'Nurse Jackie' Season 3, Episode 6 Recap
<span style="font-size: large;"></span>'Nurse Jackie' - 'When the Saints Go']<br /> In the latest <span style="color: #eeeeee;">'Nurse Jackie</span>,' Gracie was obsessed with the devil, like a little 'Church Lady,' while Akilitus was down in the dumps over her statuary being carted out of <span style="color: #eeeeee;">All Saints</span> hospital. For Jackie, there was also just one thing on her mind ... and it wasn't Satan or the saints.<br /> Jackie remained a step ahead of Kevin, covering her online search for oxy with a faked history that made him think she was working the program like a good little member of Na. Jackie is the kind of character who's always a couple of moves ahead of everyone else.<br /> <br /> -Allison Waldman<br /> <small></small><br /> <small><div style="float: right; margin-bottom: 4px;"><a href="http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/03/nurse-jackie-season-3-episode-6-recap/" target="_blank"><span style="color: yellow;">See full article at AOL - TVSquad</span></a><span style="color: yellow;"> »</span></div></small>

Nurse Jackie Review: "When the Saints Go"
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TEkR-lUd9OY/Tb_AHRVONXI/AAAAAAAAAF4/MJ9kc3aiDIo/s1600/jackie+with+logo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TEkR-lUd9OY/Tb_AHRVONXI/AAAAAAAAAF4/MJ9kc3aiDIo/s1600/jackie+with+logo+2.jpg" /></a></div>I've been down on <span style="color: #eeeeee;">Nurse Jackie</span> for most of the season - and "When the Saints Go" didn't exactly feel me with hope that the show is going anywhere - which likely makes these reviews disheartening for fans of the series to read.<br /> So allow me to focus on the positives from the latest episode instead for a change:<br /> <br /> <span style="color: #eeeeee;">Peter Facinelli</span> is hilarious. He cracks me up as Coop, even if his scenes just feel like filler until the story can shift back to Jackie. She took his crutch away out of love, right? Great stuff.<br /> Zoey and Lenny 4 Eva! The former might finally be giving in to the latter's charm and loyalty. Loved the little smirk on her face, the one she just couldn't hold back, when Lenny quickly disposed of that female patient's number.<br /> Vulnerability from Jackie. She's getting almost difficult to like these days, isn't she? So»<br /> - matt@mediavine.com (Matt Richenthal)<br /> <small></small><br /> <small><div style="float: right; margin-bottom: 4px;"><a href="http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/05/nurse-jackie-review-when-the-saints-go/" target="_blank"><span style="color: yellow;">See full article at TVfanatic</span></a><span style="color: yellow;"> »</span></div><span style="white-space: nowrap;"><span style="color: #136cb2;"></span></span></small>

Nurse Jackie Review: "Rat Falls"
<div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">So here's my question: does someone like Bill, the drug dealer who claims to help clients by ensuring they hit rock bottom, actually exist in the real world?</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">If so, I'll consider Jackie's reaching out to him on "Rat Falls" an interesting development. If not, such a character is a rather lame plot device that signals what desperate shapeNurse Jackie&nbsp;is in as it tries to mix things up.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Even with Jackie scoring a new stash with Bill, though, the episode lacked any progress or cliffhanger. Bill claims people go to him when rehab and other attempts at getting clean fail.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">But Jackie has no interest in getting clean. She just needs more pills. Bill may act strange and his profession may be shady, but the show hasn't given me any reason to believe he'll play any kind of role in Jackie's future aside from someone who feeds her habit</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><br /> </div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><small></small></div><small><div style="float: right; margin-bottom: 4px;"><a href="http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/04/nurse-jackie-review-rat-falls/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: yellow;">See full article at TVfanatic</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: yellow;">&nbsp;»</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: nowrap;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: yellow;"><br /> </span></span></small><div style="line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"></div><br /> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><small><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: yellow;"><br /> </span></small></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><small><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: yellow;"><br /> </span></small></div><div><small><br /> </small></div>

Nurse Jackie Review: "Play Me"
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xfb3qv7YsGo/TaR664NpkQI/AAAAAAAAAE8/oVtl2GUuWO4/s1600/jamie+alexander+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="134" r6="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xfb3qv7YsGo/TaR664NpkQI/AAAAAAAAAE8/oVtl2GUuWO4/s200/jamie+alexander+1.jpg" width="200" /></a>As played by Jaimie Alexander, the debut of Kevin's sister on "Play Me" came across like a breath of fresh, entertaining, care-free air. Everyone immediately surrounding Edie Falco's title character is just so serious these days - Eddie, O'Hara, Kevin - that it was fun to see someone refer to interventions as "rude."</div><br /> I'm getting the most enjoyment on season three overall from everyone not named Jackie. It's just too much of the same with her: lying, denying, using. Are there people like this in real life? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean it's a hoot to watch.<br /> Fortunately, Coop and Zoey are a source of non-stop laughter.<br /> Granted, their scenes feel unrelated anything else on the show these days, coming across like a blatant humor break from the seriousness of Jackie's situation. But who cares? I still find them funny.<br /> Who didn't crack up.<br /> <a href="http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/04/nurse-jackie-review-play-me/">To se full article at TVfanatic</a>

'Nurse Jackie' recap: God, The Devil & Zoey
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /> <div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--pihdmzRXy8/TaR5UnmffvI/AAAAAAAAAE0/CO0WYz3PrUA/s1600/jackie+1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" r6="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--pihdmzRXy8/TaR5UnmffvI/AAAAAAAAAE0/CO0WYz3PrUA/s1600/jackie+1.jpeg" /></a>Kevin's hot sister is pretty annoying but we'll see how that goes. She'll be staying with the Peytons for a few weeks, so I guess most of this season? She's a trainwreck, and possibly will be dating Eddie. Nothing else of note is really happening with home life this week.<br /> <br /> <br /> What is going on, though, is: Everything is super weird. If this were the new tone of the show I think that would be a great move, because this episode managed to be both funnier and more acidic than usual, while still maintaining a sort of grace that generally doesn't happen on this show. And lots and lots of weirdness. Like, God steals a piano off the street and hauls it into All Saints so that he can counsel Zoey about her Lenny love life... While playing the piano. That kind of thing. Sort of a <i>Northern Exposure</i> cuteness to everything. Akalitus getting into it with this priest who is going to be removing all the statues from the chapel, because it turns out the chapel hasn't been consecrated since the '70s, which seems like a major thematic move for this show, is treated about equally lightly as the guy with a shishkebab skewer through his face, or Thor taking over Coop's fantasy football team.<br /> <br /> One of the more enjoyable episodes, I would say, of the series. Which is funny because there weren't really any jokes or anything, just this pervading sense of lightness in a show usually quite happy to simmer in its own filth. And what's weirdest is that it was written by Linda Wallem, who is one of the creators of the show, so the intent behind all this is even stranger and harder to pin down. Here's hoping some of this magic sticks around.<br /> <a href="http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/nurse_jackie/play_me.php">To see full article at tv without pity</a></div>

Zoey talks things over with God, who's set up a makeshift piano bar in the ambulance bay. NURSE JACKIE: Wow, talk about a comedown!

So what happened? Did Showtime not promote the series enough? Were viewers frustrated by the season 2 cliff-hanger? My theory – Jackie’s double life has gone on a tad too long now and its time for husband Kevin to find out about Jackie’s affair with Eddie… Let the fireworks begin!<br /> "Remote Patrolled" rating roundup for April 2

Edie Falco on TV’s New Beauty Standard

If that’s true, one could argue that Falco, who won Emmys for her roles on “The Sopranos” and “Nurse Jackie,” has aided the rise of cable dramas. “I tend not to think in overviews like that. I just don’t have a brain that works like that. But I suppose so,” Falco said. “There are so many shows with women as the lead characters. And though they are all stunningly beautiful, they are not beautiful in the way that television stars needed to be back in the day. That’s fantastic to me.”</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">Is film work less appealing to Falco than it once was, given the outstanding writing on cable shows? “I don’t think about the genre so much,” she said. “I have to keep bringing it back to the story. What is the story and who am I playing in it? If that was happening in film right now, that’s where I’d be. If it’s happening in television, which it seems to be, that’s where I’ll be.” Falco did admit that the opportunity to play a character over a long period is an “added attraction” of television work. “There’s something magical and captivating about that for me,” she said. “It seems like a huge luxury to get to be so many dimensions of these characters.”<br /> Article copy from the Speakeasy site of TWSJ&nbsp;</div>
