm a man of great experience

This is it, the big one! In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast we say farewell to Matt Smith and finally say hello to Peter Capaldi in our review of The Time of The Doctor. While everyone should just be congratulating Matt Smith on a job well done, fandom seems set to implode yet again in what is currently a very divisive episode. So what is Phil and Paul's take on matters? Will Phil revert to type and declare this the worst episode EVAH!? Will Paul take a more lenient approach? Tune in to find out what they think but rest assured that Phil (and to a certain extent Paul) get in a few barbed comments about fandoms course for self destruction.

And in the news this week....STATS!! Oh, and a farewell message from Matt Smith.

We also want to wish all our listeners a very Happy New Year!!

Who's He? Podcast #144 The captain stands alone

It's the Who's He? Podcast Christmas special and as usual they take a look at a Doctor Who Christmas special from years gone by and this time it's the turn of Voyage of The Damned, the Kylie Minogue vanity project. So get in a festive mood as Phil and Paul review this story in a subjective and respectful manner and extol the virtues of this Christmas classic for the ages. Oh and the word awful is used. A lot. One hell of a lot as a matter of fact!

And in the news this week The Time of Doctor has it's DVD & blu-ray release announced, The Moonbase DVD reveals it's special features, director news for series 8 and in a sad tale for festive season, Christmas Log the lonely K9 knock-off is abandoned in Plymouth. All togther now, "aahhhhh".

And lastly, a Merry Christmas to all our listeners!!

Who's He? Podcast #134 Just as every cop is a criminal

After an extremely long period, it's audio commentary time! This go around, Phil, Paul and a returning Tony tackle The Daemons, episodes 1 & 2 in the first of a two part commentary. And even after such a long time between commentaries, the three of them have learnt nothing. It's still shambolic and they barely pay any attention to what they are watching as Tony unleashes his "facts" on Matthew Corbett and his contribution to the set design of The Daemons and thrill as they watch a U.N.I.T member phone a chat line.

And in a very slapdash news section this week, they cast their eyes over the 50th Anniversary trailer shown on Saturday night, Moffat's teasing over the amount of regenerations, what really happened with that casting rumour on Ben Daniels, some 50th Anniversary cocktails and in Omega's Tat Corner there is one helluva lot of mintage.

Who's He? Podcast #133 I'll be your prisoner

In this weeks show Paul and Phil have browsed the book shelves and stumbled across the Target novelisation of An Unearthly Child to review. Is this book up their with Terrance Dicks better novelisations or is it just a bland translation of the TV serial? Along the way, they discover that fate decided just how this book would turn out.

However, all of this pales into insignificance as the big news this week is that 9, count them, 9 episodes of previously missing Doctor Who stories from the Troughton era have been returned to the BBC and were released to the excited public. So tune in to hear Phil and Paul throw pessimism to the wind and hear them embrace optimism and celebrate this wonderful news. And also, Neve McIntosh wants to sex up Doctor Who. Ooer missus!!

In this weeks show Phil & Paul continue with their series 3 retrospective with their take on Family of Blood. To be honest, expect more of the same as last week as this is real love in as the pair of them sing the praises of this story and everyone involved and tip their hats to possibly the greatest two part story since the show came back in 2005. And Phil gets to use the word "beastly".

And in the news this week, the exciting announcement of extra tickets for this Novembers official convention and also the accouncement of the premier of An Adventure In Space And Time at the BFI which leads Phil & Paul to show their utter contempt for their listeners. But in Omega's Tat Corner a piece of tat that is so unwarranted, unofficial and downright shameful gets chucked into the muckiest of Omega's corners.

Who's He? Podcast #129 Watching how the other half lives

In this weeks episode Paul and Phil delve back into series 3 with a look at Human Nature, quite possibly one the best 45 minutes of Doctor Who committed to the small screen. Yep, high praise indeed as the pair of them agree on a lot of things this week which causes them both to wax lyrical about this story and Phil gets ideas above his station and starts talking about lighting and camera angles. Yes, Phil is in over his head!!

And in the news, it's mainly DVD stuff to talk about but in Omega's Tat Corner, there's an item of tat that gets Phil on his soap box again!!

And if you want to vote for Doctor Who in the National TV Awards, please find the link below:

http://www.nationaltvawards.com

Who's He? Podcast #128 In our little hideaway beneath the waves

In this heavily edited edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil & Paul turn their attentions to the Target novelisation of Warriors of The Deep, that well known (for all the wrong reasons) 5th Doctor underwater adventure. Does this book address the TV versions shortcomings or does the green paint from the Myrka reach the written page? Tune in to find out!

And in the news this week, the BBC finally reveal their 50th Anniversary TV & radio scheduling to celebrate the show, the panels for the next 2 BFI events are also revealed which causes Phil and Paul to rub your noses in their good fortune and in Omega's Tat Corner, a piece of tat which makes the pair of them realise they are the darlings of every retirement home.

Once again Phil and Paul return to the ongoing Destiny of The Doctor audio series with a look at the 9th Doctor story Night of The Whisper. During the course of their discussion, Phil manages to offend the people of Manchester and also lose his marbles all at the same time! It's definitely one to.....oh you know what I mean, erm....listen to! Yes that's it.

And in the news this week, Matt Smith begins recording his final story, the original script for The Tenth Planet has been found and in Omega's Tat Corner....coaster news!!

Who's He? Podcast #125 I feel that ice is slowly melting

In this episode Phil & Paul return to the world of Big Finish with a look at the 5th Doctor and Peri story Red Dawn. What do they think of this 13 year old story that was not widely regarded by certain quarters of fandom? You may be surprised at their reaction but it makes Phil find time to make comparisions with Prometheus and gets bogged down in continuity while Paul just shakes his head.

And in the news this week (which we should really call the "olds") they catch up on news items they have missed out on the last couple of weeks such as Christopher Ecclestones message for the 9th Doctor BFI event, some DVD news and a bumper edition of Omega's Tat Corner!!

This week the lads take a trip back in time and crack on once again with their series 3 retrospective with a review of 42. I am sorry to say however that Phil makes a true return to form in this episode as he does not like this one little bit. So expect calm level headed discussion from Paul and hot headed, angry words that make no sense from Phil.

And in the news this week, the guests are announced for the BFI Doctor Who 50 showing of Bad Wolf and The Parting of The Ways, Doctor Who is nominated in a Radio Times poll for the nations most loved drama and two items of TARDIS news!

Who's He? Podcast #121 Fit a bolt to your bow and away we go

This week, Paul and Phil take a devisive look at the latest in the Destiny Of The Doctor range in the form of an 8th Doctor story entitled Enemy Aliens. Yes a story of alien invasion of two kinds leaves the pair of them approaching this story from different directions but which of them liked it and which of them didn't? It might not be who you think!

And in the news this week, it's still Capaldi mania as fandom comes to terms with his casting as the 12th Doctor, audience figures on the TV spectacular to his announce his casting and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat that doesn't even exist yet!

Oh and Paul? The world has been put out of it's misery and we finally know that the great Peter Capaldi has been cast as Matt Smiths successor in the TARDIS. And of course Phil & Paul share their views on this casting news and also the manner in which it was done. Zoe Ball? Really??

And of course there is the usual reviewing nonsense with a look at the Target novelisation of the 2nd Doctor story, The Seeds of Death. Though by their own admission, it's all inconsequential given the news this week!

Who's He? Podcast #119 Need a change a positive change

In this weeks episode, Paul and Phil turn their attentions back to their series 3 retrospective with a look at The Lazarus Experiment. This episode may surprise some of you as the pair of them realise though certain stories are not without their faults, sometimes time can be kind and maybe this is one such story? Don't believe me? Listen to the episode to find out!

And in the news this week, the controversy of the 50th trailer aired at San Diego Comic Con, more controversry over the series 7 release schedule, the possibility the Paul McGann may have filmed something for the 50th and in Omega's Tat Corner, Paul creates controversy by saying the name Cliff Richard and the word 'rim' in the same sentence.

This week Phil and Paul return to the Destiny of The Doctor audio series with a review of the seventh Doctor story Shockwave. In fact this has to be one of their shortest reviews they've ever done! This usually means one of two things - they both hated it or they both loved it!

But what takes up all their time this week? Two weeks worth of news and a chat about the Doctor Who Prom they went to last week that's what! DVD blu-ray boxsets, BBC financial reports and comments made about the 50th Anniversary Special the Moff himself. But not only that, there is a bumper edition of Omega's Tat Corner featuring cake and potato based tat!

Who's He? Podcast #115 These aren't the kind of people he can change

This week the lads bring you their first audio commentary in 5 months and it's for Ghost Light! This of course means the return of Tony to the podcasting gang, who brings his usual blend of facts, bewielderment and ignorance. What I am trying to say is that he hasn't changed a bit!! However, after a 5 month break from providing an audio commentary, Phil, Paul and Tony realise they may have made a mistake in selecting this story and begin to struggle heroically with it, while Tony uses the opportunity to ask the listeners questions simply because he can't be bothered to look up the answers himself. And during the course of the commentary, it slowly dawns on Phil that he doesn't really like Ghost Light. Heretic!!

And in the news this week, the tickets for the 50th Anniversary Convention finally go on sale, the BBC shelves any further plans for 3D projects after the 50th anniversary and in strange news of the week it is revealed that Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby were considered for the role of the Doctor in a 1980's proposed Hollywoodisation of the show. Shamone!!

Who's He? Podcast #114 What they need's a damn good whacking

This week, Phil and Paul cast their eye over Evolution of The Daleks in their ongoing retrospective of series 3 and it's business as usual! Pointless Pigmen, bad American accents and probably the most convoluted and stupid plot to take over the universe the Daleks ever came up with!! Perhaps now you'll realise just how much Phil and Paul suffer to keep you entertained!

And in the news this week, the director for the Christmas special is revealed, some exciting Big Finish and Philip Hinchcliffe news and in Omega's Tat Corner a rather expensive way to change the channel on your TV.

Philip Hinchcliffe Lecture:
http://www.thespace.uk.com/22nd%20August%20Event.html

Who's He? Podcast #113 Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are

After what seems like a lifetime, Phil and Paul finally return to their series 3 retrospective with Daleks In Manhattan. Has time been kind to this story or is it still the big mess that they remembered? Rest assured, both Paul and Phil give a reasoned critique but during the course of their dissection, Phil puts on a showgirl voice, Paul manages to insult Wales and quickly backtracks and the whole conversation degenerates into hardcore pornography.

And in the news this week, the saga of the recovered (or not recovered) missing episodes is discussed, Roath Lock will get Royal patronage, Matt Smiths thank you to cast, crew and fans and last and by no means least, Omega's Tat Corner makes it's triumphant return wherein you will hear the phrase "ring hanger".

Who's He? Podcast #111 Sent me off to a foreign land

In this weeks episode, the attentions of Paul and Phil are once again focused on the AudioGo Destiny of The Doctor series with a look at the sixth Doctor story Trouble in Paradise. What will they make of this story of Christopher Columbus and talking bullocks and will Phil ever recover from his little moment alone thinking about Peri? But also during the course of this discussion, a history lesson on Christopher Columbus is given and a Peri impression is offered.

Also this week, they talk about their sojourn to the BFI to see The Two Doctors as part of the Doctor Who at 50 celebrations and how disappointed Eric Saward looked to be there.

But in the news, they discuss all the 12th Doctor rumours they missed on last weeks episode and call a 12th Doctor casting rumours amnesty on the podcast, rumours of recovered missing episodes to be released for the 50th, Big Finish's license for Doctor Who has been extended to 2016 and news of a TARDIS being put into Earths orbit (yes you did read that correctly!).

Who's He? Podcast #110 And the big wheel keep on turning

This week, Paul and Phil review the 5th Doctor story from the AudioGo Destiny Of The Doctor series entitled Smoke and Mirrors. In a tale featuring Houdini and the Master, all Phil can think about is how disappointed he was in Adric not receiving a terrible mauling at the claws of a big cat. However despite this, Phil & Paul have a fairly good time listening to this story read by Janet Fielding.

And in a longer than usual news section this week, the main topic of conversation is of course about Matt Smith leaving the series after the Christmas special, the ridiculous rumours of who will be the 12th Doctor and the Who's He? Podcast gets political by looking at an official YouGov poll on Doctor Who which makes for terrifying reading.

Who's He? Podcast #108 Only the echoes of my mind

Now that the current series of Doctor Who has finished, Phil and Paul return to the Audio Go celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who with a look at the April release of Babblesphere, the 4th Doctors outing in the Desting of The Doctor range. After Phil being disappointed with the 3rd Doctors story, this time round it's Paul's turn to show disappointment in this thinly veiled satire on social media. However, Phil does manage to get in his impression of Lady Bracknell, so a little bit of culture is injected into proceedings. Ok, that's stretching things, I'll admit!!

And in the news this week, more viewing figure stats, Doctor Who wins an award, Phil spits in the face of the Daily Mail and a small piece of DVD news concerning the Ice Warriors.

All together now, "A HANDBAG?!?".

Who's He? Podcast #107 Beneath the strains of time

This is it, the series finale of series 7b of Doctor Who, The Name of The Doctor and Phil & Paul aren't completely in agreement! Paul struggles to find the story in this episode whilst Phil just likes it for what it is. But one this is for sure though, they both agree that seeing past Doctors was marvelous and as for John Hurt? Listen to find out!

And in the news this week, Steven Moffat thanks the fans for keeping their gobs shut after BBC America released the series 7b blu-ray boxset a week early, series 8 has been confrmed by the BBC, the sad passing of Doctor Who actors and crew during the week and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat has been released that absolutely no-one was crying out for!!

Who's He? Podcast #106 A show with everything but Yul Brynner

The lads get their teeth into Neil Gaimans highly anticipated story, Nightmare In Silver, that promised to make the Cybermen scary again. Well, that is certainly a bold claim and not one that goes unchallenged! Oh no, Phil and Paul have differing views on this weeks episode which leads to Phil having an internal struggle before the leprechaun on his shoulder tells him to burn stuff, while Paul does his best to change Phil's mind only to fail miserably. Phil also takes a moment this week to think of Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine. A very long moment in fact. There is also a lot of talk about fanwank that could lead to blindness and they also briefly talk about She Said, He Said, the epilogue (yes, epilogue!) to The Name of The Doctor.

And in this weeks news, in the absence of any overnight viewing figures for Nightmare In Silver they make some up instead, news on showings for the blu-ray editions of the Peter Cushing Dalek films and in 50th Anniversary news, a photo of Matt Smith that has set tongues wagging and John Hurt lets the cat out of the bag which Phil and Paul talk about. Sort of.

Who's He? Podcast #105 The rusted chains of prison moons

This week the lads turn their attention to the Mark Gatiss story The Crimson Horror, the latest in this series of Doctor Who. What will they make of this Victorian romp in deepest, darkest Yorkshire with corpses in the canal and the return of the Paternoster Gang? One thing is for sure though, Paul is Mister Grumpy this week which makes a nice change from Phil!

And in the news this week, a brief summing up of the Who's He? Podcast's trip to the BFI to see The Caves of Androzani, the UK's Doctor Who DVD roster for the remainder of the year, the return of Omega's Tat Corner and a chance for Phil to let rip on those who think fans are being short changed with their percieved lack of Doctor Who content for the 50th Anniversary.

Who's He? Podcast #104 Trying to make some sense of it all

This week the lads turn their attention to the eagerly anticipated story Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS. After the last two weeks of enjoyment for Phil and Paul, I'm afraid to say this week is a bit of a let down. No, they are not best pleased with this trip inside Sexy and at times get quite animated at this fun but rather disappointing story. But what did please them and what did annoy them? Listen and find out to this episode that will most probably ostracise them from fandom!!

And in the news week, some DVD news including one DVD that nearly made it's way into Omega's Tat Corner, the next in the Destiny Of the Doctor range from AudioGo and of course the return of Omega's Tat Corner with a book that will delight Doctor Who geeks everywhere.

To donate to Ben Beevers London-Surrey 100 charity cycle ride in memory of his Mother Caroline John follow the link below:

https://www.justgiving.com/CarolineBeevers-John/

To donate via text message:

Text MUMM71 (followed by the amount you want to donate) to 70070

Who's He? Podcast #103 Hearing them, seeing them

This week Paul & Phil continue with their look at this series of Doctor Who by discussing the creepy and spooky Hide written by Neil Cross whilst cowering behind their cushions. Was this an improvement on his previous script or was it a bit of a clunker? Will the lads give another unanimous thumbs up to an episode of Doctor Who two weeks on the bounce or will they revert to type and give it the thumbs down? Also listen to Paul & Phil travel back to the 1960's where a man could "provide" for a lady whilst wearing his finest tweed.

And in the news this week, they catch up on viewing stats (the most popular part of the show), DVD news on The Ice Warriors and a brief discussion on the release of the posters for the upcoming episodes of this series, including the title of the last episode which has made fandom explode. Again.

This week, Paul & Phil review the latest in the Destiny of The Doctor audio stories, Vengeance Of The Stones featuring the 3rd Doctor. Does this story follow up on the brilliance of Shadow of Death or does it cause Phil and Paul to disagree for the first time in ages? Listen to find out but be warned: Scottish stereotypes are discussed and the word "stones" is used with wanton abandon!

And in the news this week, the air time and a prologue (I refuse to call it a prequel!) for The Bells of Saint John is revealed to waiting fans, filming for the 50th Anniversary special has been pushed back, the tabloids start their typical rumours that Matt Smith is leaving, Peter Jackson will direct an episode of Doctor Who if Steven Moffat gives him a Dalek and in Omega's Tat Corner they return to a piece of tat that they discussed a few episodes back. Blimey, that could've been explained better. Why didn't I put "previously on Omega's Tat Corner" instead? Really need to get a proof reader for this rubbish.

This week Phil and Paul continue with their retrospective of series 3 with a look back at Gridlock. What will they make of this story after all this time and do they think it's a rollicking good adventure or a big disappointment? In making their minds up, they get into a bit of a disagreement over Martha Jones character and Paul spoils an otherwise lighthearted piece of banter concerning corpse disposal.

And in the news this week, there is plenty of update on the Mark Gatiss drama An Adventure in Space and Time, news of series 8 straight from the mouth of Steven Moffatt and in Omega's Tat Corner, Paul's lonely existence is called into question with his methods of seduction.

This week Paul and Phil turn their attention towards The Stolen Earth, the penultimate story of Series 4. This is a story that divides fans but will it also divide Phil and Paul? Will they argue over minor details again or will they just be glad to get it over and done with?

And in this weeks news, Series 7 episode titles that were announced at last weeks San Diego Comic Con, the future of the BBC Television Centre has been decided and how Phil likes to spend his evenings in this weeks Omega's Tat Corner.

In this episode, Phil and Paul (the Statler and Waldorf of podcasting) cast their collective eye over Turn Left in their continuing quest through Series 4. While they both admit that they enjoyed this story when it first aired, will they still think the same now? You will have to listen to find out but I can say this: they have "a bit of a moment" discussing the Bad Wolf ending while Phil gets confused and plugs another podcast.

Meanwhile, in the the news this week, Colin Baker expands on his comments regarding the 50th Anniversary, the 2nd part of The Power of The Daleks fan film is released, plus the immediate return of Omega's Tat Corner.

Who's He? Podcast #069 We're gonna cause talk and suspicion

This week Phil and Paul return to series 4 with a look at the well regarded story, Midnight. As they both like this episode, they do find it hard going to talk about! It's a small story so their opinions seem to match this week but it doesn't stop the pair of them getting into a disagreement about stubborn academics.

Also, in the news this week a small item about recent casting for series 7, The Ambassadors of Death DVD update and a new feature of the Who's He?
It's audio commentary time and this month it's the turn of Paul McGann in Doctor Who: The Movie. However, Tony was late to the recording as he hadn't had his dinner (and you don't want to be in the same room as Tony when he's hungry) so Paul and Phil cracked on with the news without him, which took all of 5 minutes as it was a very slow week for news.

Eventually Tony turned up and they got on with the task in hand. In this episode you will find Smurfs, little known facts about Paul McGann, Popeye The Salior Man and the hazards of transporting free range chickens.

This week, Phil and Paul cast their eye over The Forest of The Dead, the conclusion to River Song's opening story in Series 4 of Doctor Who. It's another enjoyable story for the reviewing pair but it's not long before they air their gripes about where it went wrong. During the course of their conversation this week, they go wildly off topic and start discussing Steven Moffats overall contribution to Doctor Who and whether his writing was better before he became show runner.

However, all of this is tempered by the news that we have lost another Doctor Who actor in the form of Caroline John and the lads take the opportunity to celebrate her character, Liz Shaw.

After a couple of poor stories (in their eyes anyway!), Phil and Paul ger their teeth into Silence In The Library in their ongoing retrospective of Series 4. This was a story they were both keen to revisit so this is a story they still like? Will they start to pick holes in it like they normally do or will they just like an episode for once in their lives?

And in this week news, another publicity photograph of Matt Smith and Jenn-Louise Coleman is released by the BBC, Jean Marsh gets an OBE and some DVD news. Now stay out of the shadows!

This week Phil and Paul take a look back at the Agatha Christie murder mystery romp The Unicorn And The Wasp. This is an episode that neither Paul nor Phil were particuarly interested in watching again even though fandom would tell them this is a good story. Has time changed their minds? Will the comedic aspects of the script cheer them up or will they remain their usual miserable selves? (Well, Phil is the miserable one really).

Meanwhile, in the news this week, there was a gathering of five Doctors, an official photo was released of the Doctor and his new companion, Bill Nighy reveals that he didn't want the role of the Doctor and a fan poll reveals their favourite Doctor Who monster EVER!!

In this weeks episode, the reviewing partnership of Phil & Paul take a look back at the....ahem...well regarded series 4 story The Doctors Daughter. Ok, I can't keep up the pretence any longer, it's probably one of the least well regarded stories in this series and Paul & Phil do little to change anyones opinion. But they go through the motions and try as they might, they can't be help but be nothing but critical of this story, so don't expect many laughs this week!! However, after much analysis, they reach the conclusion that the only thing that could have saved this story is....WILLIAM SHATNER!!

And in this weeks news, the first group of guests has been announced for Gallifrey 2013, series 7 production news and air date rumours and in what has become a regular feature, Phil & Paul promise to listen to some Big Finish audios!!

Who's He? Podcast #063 I was born as a pantomime horse

Dim the lights, close all the windows and dust down your DVD players as it's audio commentary time! This month, Paul, Tony and Phil are tackling the behemoth that is Warriors Of The Deep. They've tried this one before and failed miserably, so they've deployed all sorts of lucky tokens about their persons to make sure this one goes off without a hitch. Even then it was still touch and go.

Also, in this weeks news, Steven Moffat want to keep the Doctors new companion a complete secret, a little bit of DVD news and the lads get angry at certain 'fans' reactions to the airing this week of the Blue Peter Script to Screen winners story, Good As Gold. Now stop laughing at the Myrka, you know how fragile he is!

Who's He? Podcast #062 Take me, we'll vanish without a trace

Phil & Paul continue their retrospective of Series 4 and this week they have a crack at The Poison Sky, the final story of the Sontaran two parter. This time they lament the lack of the Brigadier, Phil attempts to be clever with his limited knowledge of physics and Paul is astounded at a sonic screwdriver not being very sonic.

And in this weeks news, Doctor Who says goodbye to Upper Boat Studios (this should have been last weeks news but they forgot), the Doctor Who Experience gets an opening date in Cardiff and a release date for Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. All this plus Phil tries to pronounce Pobol Y Cwm and fails abysmally while Paul laughs.

Who's He? Podcast #061 They got little cars

In this weeks episode, Phil and Paul continue with their Series 4 retrospective with a look back at The Sontaran Stratagem. The both try really hard this week to be positive and the most part they succeed. However, with a snivelling wretch of a boy genius, the Doctors new found dislike for U.N.I.T., it doesn't take them long to start getting a little picky.

But in this weeks news, the announcement that episode 1 of series 7 will be premiered in August and Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have completed their final scenes, give the two of them plenty to discuss and go off topic about. Please be warned during the course of this weeks episode, the words "twunt" and "bukakke" are used with wanton abandon.

Katy Mannings Fundraising Page

Who's He? Podcast #060 Red is the colour of my hell

Paul is back from his holidays feeling refreshed and gets straight back into the swing of things and joins Phil to look at The Planet Of The Ood. Phil finds this one a bit of a slog to review but livens things up for himself by doing a Sid James impression, while Paul concentrates on the plot and the the social messages that this episode was trying to convey.

Also, as a special treat, Tony joins Phil and Paul for the news section which was recorded in the pub while celebrating Pauls birthday. However, Tony being Tony, he gets easily distracted and goes hunting for alien lifeforms in a bowl of wasabi peanuts and Phil gets in another impression, this time the Kinder egg advert from the 1980's. Me scrooble now!

Who's He? Podcast #059 Don't let your lava love turn to stone

Whilst Paul is on his holidays, Phil enlists the help of new friend to the show Stephen Prescott from the rather excellent Mad Man With A Box Podcast to discuss The Fires of Pompeii. During the discussion, Stephen educates Phil on Latin textbooks and they both go wildly off tangent and delve into the merits of RTD versus The Moff and whether longstanding fans requests for classic monsters such as Ice Warriors and Zygons to return to the show would be a good thing.

Also in a very short news section, John Barrowman wants Captain Jack to return to Doctor Who and an actress who appeared in Doctor Who over 50 years ago reaches the grand age of 100.
Once again the reviewing duo of Phil and Paul embark on another retrospective and this time they turn their attentions to series 4 and Partners In Crime. What do they make it after all this time? Is it a great series opener or do they think it's a stinker of an episode? Well you might be surprised when you listen to this!!

Also, in this weeks news, a Big Finish sale, Steven Moffats opinons on the Doctors travelling arrangements and Phil and Paul get wistful when talking about the BBC Television Centre. Who's He? Podcast #057 Now you talk about your childhood wishes

It's that time of the month again when the Who's He? team turn their attentions towards another audio commentary and this month it's Day Of The Daleks. Once again Phil and Paul are joined by Tony for his monthly turn behind the microphone and as usual he lets loose with his little known "facts" on what really went on with the actors and behind the scenes stories that made up the production of this classic Doctor Who story. However, Tony took it upon himself to go through puberty again during the recording of this episode, which Phil and Paul constantly remind him of. Also during the course of the recording, Phil gets misty eyed at the sight of a young Katy Manning and they also introduce what has to be the shortest news section in the history of this podcast.

Who's He? Podcast #056 Landed on the top of his dome

This is it folks, the end of our 2009 specials retrospective with a look back at The End Of Time Part 2. And this week, Phil & Paul are joined by the excellent Martyn Havell from the Badwilf Podcast. They remain upbeat thoughout this episode and talk about all the good things that this story....I'm sorry, that's a lie, they didn't like it then and they don't like it now. No surprises there then! Well, they do find a couple of nice things to say which usually involves Bernard Cribbins.

And in a very slow news week, Phil manages to drive away every listener the podcast has, Paul delivers the truth on what the Doctors voting habits are and how is he half the racist that Postman Pat is. Yes, it's a shocking tabloid style expose that doesn't include the words 'romp' or 'sordid'.

Who's He? Podcast #055 Would you stick around for more?

After the highs of last weeks official convention, we hit the lows with The End Of Time Part 1 in the continuation of the 2009 Specials retrospective. Unfortunately this episode contains nothing but Paul and Phil voicing their disappointment and frustration at this very woeful episode of Doctor Who but do find the time to extol the virtues of having Bernard Cribbins to liven things up. They also go off topic and discuss how the Master has been portrayed over the years.

And in this weeks news, more series 7 production snippets, the bad smell that is David Yates and the Doctor Who movie and Daleks. Lots of Daleks. All this plus Paul takes over the show as Phil has been moonlighting rather a lot.

Who's He? Podcast #054 So satisfied I'm on my way

Live from Cardiff, it's the Who's He? Podcast's coverage of the official Doctor Who Convention!! Well, ok, it's not live but in Cardiff they were and Phil & Paul attempt to give you a flavour of what it was like to be at the BBC's first stab at a convention since the 1980's. Was it any good? Did they have a good time? Was it worth the £99 ticket price? All these questions are answered in this weeks episode but not only that, Phil & Paul both realise a childhood dream.

And there's also this weeks important news of the announcement of the Doctors new companion, when we can say goodbye to Rory and Amy and some old foes of the Doctor make a return in Series 7.

They talk about what they are expecting from next weekends shindig, what they are looking forward to the most and also let slip their evil nefarious plans to rip off the general public and seperate them from their cash, to also con money out the stars and crew of Doctor Who and also asking where they can find a stuffed porpoise.

Oh and Phil tries to explain this weeks Series 7 production news without giving away spoilers in the most arduous and long winded way possible.

Who's He? Podcast #052 Going over to Susan's house

It's the Who's He? Podcast's first birthday!! And what better way to celebrate than having Phil, Paul and Tony doing an audio commentary on the very first Doctor Who serial An Unearthly Child. However, Phil let's the occasion get the better of him to begin with and messes up the news which this week includes a Doctor Who concert, more series 7 production news and the sad news of another actor connected to Doctor Who passing away.

And after a slow start with the commentary, they into their stride and Tony gives some inside information on William Hartnell's on set demands (which could be complete lies) and all three of them do caveman impressions.

Who's He? Podcast #051 Making love with his ego

This week Phil and Paul travel back in time and give their opinions on the next 2009 Special, The Waters Of Mars. Do they think that it still stands up as the classic that it is purported to be or is it another clunker following on from the Planet Of The Dead? All I will say is that for once, they both agree!!

Also, the news this week sheds light on how the production of series 7 is coming along, the casting rumour mill and the sad news of the passing of another Who actor.

The reviewing duo of Phil and Paul press on with the next phase of their retrospective with a look at the first of the 2009 Specials, Planet Of The Dead. This is a most divisive podcast and Paul rather enjoys it and Phil detests it but all this makes Phil wax lyrical about the rich tapestry of the human race but veers dangerously close to one those awful episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation where Data explores what it's like to be human.

And in the news this week, series 7 casting news, the end of the Adventure Games and Doctor Who tat.

The boys really suffer during this one, finding not much to be happy about but manage to keep their sanity by comparing the story's characters to long forgotten 80's pop groups, Rainbow and reminsicing about chocolate bars from yesteryear.

And in the news this week, more guests confirmed for the Doctor Who Convention in March, series 7 production news and fan slash fiction has become legit.
Tis the season to be jolly!! Well, not really to be honest but there is a lot of snow on the ground, so it's a good time for Paul and Phil to have a look back at A Christmas Carol, the 2010 Christmas special. Fortunately after over a year, they both still really enjoy this festive offering and Phil tries to make connections to M.R. James Christmas ghost stories and The Eagle comic while Paul insists that they try their hardest not to pick holes in the story.

Meanwhile, in the news, writers and directors are confirmed for series 7, guest news for the Doctor Who convention, some Doctor Who tat and Phil plugs other podcasts.

After starting this months ago, Phil and Paul finally reach the end of their journey with a look at The Big Bang, the finale of series 5. Paul and Phil can't help themselves and start to pick holes in the plot and characters but don't worry folks, they really do love this episode and both agree that this is probably the best series finale ever. Or EVAH as the youth of today like to spell it.

And in this weeks news, Doctor Who tat and a fake Matt Smith proposes to his girlfriend. Will they still enjoy this barnstorming episode or has time taken its toll on these two jaded podcasters?

Also, in this weeks news, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan triumph at the National Television Awards, toy and DVD news and the latest update to the official Doctor Who Convention that has got Phil and Paul (and a few others besides) a little perplexed.
It's audio commentary time again! This week the lads bring you the second part of their commentary for The Invasion parts 5 to 8. This time they run out of steam as Tony was all facted out and Phil resorts to making sexist comments about women of the sixties (and tries to justify it) whilst Paul keeps a dignified silence. Tony also does something that makes Phil swear which results in the use of a "beep", the first in the history of this podcast.

During this audio romp through this classic Patrick Troughton story, the lads discuss such weighty topics as Tobias Vaughn's unhealthy obsession with watching his henchmen on the toilet, Sparky The Magic Piano, action figures of the Queen and Tony's disappointment at animated skirts blowing in the wind.

All this plus Doctor Who news from the last week where we also discover Tony's seedy private life.

However, not all went according to plan as they were beset by technical problems, which made each other think their connection had dropped which lead to a bit of confusion. But once things got back on track, they rattled through but couldn't help but keep making comparisions to Closing Time (well, Phil did anyway) and why discovering Matt Smiths comedic talents in this story was a slippery slope for the programme makers.

The Who's He? Podcast Awards 2011

In a change from the usual programme, the Who's He? team bring you the Who's He? Podcast awards 2011, celebrating the best and worst that Doctor Who and Torchwood had to offer over the last year in a star studded show from the Norwich Theatre Royal (though this may be a lie). The lads apologise in advance for the tongue in cheek approach but unfortunately there are no refunds as they need the money to get out of the country.

Thanks to: Josef Kenny for the Doctor Who theme remix.

Who's He? Podcast #042 Voices singing lets be jolly

Stuffed full of turkey and Christmas cheer (that means booze), Phil and Paul let rip on this years Doctor Who Christmas special, The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe. Did they like what they saw or were they not that struck on this years festive offering? As well as giving their opinion on the special, they go wildly off tangent and start discussing Doctor Who Confidential (again!!) and also announce the next podcast from the Who's He? team.

All this plus the latest news that's now over a week out of date. So that would be the latest olds then.

Who's He? Podcast #041 The ragged men in the ragged clothes

In their last podcast before Christmas, the Who's He? team delve back into series 5 with a look at Vincent And The Doctor. During their discussion of this episode, Phil and Paul ask should Richard Curtis come back and again for Doctor Who and they also rename the Space Chicken to Space Turkey in light of the festive season. They also give sound advice on what to do with the carcass of a dead giant Space Turkey that can feed an entire village for months.

Also in the news this week, the Ponds are leaving Doctor Who, no two part stories in series 7, more movie rumblings and the first classic Who DVD releases of 2012. And not forgetting a very merry Christmas to all our listeners!

Who's He? Podcast #040 This time you've gone too far

This week, Paul and Phil take a look back at Cold Blood in the continuation of their retrospective of series 5. However, they are a little distracted this week as shortly before recording, official confirmation came through from the the BBC that two long lost episodes of Doctor Who had been rediscovered. And what with the announcement this week of a Doctor Who game for consoles and the PC, Phil was on cloud nine. Pity then that they had to talk about a bit of a damp squib of a Who story afterwards. It ruined the mood somewhat.

Who's He? Podcast #039 Don't dig there, dig it elsewhere

After two weeks of audio commentary, Phil and Paul return to reviewing duties with a look back at The Hungry Earth. However, neither of them can work up much enthusiasm for this story as not a lot really happens apart from some gaping holes in logic. So the result is an underwhelming and rather dull podcast. Sorry folks.

But during this weeks news items, Phil makes his own entertainment by convincing Paul that he's always wanted to keep fish in a Doctor Who themed aquarium.

We also have to apologise for the sound quality in the news section as Phil had his micrphone on the wrong setting. Who's He? Podcast #038 Everybody have fun tonight

Yes, it's the second part of the Who's He? audio commentary for The Talons Of Weng-Chiang, episodes 4 to 6. And in this part, comparisions are made between Weng-Chiang and everyones favourite squid from Futurama and Tony sheds light on Weng-Chiangs succsessful recording career post Talons, though Tony had trouble with his vowels.

And in the news the final total on the auction of Matt Smiths Doctor Who costume for Children In Need and the continuing saga of the planned Doctor Who movie. Also, Phil and Paul try to justify why they are going to next years Doctor Who convention when most Who podcasters are staying away.

Who's He? Podcast #037 So many years ago heroes ruled the world

It's that time of the month!! The Who's He? three are back with an audio commentary for The Talons of Weng-Chiang, episodes 1 to 3. And as last month, Tony gets really excited with his facts but this time runs out of steam after episode 1. As Phil and Paul try desperately to calm him down, they valiantly try to continue with their own version of events.

They also go through the news this week that a Doctor Who film is in the offing and also announce that the Who's He? Podcast will be attending the official convention next year and talk about the trailer for the Christmas special. And Tony gets to hear Let's Save Confidential by No Touch Pod which fair takes his breath away.

Who's He? Podcast #036 it felt like the world would freeze

The lads continue to plough on with the series 5 retrospective with one of their favourite stories from that series, Amy's Choice. Try as they might, they both felt they were struggling with this one as they both agree that this is still one of the best episodes of series 5 but there was nothing to moan about! And an episode of the Who's He? Podcast just isn't the same without someone whinging about something.

Oh I forgot, they whinged about one of this weeks news items, which is the announcement of an official BBC Doctor Who Convention next year which is going to cost the punters £99 per ticket! Still, aside from that, they'll see you there!

Who's He? Podcast #035 Son, you'll never need to smell the black canal

In this weeks episode, the retrospective of series 5 continues with The Vampires Of Venice. While neither Paul nor Phil were particuarly looking forward to re-watching this episode, they were both surprised at how much they actually enjoyed it. However, things wouldn't be the same if they didn't pick holes in something and this week it's perception filters!!

Also in a slow news week, the Who's He? Podcast news desk brings you Doctor Who Christmas decorations and the news of The Gunpowder Plot adventure game that Paul couldn't care less about. Things also go off on a tangent as usual by the end of the show and Phil admits to knowing a man in a rubber suit.

Who's He? Podcast #034 I know you from a previous incarnation

This week, a sleep deprived Paul and a chipper Phil continue their look back at series 5 with Flesh And Stone. Here they discuss whether this story proves that not all two part stories have weak second parts and whether Amy throwing herself at the Doctor does or does not seem out of place in what is essentially a childrens programme. And with the announcement that a clip of this years Christmas special will be on this years Children In Need, Phil wonders why we have to sit through hours of dancing newsreaders to see a couple of minutes of Who? Let's get this straight though, Children In Need is a worthy cause. Phil just doesn't like dancing newsreaders.

Who's He? Podcast #033 I see her face and run to take her hand

Now that there is no more new Doctor Who, the lads go back to their series 5 retrospective with The Time Of Angels. Nothing can be found wrong with this story as both Phil and Paul enjoyed revisiting this episode and both wax lyrical as to how great it is. Shame about the news section though. In another slow news week, they start off well with the Matt Smith leaving rumours and then end up shamelessly padding things out by talking about Jon Pertwee whilst on a trip down Doctor Who memory lane. All together now, "Memories....like the corners of my mind...."

Who's He? Podcast #032 Brush shoulders with the stars

After a long break it's audio commentary time and that means Tony is back to join Phil and Paul to have a good look at The Five Doctors. This time, Tony was set a challenge to come up with fascinating facts about this story and we'll let you decide whether he rose to the challenge or not. Also during this episode, the lads compare the coffee shop style of the Gallifrey High Council Chambers and the Club Tropicana look of the Tardis, the changes in depth of vision on Gallifrey and in a news section that is struggling for content, Drashig glove puppets and the merits of The Good Life underpants!

Who's He? Podcast #031 We're going to stick up the past

In a long edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul take a look back and see what they enjoyed and disliked about series 6 of Doctor Who. There's not many laughs to be had as the two of them take this rather seriously and go through the story arc of River Song as they see it and all the standalone episodes one by one. This was made especially difficult for Paul who has....the lurgi!! Yes, this show is unclean and riddled with germs but Paul managed to hold it together and not cough his lungs up and croak it live on air. Though that would have been a podcast first.

On this edition of the Who's He? Podcast, the reviewing duo take a look at the penultimate episode of series 6, Closing Time. Unfortunately, after a run of cracking episodes, it comes to a halt with this episode which Paul and Phil are very disappointed with. During their discussion about the episode and this weeks news, they talk about pithy subjects such as the press's obsession with Doctor Who's viewing figures and cyber suits for the larger gentleman. However, they are both looking forward to the series finale, which Phil forgets the name of.

Who's He? Podcast #028 Too much, too little, too late

This is it folks, the last episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day for Phil and Paul to get their teeth into. And I am sorry to say that while Paul enjoyed this series, Phil is his ususal miserable self when it comes to Torchwood. While Paul has gone through this series with a spring in his step and laugh in his voice, Phil has gone through this series with lead in his boots and anger in his soul. However, he does cheer up as this is the last in the series and won't have to watch it again. Ever. So he's put the bunting out and had a little drink to celebrate. And Paul has the DVD on pre-order to enjoy it all again.

Who's He? Podcast #027 I can't dream well because of my horn

In the first of two podcasts this week, Paul and Phil ramble on about this weeks episode of Doctor Who, The God Complex. Do they think that his episode continues the recent trend of great episodes? Well they try first with the power of thought and then fall back on the tried and tested method of speech as their levels of extra sensory perception are...well....rubbish really. They eventually get their acts together and deliver a polished episode worthy of a TV Choice award. And if you believe that, you'll believe anything.

In the second of this weeks podcasts, Phil and Paul cast their eye over episode 9 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Will Phil ever really enjoy this series or is he destined to spend the remainder of this days a bitter and twisted individual planning ways to get the hours back that he spent watching this? Will Paul ever lose his composure or will he remain calm, collected and continue to enjoy this series of Torchwood not matter what it's faults may be? Tune in to this episode to find out!

Who's He? Podcast #025 Two little lovebirds, cuckoo to you

In the first of two podcasts this week, the lads cast their eye over Night Terrors and The Girl Who Waited. What will they think of these two standalone episodes? Well, quite a bit actually! For once they can both agree that despite the mixed response these two episodes have received, these are great episodes of Doctor Who! Standby for Phil waxing lyrical about Murray Gold's score and Paul not regretting his rushed viewing after getting back from holiday! A happy time is had by all but don't worry, they will be back to their normal miserable selves in the next show out tomorrow!

In their second podcast of the week, the Who's He? Podcast take a look at episode 8 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Phil feels slightly disappointed at this weeks episode, while Paul just enjoys it the happy go lucky chap that he is.

All this plus Doctor Who and Torchwood news and the pair of them stick up for Steven Moffat over some rather unsavoury tweets sent in his direction and completely off topic, Phil uses this podcast as a platform to vent his fury at George Lucas for mucking around with Star Wars again!

Who's He? Podcast #023 Himmler had something similar

Doctor Who is back! And Paul and Phil give the waiting world their thoughts on Let's Kill Hitler! And guess what? They both enjoyed it! However, enjoying Doctor Who comes at a price as Phil has to eat his hat and two slices of humble pie as his previous predictions on River Song couldn't be further from the truth and he gets and episode title wrong. So really, he did the whole podcast speaking with his mouth full. Naughty boy!

In a shorter than usual Who's He? Podcast, Paul and Phil give you their ramblings on episode 7 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. This week they were both aware that they had to be more professional after last weeks rather shoddy approach. So they bring you Doctor Who news in black tie and evening dress and the Torchwood review from a gentlemens club in Mayfair. Over a game of Backgammon and a large Cognac, they discuss the complete silence from the tabloids today after Jack and Angelo got jiggy last night and they both manage to hide their excitement that Doctor Who is back on the telly tomorrow!
In this weeks episode, Phil and Paul take a look at episode 6 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. And Phil would like to apologise right now. The news section is rather shoddy and rushed because Phil was too distracted and boy does it show! However, they both get stuck into the review and despite the pair of them thinking it would be a short review, the pair find plenty to talk about and Phil gets wound up at poor plotting, whilst Paul defends this weeks episode. Saying that, they both enjoyed the episode which Phil keeps stating to convince everyone, including himself.

Who's He? Podcast #020 Fire, to end all you've become

A stunned and mostly silent Paul and Phil are back with their views on Torchwood: Miracle Day episode 5. The reason they are stunned and silent (well, to begin with) is that they both enjoyed this episode. Who'd have thought it possible!! However, whilst discussing how Oswald Danes character is fitting into the story, it gives Phil a chance to rant against the cult of celebrity and Paul a chance to come up with a tagline for the podcast. Oh and Paul forgets how to talk and Phil comes up with a solution to his predicament.

After what seems like a long absence, the reviewing duo of Phil and Paul are back with their views on episode 4 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Did they continue the trend of liking what they saw or follow a few UK viewers in almost giving up on watching? Did they mind some percieved plot holes or just get caught up in all the fun?

All this plus the latest news from the world of Who and Torchwood and Phil's plan to use Tony as some kind of duelling glove.

In a rather argumentative episode, Paul and Phil give their opinions of episode 3 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Will Phil be happier than he was last week or is it Paul's turn to the dark side? Does the world care? Anyway, they ramble on as normal and Phil makes a rather crass comment about him not having his teeth in. If a podcast could blush, it would be this one.

Another belated Torchwood review! This episode Phil and Paul take a look at episode 2 of Torchwood: Miracle Day and they are not best pleased. While Paul delivers his opinion with his usual level headed and measured approach, Phil let's his temper get the better of him as he vents his anger at what he believes to be an absolute stinker of an episode. They both agree that not much happened in Torchwoods latest installment and they also thumb their noses at a rather shoddy special effect.

It's audio commentary time!! And this month, Phil & Paul show Tony the delights of Attack Of The Cybermen. Yes, last month they promised him a glimpse of the future Doctor Who style and they bring him 1985! However, Tony was fairly impressed with Peri's cleavage, camp sarcastic Cybermen and the Cryons drugs factory. As usual, Phil set Tony one or two tasks during the coure of the evening and Tony also had the temerity to ask why there are no gold Cybermen. The fool!!

Why they put themselves through this we'll never know but as Paul takes a more tempered view of the story, Phil gets quite angry at deus ex machina endings, historical inaccuracies and getting his beloved Spitfire wrong.

All this plus Torchwood and Doctor Who news.

However, the pair of them are even more surprised when Paul thinks his connection has dropped out mid chat and Phil discloses what childhood nightmares scared him at the seaside.

All this plus a piece of news with a very tenous link to Doctor Who.

They decide whether this is the finest post regeneration story ever and what they were feeling when this episode first aired (mainly trepidation and excitement if you can't wait).

They also discuss this weeks main news stories, which is a distinct lack of Torchwood news in the UK and the next round of fretting over Series 7, where there was panic on the streets of Twitter.

Go on, you try it if you think it's easy! Anyway, they deliberate over the general tone of the series so far and tell an excited public what their favourite and least favourite episodes have been. However, they both discuss whether this was the massive cliffhanger we were all promised or was it a bit of a damp squib and left to ponder what will happen in the Autumn? Oh and the pair of them lied about the mid series review promised last week. That's not until next week, the lazy good for nothing swines!

Both Paul and Phil are not overly critical of this weeks story and the general view is that Matthew Graham has redeemed himself for Fear Her. However, being the picky swines that they are, they still manage to talk about Roger Moore designed acid suits and ropey CGI.

They also discuss whether Doctor Who is or ever was too scary for children and go off topic more than once whilst losing themselves in childhood memories.

Well, neither Paul nor Phil were disappointed but did they think it was the story to change the face of Who as we know it or did they not get caught up in the hype?

Also, the other topic of discussion is Steven Moffat who had a bit of a rant this week at fans who post spoilers and the reaction of the fans on the forums, which nearly leads Paul into giving away his dark secrets of the internet!

Good job Tony couldn't be with them again!

They also take a look at the British press and their obsession with Doctor Who's recent viewing figures.
