Announcement - Down to a sunless sea
Later this year I will be launching a Getting Better Acquainted mini series titled ‘Down to a Sunless Sea: Memories of my Dad’ about the my relationship with my dad, my dad's life story and his descent into dementia. The show will be be mixing clips from over 15 hours of interviews that I've done with my dad over the last 10 years with narrations based on these medium pieces: https://medium.com/@goosefat101
Additionally to the main thread of the show I've received The Pulse Award from the Wellcome Trust and British Podcast Awards to make some additional episodes that look at the science behind the issues covered which include dementia, heart conditions, mental health and euthanasia.
https://fund.britishpodcastawards.com/news/50k-awarded-to-uk-podcasters/
As part of the requirements for this funding I'd really appreciate it if people who have listened to Getting Better Acquainted at some point since it launched in 2011 could fill in this survey:
http://podcastviews.com
It shouldn't take too long to fill in and you can select an option to be entered into a draw to get a pair of tickets to this year's awards ceremony.

SUT Presents - What About The Men? Mansplaining Masculinity

In 2015, I made a show about being a man called What About the Men? Mansplaining Masculinity. As research for the show, I surveyed 1000 anonymous men. In 2016, I wrote and performed an extension of the show called Liberating Men for BBC Radio 4's Four Thought. That episode was the Radio Times Pick of the Day.

Stand Up Tragedy - Our theme tune
This is the song that will end the Stand Up Tragedy live shows. If you're coming to one have a listen because we'd love you to sing a long with us at the end.
It's by The Reactionaries: http://soundcloud.com/thereactionaries
But what is Stand Up Tragedy?
Part cabaret, part variety show, Stand Up Tragedy will make you cry until you laugh and laugh until you cry: http://www.standuptragedy.co.uk
Let some great performers make you sad, make you think and make you smile. Sometimes they’ll be putting a new twist on what they do with brand new material tailored towards the theme. Expect music, comedy, true stories and more, all playing up to the tragic form but not taking it too seriously. The night will end, not with a whimper, not with a bang, but with a cathartic sing-a-long.
Here's our IndieGoGo campaign. Please help us to pay our performers by contributing something to this crowdfunding drive, It offers some interesting perks:

Brought to you by Sony Radio Award nominated writer, musician and performer Dave Pickering, this monthly show will be recorded and released as a free weekly podcast.

Stand Up Tragedy - A taste of things to come
Introducing a new night coming soon to The Leicester Square Theatre.
Brought to you by Sony Radio Award nominated writer, musician and performer Dave Pickering, this monthly show will be recorded and released as a free weekly podcast.
