The Spanish Inquisition on March 31, 1492 was one of the saddest days in history. Ferdinand and Isabella signed an edict to remove all the Jews from Spain. This was in direct objection to scripture, as Paul said so well, "Dear friends, my greatest wish and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved" Romans 10:1. History began to repeat itself again.... A state church was established and the Jewish people as well as all unbelievers in the state church where rounded up and tortured. The top down dictation of religion was enforced. We know as Christians a morality must come from the heart, not from rulers, through force. Not everything done under the name of Christianity is Christian. We need to read his word and love others, not persecute. Change comes from the heart, bottom up, not top down.

American missionary and martyr Jim Elliot wrote in his journal: 'Christianity, disruptive in nature, has nonetheless integrating powers for the individual in the culture, though both he and it may expect revolution.'

Quick Bio
Jim Elliot was born in Portland, Oregon to Fred and Clara Elliot, and became a Christian at a young age. He graduated from Wheaton College in 1949, with a degree in Greek. He arrived in Ecuador on February 21, 1952, with the purpose of evangelizing Ecuador's Quechua Indians.
On October 8, 1953, he married fellow Wheaton alumnus and missionary Elisabeth Howard in Quito, Ecuador. Their only child, Valerie, was born February 27, 1955.
There they were approached several times by small groups of Huaorani Indians, and even gave an airplane ride to one curious Huaorani who they called "George" (his real name was Naenkiwi).
Encouraged by these friendly encounters, they began plans to visit the Huaorani, but their plans were preempted by the arrival of a larger group of Huaorani, who killed Elliot and his four companions on January 8, 1956. Elliot's mutilated body was found downstream, along with those of the other men, except that of Ed McCully.
The five missionaries had guns with them in their camp, but they did not use them to fight the Indians. When the Auca men came toward them with their spears, they did not shoot back with their guns. They knew that if they would shoot the Indians, they could probably save their own lives.
The Aucas always remembered those five strange white men who had been so kind to them and had not tried to kill them. And so a year later when more missionaries tried again to speak to the Aucas about Jesus, they were ready to listen.
Several of the men who had helped to kill Jim and his friends with their spears now became Christians. One of them gave his testimony at a meeting. He counted on his fingers and said, “I have killed twelve people with my spear! But I did that when my heart was black. Now Jesus’ blood has washed my heart clean, so I don’t live like that anymore.” God’s love had changed his life!

The Four Chaplains - Interfaith action at work
The Four Chaplains, also sometimes referred to as the "Immortal Chaplains," were four United States Army chaplains who gave their lives to save other civilian and military personnel during the sinking of the troop ship USAT Dorchester on February 3, 1943, during World War II. They helped other soldiers board lifeboats and gave up their own life jackets when the supply ran out. The chaplains joined arms, said prayers, and sang hymns as they went down with the ship. This is why America became the most freest, most prosperous
nation in the history of the world.
America was the nation that
possessed the most liberty. Liberty produces prosperity, but that is not the
entire story.
Where does liberty come from?
Our founders knew, Christianity produces liberty, as Noah Webester said, "the
religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His
apostles...This is genuine Christianity, and to this we owe our free
Constitutions of Government."

Is it a coincidence that the greatest amount of economic liberty and prosperity happens to exist in countries where Christianity has had great influence?
Christian influence in a nation as we have seen produces Individual Character and what is called self-government. This Christian philosophy produces honest employees and employers, whom work hard, save and invest, and have interest for their posterity, and do not steal.
When we all do an honest good day’s work the overall economy is stronger, because we are all contributing.

True economic liberty will nicely flow for people and its government. People will own their own property, and respect each-others property. They abide by contracts and agreements too.
Why did America enjoy economic liberty?
The Christian religion was essential for our prosperity because it teaches about the need for good hard work. "The worker deserves his wages" (Luke 10:7) Scripture also shows us that what is inside of us will come out in our words, attitudes and our work habits.

This amazing work of God. The secret power of God in unfathomed and
unsearchable! Just look how the mighty stars of the universe preserve
their distance, montion and order. The planets which roll in the same
circle and us, and gravitate toward each other according to their
quantity of matter.
The complexity of things that are held together in the universe proves
the existence of a Supreme Designer.

The highest authority in America (under God) would not be any person at all. The highest authority in our land is a document, the Constitution of the United States. Part 1
Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.
Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world.

Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.

God's desire for his people to bear more children is seen in several
other passages. ( Ps.,127:3) ( 1 Tim. 5:14).
The responsibility for training their children fall upon the parents,
not on "society " and not in the government.
( Deut. 5:4-7)
The benefits that a married couple brings to their children are
numerous. Children who live with their own two married parents have
significantly higher Educational achivement, better economic standard,
better physical and emotional health, and more likely to live
according to higher standard of integrity and moral principals.
For these and many more reasons marriage between a man and women is
the basic building block of any stable society, and is essential to
the continuation of a healthy, stable society.
