<p>Ricky from Dallas, Texas called with the following question:</p>
<p>“<em>What marketing skills do I need to have for my site?</em>”</p>
<p>Marketing does not happen by accident. It is a strategic plan and a process. There is not a single method. It is actually a collection of multiple approaches or channels</p>
<p>I suggest to Ricky three high level processes to develop his marketing plan:</p>
<p><strong>1. Identify</strong> – Ask yourself the following questions: Who is your target audience? Who are you trying to help? Who is your ideal reader? Why should they pay attention to your blog?</p>
<p><strong>2. Satisfy</strong> – What is the need your audience has? Be honest and original. Connecting with readers. Connect with other bloggers. There are other ways to connect with your audience and other peers. For example: you can provide freebies such as plugings, material that is useful to your community, or by guest posting.</p>
<p><strong>3. Keep your audience</strong>–Marketing your blog it’s a give and take relationship. I suggest you give/help before you ask. Keeping your audience is all about following up with them. You can follow up with your subscribers, with your commentators or through posts.</p>
<p></p>
<h3 style="font-size: 1.17em;"><span _mce_style="text-decoration: underline;" style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Poll Question of the Week</strong></span><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-199 alignleft" title="ItBM-Poll-of-the-week" src="http://bloggersmind.bloginteract.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/ItBM-Poll-of-the-week-150x150.png" _mce_src="http://bloggersmind.bloginteract.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/ItBM-Poll-of-the-week-150x150.png" alt="" width="150" height="150" style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial; float: left; border-width: 0px;" /></h3>

ItBM 001 – What is your story | Interview with Keisha
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Welcome to the first episode of Inside the Bloggers Mind. This is the show that where we discuss the latest topics in the blogosphere. We also interview amazing bloggers and answer questions submitted by you.</p>
<div style="text-align: left; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"></p>
</div>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">The show is usually aimed to last at least an hour. As I mentioned before, the goal is to develop a blogging community where we can share information. It is also a place to discuss hot topics and to share our journey as bloggers.</p>
<h2 style="margin-top: 1.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.611em; margin-left: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: #111111; font-size: 1.286em; line-height: 1.222em; padding: 0px;"><strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">My Story</strong></h2>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">When I started my first blog it was because of a psychology class. I was writing articles and I decided to share that information with everyone else. My first blog was titled Burgasse 19. That was the address of Sigmund Freud’s clinic in Vienna. With time my blog grew into Psychbits.com.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">That period wasn’t without struggle. I wanted a centralize location where I could find accurate blogging information. It was overwhelming the amount of sites that provided tips and hints. Which lead me to my second struggle: paralysis of analysis. Too much information lead me to wait until I had everything perfect. But as you know, blogging is full of many different aspects that you must master. The skill set is always layered. The more you know, the more you need to learn.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Now, you do not have to struggle they way I did. ItBM is the place where people can actually call and get their questions answered.</p>
<h2 style="margin-top: 1.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.611em; margin-left: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: #111111; font-size: 1.286em; line-height: 1.222em; padding: 0px;"><strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">Listener Questions</strong></h2>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Today, we answer a question from Bryniuk about how <strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">to add a blog to his business</strong>?</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Also, Tony from Miami wants to know <strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">how to start a blog</strong>?</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">And Barbara wants to know <strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">at what point do you consider yourself a blogger?</strong></p>
<h2 style="margin-top: 1.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.611em; margin-left: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: #111111; font-size: 1.286em; line-height: 1.222em; padding: 0px;"><strong style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">Interview with Keisha Easley</strong></h2>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.571em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Keisha runs the <a title="WeBlogBetter.com" href="http://weblogbetter.com/" target="_blank" style="text-decoration: underline; color: #2361a1; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">WeBlogBetter.com</a>.
